14:54 The outbreak bug I mention at this time stamp has been fixed as of the latest update! So you can now encounter most alternate form Pokémon via outbreaks! Whatever form the outbreak shows on the map should be the form you will encounter now!
One small tip for those hunting in outbreaks, and like going for marks: if you are outbreak hunting and want to use sparkle power, look up a sandwich that gives sparkle/title/ and either humungo or tiny power, since you don’t need encounter power because the outbreak essentially works as encounter power! This gives you a chance at the 1:64 jumbo/mini mark respectively.
Finally got my shiny charm. Went out to see if I could get lucky with an azurill mass outbreak. After about 15 KOs I found a shiny psyduck and thought “well there goes my luck” then after catching the duck, right behind me, a shiny azurill spawned 😂
Just discovered you through your Let's Go shiny hunting guide. I'm going for a shiny living dex in a premier ball, so far have caught around 200. Subscribed.
I'm surprised you made this video before the dlc released! Thanks of course for releasing this once all the information has settled, as it could have gotten outdated verrrry quickly. I've pretty much already ingrained this info into my psyche, but could definitely see myself referring to this into the future. Thanks for all the work! Cheers.
Yeah! I’ll probably make the dlc video once all the dlc is released in like November or December of this year and make it one video instead of splitting it up!
@@ThedomiNATION true that 😂 it's the sit there and wait for eggs to appear that get me. In older games you could get a nice cycle going where you could hatch an egg and pick a new one up, and like you mentioned, hatching multiple eggs at the same time. Love your content btw!
the picnic reset works in certain areas, like if you have a very tall mountain behind and a good view in front of you is really good cuz all the 15 pokemons will spawn in front of you, if is and open area then i dont use it
7:48 One thing to note is that the odds are actually supposed to be 1/585 (1/455 with the charm) due to Masuda Method now generating 6 personality value as of SwSh. However due to a bug in which the initial roll is skipped if any personality value rerolls are applied which is also the case with SwSh and BDSP, it makes it so that the odds are still the same as of X and Y.
Yeah but it’s still so much slower than past games, plus you can mass release Pokémon in home anyway so I was taking that into account. I really only think it’s worth breeding for shinies in this game if there’s no other way to hunt a specific Pokémon because of how easy it is to get egg moves and competitive Pokémon from wild Pokémon anyway, which have a much higher encounter rate
Had a shiny drifblim in my sights. Beautiful gold and blue color. As soon as I get into the battle, homie uses self destruct. I didn’t save beforehand 🤦♂️
I've never been able to hatch a shiny with breeding,I always give up cause of my lack of patience, but some pokemon I really want to get a shiny of,like shiny hisuian zorua,if I don't give up on it,it'll be my first shiny that I've bred
I accidentally knocked out a shiny iron thorns while watching this video and forgot to save before encountering, managed to recover and encounter another one 5 minutes later while still watching this video 😂
9:17 As Anubis also said: Oh yeah, there's a silly implication of egg hatching in SV. The game checks your party from 1 to 6 to decrement hatch counters. Once an egg hatches, all the eggs after it are skipped.
Basically what I meant is that unlike in BDSP where multiple eggs hatches automatically should all of them reaches 0 egg cycle at the same time in your party, you still have to walk a full egg cycle for each egg even if they are ready to hatch which is a dumb downgrade to the hatching mechanic in these games.
My favorite gen 9 shiny is Chi-Yu, but since they made it shiny locked (☹️) I’d say Slither Wing and Iron Valiant. I have been only trying to hatch shinies for the Starters and the Pokemon that hard to find in the wild, but I’m still stuck on Sprigatito. I’ve only hatched one shiny Sprigatito so far and need two more for the evolution line. Since I have a second Switch (glad I never got rid of my old one when I got the OLED) I have been collecting eggs from one while I shiny hunt with a sparkling sandwich on the other. After the Meal Power ends for both games after 30 minutes, I hatch whatever eggs were generated, which is usually only about sixty-something, if I’m lucky, and that’s with Egg Power 2.
Yeah that’s a good way to make the breeding less tedious! I also can’t stand that they keep shiny locking starters. Ideally I want to get my shiny Living Dex all full odds but that would mean I have to full odds breed for 18 starters across gen 8 and 9 and that’s assuming they stop shiny locking them in future generations
@@ThedomiNATION Even if the starters weren’t shiny locked, soft resetting seems to take a lot longer than on the old Game Boy/DS games since there’s no convenient way to go back to the title screen. The only thing I’ve successfully soft reset for on the Switch so far was Arceus…
I'm pretty sure you have to use the egg power to have eggs on the basket. I tested for some minutes without it, and never got an egg. Also: the BEST pokemon for solo the 6 stars raid is Iron Hands. Belly drum, drain punch, close combat and thunder punch/coverage move (earthquake, iron head, etc)
Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but 5 star raids actually have a glistening effect around them when viewing it through the map. Also, since Blissey is wayyy more common due to the current event, very good time to grind herba mystica through 5 star raids.
This is false. Only event raids have that glistening effect and depending on the event can vary on what level they are. Also I personally didn’t participate in the blissey event so I cannot say for sure but typically event raids never give herba mystica. So the event blissey raids most likely won’t as well
Even if I prefer masuda method I'm stuck making really annoying sandwiches for that too. Having to fight lvl 5+ dens just to participate in shiny hunting, sucks. It's time consuming and for something I'm not interested in, battles. At least w masuda method it was simple and effective. Why they mess w the parts they had perfected, dunno. I've gone back to sword and shield because shiny hunting is fun there and not broken like Arceus. I really hope breeding centers come back next gen
While sandwiches are super annoying to make.. A tip that helped me is that you do not need to place the top bread on the sandwich. Just throw it as far above the plate as you can go. Hope this helps! Happy hunting.
It was only for certain areas to prevent the game from crashing. Not everywhere was affected and even areas that were, most people haven’t even noticed a substantial difference. Also in this video I recorded all the footage in the recent update and still got plenty of shinies!
Do i have you kill the 60 Pokemon in an outbreak as a chain or can i accidently kill a different Type of pokemon with Autobattle and still hold my number of pokemom killed in the outbreak?
It does not have to be a chain! Catching, KOing, and defeating the Pokémon with let’s go mode all count and the KOs count until the outbreak goes away!
No it’s not! I’m very good at spotting shinies and I also play on a huge screen so it’s easier for me to see them anyway! Usually if I fail a shiny, I notice it lol
You can actually pick up multiple eggs in the picnic, up to ten. You don't have to pick up eggs one at a time in these games. With Egg Power on, you can pick up 10 eggs every ten minutes and get 30 eggs in half an hour. :) Also, you can hatch five eggs at a time, the time between egg hatches aren't really that bad. I mean, you had to walk between egg hatches in older games too. If you are riding Miraidon or Koraidon and use the dash feature, egg hatching is much faster.
The issue with collecting eggs is that you need to essentially be afk to get them but you also still gotta be around to make sure you don’t hit the 10 egg limit so you can keep getting eggs. It’s just a lot more clunky and boring than past games. Also 30 eggs in a half hour is not much compared to previous collection rates like SWSH or USUM
What’s the shiny egg rate in gen 7 without masuda and with shiny charm. Currently trying to hunt minior but don’t have a foreign ditto to masuda with so just thought I’d get lucky. About 1000 deep rn…
This vid definitely is helpful. When the game came out I did a lot shiny hunting but then didn't do it for months so I forgot how to make shiny encounter sandwishes lol. Anyway the best shiny I came across in the game was Cetoddle because Cetitan's shiny is so great. It took ages for it to spawn though because its a pure ice type only really found in areas with other ice types and I came across like 3 shiny Sneasels before finally showed up lol. So yeah I got the DLC finally in the last week or two so since I completed it I'm thinking of going after shiny Cramorant (its such a nice shade of orange) and probably a few other mons.
Nope. Knocking out the 60 Pokémon for an increased shiny rate is exclusive to outbreaks. Knocking out 60 Pokémon that aren’t from outbreaks don’t get any additional shiny boost outside of shiny charm and sparkling power
I started Shiny hunting Ralts using mass outbreak, paused to look it up to make sure I was doing it correctly and while I was watching the video I glanced over and saw a shiny one had appeared
I got really lucky in Pokemon Scarlet when I came across a full odds shiny ditto. I would have gone right past if I didn't notice his nose was blue lol
The titans can technically be shiny but it will only show up in the Pokedex after the main battle not as a color change and the shiny locked static Pokemon changed after the first update 😅
@@currentdeadbydaylightplayer there’s also plenty of resources online to find where Pokémon appear in a game like Bulbapedia or serebii. You can use those for next time but for now, eevee appears at Medali
@@ThedomiNATION its funny that lechonk and oinkalogne are my luckiest pokemon Played scarlet and got lechonk before reaching mesagoza, and in violet amid my hunts ive come across only full odds spawns, never from outbreaks, 3 lechonk and 3 oinkalogne.
I’m confident most of the bugs and performance issues won’t get fixed. But I’m just hoping the outbreak bug gets fixed so I can hunt for a mini mark shiny droopy tatsugiri
I mean, breeding is still the most optimal. After all, these regular spawns are just garbage. Who wants a garbage, mon? And yes, there's hyper training, but seriously, that best is the status window it is well the best
Certain Pokémon spawn in groups of 5. There are other Pokémon that can only sometimes spawn in groups of five while others can only spawn one at a time. Pokémon that can spawn only one at a time are the ones that are more worth using outbreaks for!
@@Dreddhimself it’s random how much the groups of 5 spawn if they aren’t guaranteed. It isn’t based on how fast you’re running around. But the faster you spawn in and despawn Pokémon it will in turn cause more Pokémon to cycle in and out quicker.
@@julienschnell1730 yep! It isn’t a chain. You just need to knock out 60 Pokémon from that specific outbreak in total before the outbreak goes away at midnight (or when you mess with your switch clock)
Yeah they started shiny locking the starters in sword and shield. The only recent game that had them huntable was BDSP but that is mainly because they just copy and pasted Platinum’s code for those games and Platinum didn’t have any shiny locks
in my opinion all of these shiny boosting methods reduce the actual value of the shiny itself, i mean whats the point of all of this, might as well hack them in at this point. and even without any boosting your odds in scarlet and violet are still way higher than in older games, during my first playthrough of the game i found 4 full odds shinies and i wasnt even looking for one, i just found them randomly.
Shinies never had any value. Whatever “value” You think a shiny has, is strictly personal. That’s why many shiny hunters make rules for themselves to keep shinies at a certain level to keep them engaged or excited or not burnt out. For me, I just keep everything full odds as of late. I like to hunt in older games but for me personally, if a shiny is full odds, it doesn’t matter to me what game I got it in. But some shinies I will always value more than others based on how lucky they were to find or the story behind them.
