I went to visit Ultimate seats bike week of '17 - bought the tall boy extended seat w/ backrest for my chief classic - great experience @ the store - installed it there - mailed mine home for free - $300 discount during bike week - love the look and feel with the backrest without it it's a different feel - I got 4 seats - so every couple weeks I switch em - then it's a new feel : ) - keep up the great work 2 Indians !!

Hey Brian, I too have experimented with trying to manage the heat that comes up through the seat. I have a Chieftain just like your wifes. I used the silver material heat fabric to match my silver smoke color on the bike. I used a pieace to stretch from on side of the bike to the other just behind the back cyclinder. I cut two holes on each side so the side panels can snap in place. This way the side panels hold it in place. Being silver you don't even notice it unless you are looking for it and it does a great job of keeping the heat out from under your seat. A side benefit is that it keeps your electronics that are under the seat a lot cooler at well.

When you cut the video when I was just enjoying the sound of your bike. I had a Springfield that I bought a Corbin saddle for. I know how you feel about Corbin, but the seat is extremely comfortable especially after a few hours on The saddle. Had the same problem with the sea propping me up higher than the original. I changed to a chieftain exactly like your wife’s, and put that seat on that bike. I had to change bars and windshield because of that seat. At times I don’t think it’s worth it. I use an Air Hawk pad and I love that it sits me up a little. Not a fan of cruiser seats that make me feel like I fell into a toilet with the lid up. I'm probably a great candidate for an Ultimate seat. Thanks for the review.

In 1991 I fell off a roof and broke my tailbone. After a few hundred miles on the seat of my Roadmaster I start to ache. Being to cheap to spend hundreds of dollars and hours of time researching seats, I started trying out various inexpensive configurations. The best I have come up with is an Airhawk slipped under an Alaska Sheepskin. The Airhawk (purchased on eBay for $50 I think) is adjustable both in inflation and position and I have less than $200 into the entire configuration.

Another fine video there Brian. Russell & Day Long Saddles both make excellent seats. Problem is, they are out on the west coast. I would only do business with them if I were riding in, and having it made on the spot, which they both do.

Hi Brian, I have an 06 Yamaha V Star, not known for great suspension packages. LOL . I replaced the stock seat with a Mustang seat and have never regretted it. Had it for about 4 years.

I put an Ultimate on my 2015 Indian Roadmaster and LOVE IT. Just finished a 921 mile trip with wife on back. VERY comfortable for us both. Beats the hell out of the stock seat. I even love the rain cover. I covered the seat and it rained 2 inches one night. There was 2 inches of standing water on the cover. Removed the cover and seat was BONE DRY!

I have the exact Springfield with the exact color. Thinking about a new seat myself! Mustang!! Will also sit you lower. Very comfortable! Had one on my streetglide.

I sent my wife's Scout seat pan to Laam Custom seats in California. He takes your inseam, weight and what type of riding you do and makes a custom seat for you. It was much better but still ended up adding an air cushion to it to do long distance rides.

I'm 5'9 and bought the Ultimate Big Boy for my HD RGS. Sits me back 1", same height as stock.

I hear good things about Russel Day Long Seats . They are very expensive though. Mustang is a seat I have experience with on other bikes. Very comfy.

Give Stich in time a call. They're in St Pete. I had them redo my vision seat with memory foam a few years ago. They used to go to bike week and probably still do. Going to have them do the same for my chieftain

When I am on my bike I tend to think about all of the things I love about life...and one of them is alone time in my helmet. I don't know how or why it works but a sheep fleece remnant works wonders for the sitter. Slip an Air Hawk under it and you've got your own little slice of heaven.

Check again on Sargent site. They have been around for years and pretty well known. Good luck on the seat. Sure understand seat issues.

Look into Le Pera, they have a lot of options for tall, short and anywhere in between. Takes a little time to break it in but its comfy after the first 1k.

What is the material and source of the heat deflector you are using? I have the same issue with heat. I do have an Ultimate mid rider on my Roadmaster and it has worked very well for me, but everybody is different. Great videos by the way.

I replaced my chieftain seat with a Roadmaster seat. I find it’s much more comfortable on long rides then the chieftain solo seat. Plus it heated not that you need that in Florida. I sat on a buddy’s ultimate seat on his chieftain and also found it to be too high. I don’t understand why they don’t make one with the factory seating position.

I have had a mustang seat for 40,000+ miles on my 14 chieftain. It is about 1 1/4 inch further back but very comfortable with backrest. I had the same seat on my road glide. They are both much better than stock.

I just picked up the Ultimate Slimline, not as high and not as wide. Trying it out from Atl to Daytona Sunday.

Jeez, a little increased height on seat can create all kinds of other problems. Ultimate seat looks great, I`m considering one for my Victory Cross Country Tour. The Ultimate Midrider seat claims to put me in the same height and distance as stock seat. After watching your video I now have some doubts. Hmmm...they give me two week trial period after which I would have to pay shipping if I wanted to return it. Thanks for this video

I switched my OEM seat on my Street Glide with a Mustang seat and enjoy it with its lower profile. I know two other riders that did switch to the Ultimate Seat. I almost did an Iron Butt in 2018, but had battery problems at the 850 mi point and didn't finish. I might try it again this summer. enjoyed your video, cheeres

I have 3 crushed discs. When I owned a HD I bought a hammock seat, and it was amazing!!! Super soft, and no pinch on my tailbone. Anything like that for Indian?

Looking for a new solo seat and searching RU-vid and low and behold, my favorite channel pops up. I guess I haven't watched ALL of your videos. Good to know on the Ultimate. My bars are too low for me as it is. I called Saddleman looking for a seat/backrest to fit the '22 Chieftain and they recommend the "Dominator". Still researching. Agree on the MV's riding and talking...a whole ride of yapping about nothing. Not that my channel is any better....I SUCK as a creator! But still having fun. ish.

Yup, just received my Ultimate seat and it will be going back. I used to be able to flat foot my bike, but can’t now. Also noticed the same thing you noticed about how the seat pushes into your hamstrings when you put your feet down. I suspect I will also have windshield height issues. I’ll ride it over the weekend, but the sit on it in the garage didn’t go well.

Hi I replaced my factory chieftain seat with a tan-solo seat and backrest (Indian). I'm very comfortable. I put about 3000 miles on my bike in two months. Adjusting the backrest makes a world of difference. P.S. I'm 5'6 tall and it works well for me.

I just bought a 2018 Chieftain elite which came with a Corbin seat. It feels like sitting on a rock so I'm planning on changing it. Have you found anything you like yet? I have had good luck with Mustang on my Kawasaki vulcan Vaquero but it was so wide when I stopped it also put pressure on my legs. I actually like how the Corbin sits but too hard.

Hey two Indians Kia ora from New Zealand , have just purchased a Springfield in the USA for a month touring in August 2020. Have heard the stock seat is not that comfy and looking to get a longer reach Indian rogue seat fitted. Have you considered one of these or any knowledge around comfort?

I've got 30k miles in 2 years on an ultimate midrider seat. It doesn't feel like anything special when you sit on it but I've put in 500-600 mile days on that thing with zero ass fatigue at the end of the day. Im not even bullshitting. I dont understand it even a little bit yet thats what my experience has been.

Hi. I’m changing out my chieftain’s seat to a road master seat. It’s wider, better padding and construction and heated, not that I need the heated option in Dubai. I’m not sure if a road master seat would fit your Springfield, but you can always check that out on the Indian website.

Hey Brian, had a question about the Springfield. How's the wind buffeting when on the highway? I'm 5'7" and I have a Harley Road Glide. The wind protection on my Road Glide is pretty good but the bike is big and heavy and I sometimes consider going to a windshield touring bike like the Road King or the Springfield Dark Horse. Thoughts?

Did you try loosening your handlebars and rotating them up. It looks like they are rotated down. This would more than make up for the higher seat.

Okay, so I was going to say it was a great video but after almost finishing watching it and listening to you complain like some little school girl on her first overnight with her friend Sally, I almost got bored. Then there was the Beautiful Ms. Barbara and you know you get more likes and views when she is doing her cameo appearances. Oh, thanks for the shout out. ;-) Now, on to the seat in question. I have seen guys put mustang on here and I had one on my Honda VTX and loved it. But there is also a guy named Alligator Bob on FB that will rebuild your seat but his prices are a little over the top for me. But with someone of your means it's just another late lunch. ;-) Following buddy.

I’m sure these are good seats but I don’t understand a seat that has to be protected by a rain cover. I usually don’t even wear one for myself . I hear they will degrade in time if not protected. Would someone explain this to me? A motorcycle seat that can’t get wet?

I’ve used Corbin for so long I can’t remember the time frame and have never had an issue.

This company is by far the best seat manufacturers on the market. Tell me one other company that will let you try out a seat for a week to decide whether or not you like it. they have the absolute best customer service hands-down would not purchase any other seat without trying theirs first.

You really should try the low boy Buy ultimate seats. Put one on my bike after trying damn near every other seat manufacturer on the market by far the most comfortable seat I’ve ever had. If you want to try something that’s close to stock you can try mustang seats but they’re pissy little assholes about returning anything.

Which seat did you get? I'm looking to raise my seat and I believe the 1.5" height is what need.

Hey, BTW How did the seat do in the rain? The manufacturer recommends not getting it wet, which is a real negative to have to worry about covering your seat whenever it may get wet.

I should add that the mustang is low profile as I am almost 6 foot and have no issues with bar height on my ride. They start out hard at first and quite literally form to your butt. I never experience numb bum

I sure don't want to be higher with that seat! I want lower for me....

Nice video as usual. Talking about which. Years ago I was in Sturgis and I used to wear open helmet or sometimes no helmet at all if I am riding in some states. While I was in Sturgis I saw a guy his face almost smashed to the ground because he was wearing open face helmet. From that day I never wear an open face helmet or ride without a full-face helmet. Even with simple stuff like when I got hit by flying bugs or other small objects and I hear them when they hit the helmet and I said to myself if I wear an open face helmet this is going to hit my face. Stay safe bro and hope everyone riding please wear a good full-face helmet. It doesn't mean it didn't happen it won't happen. It can happen any time and regret won't do any good for you.

Corbin all the way! Put one on my 16 Springfield and moved it to my 19 Chieftain and absolutely love it! Sits low and almost 2 inches back than stock. I was worried about my reach because I am only 6 foot tall but it was not an issue actually love it. I have over 20,000 miles on it and no issues at all. Not my first Corbin and they have always been great to me from a customer service standpoint.

Sargent in Jacksonville? They let you ride it for a few hours as well.
