You should watch out for some "numbers". First is wheelweight per ton. The higher the better. There is a reason why the Tatra 805 at 2.5 ton and 4 x 100 kg works well and the 3.5 ton Hummer H2 with 4 x 50 kg doesnt. Grip is roughly "torque of engine x wheelmass x friction". See also the TUZ16 with 4 x 100 kg but up to 8 tons incl. Crane. UOD is 100 kg, OHD is 200 kg and there are also the SUPERHAVIES as for Caz 745, ZIZ605R/Kolobs... Second ist axle loading. Unfortunately impossible to measure, but you feel it. A P16 has 15 of its 15 tons in the yellow cabin, front axle totally overloaded. Especially RWD trucks suffer from way too pronounced frontheaviness. One of the best is the Voron AE with a very uniform axle loading AND a great suspension. Voron Grad the same. Really poor: many old US trucks.
@DecPlays_
@DecPlays_ Год назад
@@AnkurFFM Yeah the P16 is a great example of the axle loading. At its most pronounced when traveling uphill as you keep seeing the front wheels digging into the ground rather than being pushed properly by the rear wheels
@AnkurFFM
@AnkurFFM Год назад
@@DecPlays_ And there is no way at all that the "Cabin's Frame" (yellow part) has 15 tons of weight. Its hollow, engine and gearbox "down below" and not filled wth concrete

I absolutely love the Voron Grad. My most used truck by far. Sure it may struggle in the deeper mud but it has no problem going around or taking your own shortcuts through the woods. Learn the truck’s strengths and weaknesses and you’ll be flying through contracts.

Thank you for your videos. I had a long pause in gaming when my daughter was born. Now she is a bit older, and I got back in to my favorite hobby and started Snowrunner. As a fan of Mudrunner this was a no-brainer. You helped me so much in the beginning with your videos. Now I binge watch your videos for kicks.

Thanks so much for this video! I've been playing Snowrunner again lots lately and there is so many different trucks to learn about. I love this video it shows and explains so many vehicles and their utilitys. Its hard to know whats good for what job in Snowrunner so you've been a huge help to me in my current playthrough of the game. There isn't really any other videos like this one, so I'm glad I stumbled upon it. Thanks for putting the effort in to indulge us on the various trucks, much appreciated 👍

So about the DAN: I initially used it as a crane too and was very disappointed. Then in immandra I needed 2 long log trucks and I used the DAN to tow my p16. The DAN has so much mower and just plows to everything. Kinda a sleeper

Informative and entertaining review! Found your channel on recommendation from a commenter on a Nathan Province video. About the Freightliner 114SD: Though I agree with your opinion that the truck is not essential, I think it’s worth mentioning that it’s crane + bed + trailer capable.

The Fleetstar is really cheap to buy and reasonably capable so it's a great pick if you want a dedicated fuel or repair truck in your fleet (which is something I'd recommend).

I find that the Azov 5319 kind of needs the short range handicap or it'd just be too good. It's fast, it takes practically no damage in head-on crashes, the whole 8x8x4 LSD thing it's got going on. It's hands down my favourite truck in the game. Most of my friends weren't a fan of it, but now most, if not all, of us have one that is by default outfitted as a support truck. Because it can go pretty much anywhere any other truck can go, deliver fuel and repairs and seriously help in dragging things out of the muck. We play on easy mode, so having to recover it after it's saved the day is not really an issue.
@DecPlays_
@DecPlays_ Год назад
Thanks for sharing! Fair enough points made. I don't agree with the "balance" that the devs do especially when this isn't exactly a competitive game. It's just an 8x8 chassis by the way :)
@fermitupoupon1754
@fermitupoupon1754 Год назад
@@DecPlays_ I'd argue it's an 8x8x4 because both front axles steer. But eh, technicalities enough in life already... I'm personally not that opposed to balancing. The whole 10+ litres of fuel per minute in and of itself is a balance choice. You can be driving along a paved road at 40km/h and still be flushing 10l/min from the fuel tank. At that rate you're burning 15l of fuel to go 1km. Which is just ridiculous. So yeah, fuel consumption seems to be a major balancing mechanic for the game devs.
@DecPlays_
@DecPlays_ Год назад
@@fermitupoupon1754 Steering doesn't have anything to do with the chassis and drive classification. The first digit is the number of wheels points around the chassis and the second number is wheels receiving power. Off-road cars are 4x4 and most road cars are 4x2 and road trucks are mostly either 6x4, 6x2 or if small, 4x2
@fermitupoupon1754
@fermitupoupon1754 Год назад
@@DecPlays_ and yet over here on the continent it is basically the most common thing when it comes to heavy and offroad equipment to specify all 3 terms. Because it's relevant to know if that Unimog you're planning on buying is a 4x4x2 or a 4x4x4. Same in Truck Trial classifications. It matters if your truck is a 6x4x2 versus an 8x8x8. As in an 8x8x8 and a 8x4x4 or 8x6x2 are not going to be in the same classification and are not going to be competing. So that's why I am used to specifying all 3 numbers when talking about offroad or just large trucks in general. For example when comparing the 5600TS and the 73210, one is by default a 10x6x4, which can be switched to be a 10x10x4 and the other is a 10x10x6 with LSD. It just makes it that much easier to communicate the difference between the two.
@DecPlays_
@DecPlays_ Год назад
@@fermitupoupon1754 I didn't know that they used that for competitive and trial events. That's good to know

The DAN cannot have a 3 slot bed due to the driveshaft on the back removing space. Overall good truck and super easy to get and I wonder why people use it always as a crane truck..
@DecPlays_
@DecPlays_ Год назад
I don't remember saying that it does. I said it could have had a triple bed slot but it cannot because of the gearbox location. At least that's what it says in the script. Dan is pretty marmite

I gotta ask this, i am modding my zikz605r and i am kinda stuck in wheels so help me a bit here, i can't decide whether to leave the zikz wheels on it or add the kolob wheels along with the zikz wheels as options to the zikz605r. Also are there any other tires in game that if the zikz605r could use would make it just that much more op?
@DecPlays_
@DecPlays_ Год назад
I don't really know much about modding but I believe you can just modify the traction values on the tyres themselves without copying wheels from other trucks. Technically by default the best tyres are for the Pacific P16 and the K7M tractor (double tyre upgrade).
@helloworld6166
@helloworld6166 Год назад
@@DecPlays_ nah i meant i am gonna change the traction settings and all, but what i want a suggestion on is, which tire would look best or would make it look like a off-road beast if you could just take any tire in game and slap it on zikz605r??
@DecPlays_
@DecPlays_ Год назад
@@helloworld6166 oh I see! For the size the tyres would be, the DMHS tyres would look pretty good, got 3 options to choose from there. MSH and MHS I guess too. Wouldn't go with anything ultra wide as you might struggle to fit in certain areas
