this was prime Ultimate Warrior, absolutely peak, he was on top of the world. love the look that he is sporting, so colorful and energetic, screams late 80s early 90s Americana greatness !
This brings back such good memories.. I was born and raised in pittsburgh and I remember being sick as a dog watching this then going to watch him at the civic arena that day.. Man was my idol.. Still is.. Miss these days of wrestling with huge characters and before the Internet when the crowd knew everything.
Yeah, he was my favorite wrestler of all time, the reason I became a fan. If I would have known he was at that parade that day, I would of been there to see him. He got a bad reputation for not doing things like this for the fans, but its cool he came out on the streets of Pittsburgh to give us his time.
What you mean he didn't make sense he spoke positive like most residents don't these days man you guys are haters, trolls. To stop people from sending positive messages he said he wants to thank everyone for coming out and sticking ate out in the cold weather and no matter what they're going through there someone else going through worse to stick it through! You know, he takes a lot of heat...If only the WWF didn't screw up his title reign and he and Vince got into that situation at Summerslam in 1991...he could have had such a career! But he takes too much blame...it didn't matter if his promos didn't make since or he couldn't wrestle...the guy could entertain better than 95 percent of the roster back then.
His promos did make sense. Either you got it or you didn't. He wasn't supposed to be a technical wrestler. He was a big muscle guy. He brawled his opponents. He got no credit for slamming Andre the Giant.
I loved technical wrestling and great matches like Bret vs Shawn but The Warrior was indeed very entertaining. Hulk too but I favored the Warrior more so
Damn straight. Those crowds were family’s looking to be entertained not wrestling critics. Warrior was miles ahead of all of them and never let the old timers drag him down like they did everyone else. Only guy to stand up to all of them including Vince. Did it his way.

Imagine if every other wrestler worked as hard as warrior did. He’s the one everyone remembers and the wrestlers from that time hate him for it. They’re all jealous.
True. Hogan was one of them, he hated that Warrior could even try to be the bad guy compared to him (crash the plane promo) and still have more of an ovation than Hogan. Warrior came in ripped, neon and won over everyone.... then was replacing Hogan as champion
I don't know if you're being serious, but it was pretty common back then for guys to be wrestling 2 matches in different states on the same day. Go check out the results; you'd see Hogan wrestling in New York in the afternoon and then in Philadelphia later that night. The schedule was murder back then.
The only people who hated him in wrestling were the real pieces of shit that he wanted nothing to do with. I mean if a scumbag like Ted Dibiase hates you and talks crap about you, then you're doing pretty good.
This was during the Christmas Parade they showed on WPXI in my hometown of Pittsburgh. I remember when they did stuff with Sgt. Slaughter and Razor Ramon.
The shoot he did was a piece where he actually makes sense. Especially when he talks about the whole stupid "appearance bond" thing that happened in 96 when he was back in the WWF.
I agree with the comments below regarding seeing the Warrior calm and sensible. The interview would have been much more entertaining had he given his opinions as to what does, or does not, make the world work.
No it wouldn't. In the 2000s people provoked uw to getting angry. But the 90s were real. News interviewers now in 2022 have to be nice like they were in the 90s instead of being negative!!! They're not gonna win points with the big man upstairs.
I saw the Self Destruction DVD and believe everything WWE tells me. listen to Warrior here, you can't understand what he's saying.. no one wanted to work with him cause he couldn't draw money ... he never had any memorable matches ... all of his matches were 1-minute long (see WM5, WM6, SS90, WM7, SS92 for examples of his 1-minute matches,,,, oh wait he didn't compete at SS92, it wasn't in the dvd)
@williwo ... i think i was forgetting yeh he did have abs , but it was later on he got them pronounced , they were only half there for a long time , he is my all time fave but as a bodybuiler i can see his only flaws were his tri's and bi's and abs couldve been more beasty , but fpr a wrestler he was the best build.. no contest
Last comment I swear. If you think the Warrior is crazy. The guy interviewing him in later years lost his mind. Before Pittsburgh Pirates game, he delivers the nightly forecast and Arrrs like a Pirate much to the distaste of the crowd. Also, during live TV he delivered a few pounds of dry ice to the Anchors. Who the hell does that?
Either would make a good segment for Pittsburgh Dad, (loved the spoof with Peggy Finnegan to the theme song of Perfect Strangers). This clip brought back memories as I was bummed I missed this parade as a kid, as I couldn't con my parents into making the drive, (grew up in Johnstown, but I've been a resident of the 412 region for about 20 years)

@TheRich30 .. totally , and his abs were never there really , decent chest and shoulder set , but poor triceps . Still he was beasty , just not shredded by bodybuilder standards . no way 275 unless holding his max water .
And yet he still looked better than any wrestler that ever existed, even now. And you got to remember something, he wasn't an ordinary bodybuilder that just did his work out and looked in the mirror all day long and did nothing else like some guys.
