You know what I like about Jiren, he was simple..😌 no world domination, no 1000 year old beef to settle, no randomly absorbing people, he just got hands and they Rated E for Everybody🤣
He's great in design too how often did we get a grey alien in Super or Z? Plus me and my brother compared him to their equivalent to Superman in my eyes Toriyama basically gave us the Goku V Superman battle we deserved and absolutely delivered
I do like that he was simple, but I wish we had time to flesh him out. he was the antagonist for this tournament arc and it would've done wonders if they gave him more personality instead of I don't need friends, my power is enough. Because for the most part he seems more like a wall to overcome than a antagonist
@@ZaneWeiss You mean Sean? Dude he reacted and commented under my posts and he interacted me so kindly. That man is a born talent and really good person. Love him
The spirit bomb USED to only attack people with evil in their hearts, but that was back when it was just a little blast shot out of Goku's hand. Now that it grows big enough to be around the size of a small planet that no longer really applies
Well that was the same reason Goku wouldn't throw the spirit bomb against buu when Vegeta was still in the area. The mere size probably makes it so that it could damage anyone lol
I don't think it's like that, it's just the fact that only the once pure hearted can do the spirit bomb technique but the evil hearted can't control it, that's why gohan was able to deflect it to vegeta in the saiyan saga, so.. you're right too 😅😅
7:56 . For context this happens because he is emitting so much ki that an attack with only that much power can't penetrate through the wall of ki. Essentially if you're much weaker than say Goku then Goku's ki barrier would make it so you won't even be able to get near him. This is essentially a version of Gojo's ability that all of them have.
Whiss is so happy because they have been teasing this for the whole series (since the first fight in kamis planet i think), if you look back, he always talked about fighting with his body and not thinking. The UI was really well done and teased since the first arc. Thanks for combining the episodes and also looking at the japanese music pal!!
Ultra instinct gave fans the feel of the First Ssj transformation the way its power was shown. It brought back the element that dbs had lacked all along.
26:33 Fun fact: This kinda kick Goku did and Jiren dodged is a reference to a kick Super Saiyan Goku did against Freezer in their fight in Dragon Ball Z. The only difference is that when Freezer dodged, Goku made a down kick to hit him anyway and here he goes away from Jiren
The spirit bomb was originally only there to hurt evil people but I believe after he stopped using the one handed spirit bomb and switched to the big super spirit bomb it could just be thrown at everyone. Edit: The spirit bomb was compressed so much it practically became a black hole.
Spirit bombs no matter the method or size function the same. If their power is greater than the bomb it doesn't work. For example season 1 against vegeta. It damaged him but wasn't strong enough to kill him and buu pushed it back bc goku was too weak and he was just barley stronger than the bomb until goku powered up
30:49 Autonomous basically means free or unrestricted action. In martial arts there is a concept called Mushin: The way of no mind. Its a mental technique where someone clears their mind of all thoughts and distractions, allowing the body to react on sheer natural impulse rather than a mentally centric response. Whis actually explains it pretty well at one point: It takes more time for a specific signal to travel from the brain to a specific body part than it does for a specific part to have a triggered reaction. Think about it like those reflex tests where someone strikes your knee a certain way that makes it instantly jerk. Studies show that this an actual state someone can enter based on the production of theta brain waves, and Ultra Instinct is based on this state.
Fun fact: the spirit bomb was so powerful that in a scene that wasn’t part of the finished episode(s) of the 1 hour special the grand priest had to form a barrier around the Zenos to protect them
Kaio Ken x3 is already supposed to kill you but Goku pushed himself to x4 against Vegeta and then eventually x20 against Frieza. To go any higher than that would be too ridiculous
13:18 his eye thing is him emitting more ki to block shit, but I think the attack after is him punching much faster than their normal speed. Every time he uses it the opponent is as close as goku is.
16:17 the small version of the spirit bomb he used on Vegeta at the start of Z only homes in on evil energy, but the large spirit bomb while still works best on evil energy can still catch anybody in its blast regardless, which is why Goku was worried when Vegeta couldn't get out of the way against Buu (and also why Goku was getting scared when Jiren almost threw it back at him)
gotta love how ultra instinct is a real thing, like when youre doing something for so long you just forget everything else and go on autopilot mode for hours without realising it
The attack which disintigrates the evil is from gogeta i believe kind of a hakai i forgot the name but did you know that in manga master roshi fought jiren and used something same like ui and made goku remember all of his teachers in past which helped him unlock autonomous ultra instinct
i been watching your old vid the dragon ball reactions and its been 9 months since you saw the same episode with context its great man keep on going i truly enjoy watching them
Ultra Instinct is what Whis was trying to teach Goku and Vegeta from the very beginning of their training. But mind you, only the Angels like Whis can use this in full. That's why Whis moves the way he does.
Deadass the best dragon ball reactor…I was so disappointed knowing you were gonna hear that awesome song in the trash English version but my guy switched it🐐💀
@@Archive_7802 spoiler alert Goku blue vs jiren goes on, goku says that he need more power, roshi steps in, and teach goku how to move, and attack and dodge some of jirens punch, but at the end gets eliminated and goku understand all the masters he had, and awakens ui, sorry for my English, better search roshi vs Jiren
Hell yeah I’ve been waiting for this. It’s always nice to see a fresh pair of eyes experiencing Dragon Ball for the first time and getting as hyped as I was. Love your reactions man keep it up
This dominated the anime sites when it premired in 2017. It was literally the most hyped episodes that Dragon Ball Super received up to this point. I was too impatient to watch it sub so I watched it raw 😅
15:22 made laugh because freiza was talking about the spirit bomb from his bad memories he was in the same position from namek saga after goku hit him with spirit bomb.
One thing to note at the end when Frieza says “Its like Namek all over again.” He’s referencing the fact the Goku gave Frieza energy to escape Nameks Destruction and Frieza now is giving Goku energy to keep fighting
he was also implying when goku shot the beam down at frieza when frieza was on the ground i think imo he was saying it in a way of being cocky about the fact goku can't do anything at that moment the same way frieza felt at namek
i love your videos bro. you remind me of literally jumping over furniture trying to get back to the tv in time when my siblings would scream “ITS BACK ON”
That's actually perfect since you can't kill your opponents in this tournament. If the spirit bomb did have an effect on Jiren, it wouldn't have killed him. But would have killed someone like Frieza.
Autonomous basically means it only needs itself to operate, no help of any kind is needed. That means UI basically appears on its own accord and adjusts itself to the user. It also means he no longer even has to think to move, UI is doing it for him, Goku is just deciding the attacks pretty much, everything else the form itself is taking over
The Autonomous part of Autonomous Ultra Instinct just adds the implication that the user attacks and dodges without thinking, each part of the body isn't being controlled by the mind, it's all just happening without thought control. Originally the english sub didn't add that word, it was only for the dub. The original name for Ultra Instinct in Japanese was called Mastery of Self Movement, which is a lot more obvious than just Ultra Instinct. A lot of people thought the addition of Autonomous was dumb because Instinct already kind of shows what the state is about, but Instinct isn't necessarily autonomic as it follows how the brain naturally works for a given species, Ultra Instinct is meant to sever the link between the mind and body, allowing the body to react to danger on its own, allowing for maximum fighting efficiency. Also, what Frieza says: "It's like Namek all over again." Think back to everything that happened on Namek after Goku became a Super Saiyan and whooped his ass.
The best episode and the best moment in the anime history whenever I see this episode or remembering this episode i literally got goosebumps bro I'm really proud to be a Dragon Ball fan ❤️
This moment..... this moment brought a tear to my eye when I first saw it in 2017. As a lifelong Dragon Ball fan, to see the funny, adventurous little boy I grew up with achieve heights that not even Gods have reached was an incredibly special moment. Super has it's problems for sure. But man, the Tournament of Power has so many amazing moments that it eventually became my favorite saga since Cell saga. It only gets better from here....
Only if you seen and reacted years ago when it first dropped! Such a crazy ass time! Will always remember the chilling, hype moment of these 2 episodes yelling around😂🔥🤘🏽
My understanding is that the spirit bomb was only able to hurt evil people on the beginning, when it was something you could holding in your hand and throw. Once we hit the Freeza stage, the spirit bomb became a massive sphere of energy that you launch at people, and that sheer amount of raw energy will fuck you up physically regardless of what your heart looks like. There might be a different reason, I’m sure someone who knows better will let me know if I’m wrong.
That was a wild ride that Ultra Instinct is something else. Goku was on fire, the way he was moving. Too bad it ran out and here we go we got Freiza Mr don't trust anyone threatening Goku it seems like.
32:19 if the whole of super was always like this I would watch it forever bro this part looked perfect up to when gokus ui ran out the animation was perfect
The spirit bomb doesn’t hurt pure people but that’s when it’s like the size of a ball. When it’s as big as that it doesn’t matter how pure bc goku also takes dmg. It’s like how a pebble being thrown at you it doesn’t hurt but when it’s the size of a rock going at ungodly speeds you’re gonna feel the pain xD
AIMIN DID U NOTICE THAT JIREN DIDN'T RELEASE ANY AURA THE ENTIRE FIGHT, ONLY AT THE END WHEN UI USED THAT PUNCH, HE RELEASED SOME OF HIS AURA, ITS SOMETHING PRETTY INTERESTING
*YYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSS!!!!!!!* WOOOOOOOO!!!😁 MAN this is really making me remember the hype I had back then as these came out, thank you for pushing me and perhaps many others to revive the absolutely ungodly and truly striking experience this was haha. Thank You!!!😁👍!
