That is right. I am only adding that ultra instinct should not be seen as a transformation but a base form as Whis told Goku in the arc after this tournament. It is something only the angels and the grand priest are known to having mastered it so far. Probably they have their white hair from the full ultra instinct as the base form. In the current manga arc, Whis mentioned there is another transformation but he did not precise it since it should be only used in emergency. The Ultra Instinct without white hair is called Ultra Instinct Sign. You can only reach this form and the white form on your own by full control of your emotions. Once you control it, you can use the abilities of Ultra Instinct in every form. The god of destructions honor this form because their destroying thinking disables them to achieve Ultra Instinct. Even in the manga the full potential of Ultra Instinct is unknown yet. The disadvantage is the divine power needed for this. Once you are too exhausted from battle, you need some godly rank giving you the power for restoration of Ultra Instinct. When the preparation was ongoing for the tournament, it was said the grand priest (the guy here giving the comments and admitting defeat of universes) belongs to the 5 strongest people. Meaning he is (far) stronger than Whis. You do not know how high the power scaling will go in Super. Already when Vegeta fought Goku on earth or freezer vs goku on namek were strong enough to destroy a planet. Compared to this, Dragon Ball Super is like hundreds or thousands of times stronger. Just a sneeze or a punch in Ultra Instinct could blow a planet away.

Given what Whis said in the manga, the point basically is that Goku’s so used to fight by transforming that he unconsciously “turned” into a transformation what wasn’t supposed to be one.

Technically, it's a form for Goku, same with how Toppo transforms into a GoD. Yes, it's a technique, but for mortals, it's more of a transformation.

i dont think so, because goku has that same roar when in SSJB and if i recall SSJG, so my theory is that the roar is actually the god ki coarsing through him adding to his voice.

If you read manga you know that Whis and Goku said that he is far from mastering it, I can't post pictures on youtube so I can't show you a specific manga panel where this was written.

Yeah they had the Gods of Destruction test it out with a fight to see how durable it was (in the manga at least). I’m pretty sure that’s where we discover Beerus is the strongest God of Destruction

he never had UI itself. it was simply his raw power after breaking his limit. UI comes from how pure and in control the user’s mind is. goku was able to calm his mind (as whis mentioned) to where he tunnel visioned on only jiren and the fight

Jiren in the anime is more of a beilveable charcter tho. Jiren shows emotion and vunerbaility when it concerns his trauma and of course he would fly off the handles if hes had to bottle it up for so long. makes him pretty relatable to my own expiernces ive had with trust, loneliness and pain. and in the end he is set for the path of healing, wich is really wholesome.

@@bennogb5069 he still goes through that in the manga tho! he just doesnt resort to underhanded tactics when he denounces friendship and trust, he chooses instead to prove it fairly. plus the manga goes deeper into his backstory than "parents dead, now unga bunga strong" so he actually has some measure of depth

The fight in the manga feels so much less powerful because we see jiren go toe to toe with so much weaker characters (roshi, a non-powered up goku) without really being as all-powerful as he is in the anime. Sure, his character may be a bit richer, but that doesnt really concern me in a fighting anime when the main antagonist (he’s not really a villain) is very much beatable from the getgo. Thank god for separate continuities though, they let both stories be told
