Love that you covered milk fish as a huge part of Taiwanese cuisine! A lot of tourists and food bloggers miss out on this , but you introduced it! I can literally eat milkfish and luroufan for the rest of my life and die happy. If you’re ever back in Taiwan please do a video on all the types of milkfish dishes: braised, pan fried, steamed, congee, soup, and etc…You’ve earned a subscriber❤ My boyfriend has visited Taiwan before for half a year and he said he didn’t see anyone introduce milkfish or order milkfish while he was there. When I made it for the first time here in the US last night he said he couldn’t believe how he missed out on such a delicious fish. He said it tastes just like KC Joe’s BBQ’s burnt ends! Which is probably the best description of milk fish.

Had the sweet tofu dessert but with just syrup water the Cantonese version at yum char or dim sum restaurant in Auckland NZ but unfortunately not where I live as less asian people and food in my city.
Oh, the first version of that coffin toast so reminds me of a popular dish in my home country Belgium, called Vol-au-vent. It's still quite different, but the principle is the same. It's a puff pastry cup, filled with a thick bechamel based sauce, with some lemon, and mixed with chicken and mushrooms, sometimes with small meatballs. Usually served with baked potatoes or fries, and salad on the side. Soooooo damn yummy! I regularly make it myself :)

Have rice porridge same way with rice grains still visible, we don't have it Cantonese version which is too mushy in texture, we have either chicken or fish porridge but with different fish as NZ has different fish here.

There is an asian grocery store near me that has that think sliced bread so thinking I will get some and try to make the coffin bread. Just dieing to try it. Oh that is punny haha
Here in the Philippines, we like it boneless. When you buy milk fish a.ka. Bangus in PH markets you could ask the vendor to clean and picked out the bones.
Did you know that milkfish is the national fish of the Philippines? They are called 'bangus' in Filipino and its English name is also milkfish. In the Philippines, they have many different ways of cooking that fish and the vendors who sell them in the market are really good at deboning them.
