Mate, what an excellent video. Obviously perfect and full of information, just what I needed. However, I have a few questions and you can answer however you please but I’m curious, do you think these are durable and can last a long time, and do the clicky triggers have an actual mouse click? As said before, excellent video!
The click does feel incredibly mouse like. In terms of how long they will last... hard to say. The parts screw into the trigger so they won't just come loose. The button feels like a standard button. I suspect the most vulnerable part is your ability with the soldering. Although its tricky to install purely because of the soldering, its also very easy to just desolder and take out if you don't want it anymore or need to replace it.
Coming from a long time PlayStation user… i wanted to experience true 4K and the Xbox one X had offered that feature as PS did not. I am not a fan of the Xbox controller design. I do hate the long triggers that come with the stock Xbox controllers. I thought Xbox players were just weird and so I adapted to this weird clunky style of gaming. This video is pretty cool and informative. But I’m not about to take my controllers apart and possibly what? SODDER THE WIRES?? lol … l stick to the weird slow clunky style Xbox wants me to play.. great video though and super impressed!
Will this work on xbox elite series 2? I had to turn in my old one since it was going bad. I got a new one and want to mod it out. Clicky bumpers, triggers, new face plate. Maybe try different color buttons. I don't care about rhe warranty on this one since I'm not going to spend another $180 on a new one.
Also, does anyone know if I just cut the wires for the rumble shocks for the elite 2, will the controller still work? I do not need the rumbles anymore. Or do I need to sotter them out of the circuit board?
@@invest_9361 I haven't tried this but I have accidentally torn rumble motor wires before. The controllers that I have done this on still worked after tearing the cable.
I do not know, you may find that the parts that attach to the trigger don't fit the elite controller. There is probably no harm in trying it out. The fact the elite has hair triggers already means the clicky mechanism might not have space to go inside it. Personally I wouldn't bother. With the mods you want to do i think you would be better just fully modding a default controller.
I KEEP LOOKING FOR A GAMEPLAY OR REVIEW OF THE HAIR TRIGGERS BUT NOBODY POSTED any for any of the hair triggers available. I just BOUGHT MY HAIR TRIGGERS AND HOPE REMAP KIT FOR XBOX CONTROLLER
Due to the paddles, the internals on an elite are different (slightly) to the standard controller. I am unable to say if this would work. There are 2 different versions of the kit for different models of standard controller. Check the extremerate website to see what it says would be my advice. Personally, I wouldn’t try putting it in an elite.
You can buy controllers from hexgaming.com that use pretty much all of the extremerate parts including clicky (select digital hair triggers when building your controller). I don’t know if anywhere else. If you do go to hexgaming.com, you can use the code TOOTXB for a 5% discount. It’s not loads but it helps and does support the channel here :)
That's a good question. I don't see any reason for it not to as the circuitry controlling the triggers is probably the same. The xbox series x and xbox one x kist have a different moulding but I would *guess* that you would need the Series X/S Clicky kit for the Elite 2. However, I have not tried this and cannot commit it would work.
Hi. There are 2 versions which are advertised for controller models 1708 and 1914. The Elite 1 is model 1698 I think and the Elite 2 is 1797 and 1924 apparently. So I would not recommend it.
I can’t guarantee it would work as the internals on an elite are different to a standard controller. However, the Xbox one version of clicky for controller model 1708 would be the closest match. The elite basically has an extra circuit board. Like I say though, I cannot guarantee this would work and I’d advise checking with eXtremeRate.
I did think about this once before. The cost of buying parts, time and shipping though would make it more costly to me :) plus I could not offer a warranty. HEX Gaming do great controllers that you can have fitted with different extremerate parts.
