We just ordered the RiverStone 421FK, which is the non-toy hauler version of this floorplan. We're really excited. RiverStone's quality is top-notch! I will be working FT from the road, so the desk was a must and fits the bill for me. The kitchen is amazing. This is the most residential feeling 5th Wheel we've ever walked into. We did order it with MORryde's IS.

I have this in the 2021 model year. Not much has changed besides colors inside, and wall textures. Doing solar upgrades now! It's by far the most user friendly full time toy hauler out there. I've owned 4 toy haulers, this is my last. The kitchen is what sold me on this floor plan.

Beautiful rig ……. But only 2800 lbs cargo. So if you put whatever toy in the back (5-700lbs) and you fill the kitchen with cook wear). And you add the weight of the washer/dryer. And then add the weight for clothes to fill all the storage in the bedroom…….. the frame might not break but don’t get pulled over by the D.O.T.

I know i'm in the minority but i am not at all a fan of the kitchen in this model. When we started our search for an RV this one was pretty high up on our list. We too thought the kitchen was just spectacular based off what we saw online, that is until we actually saw one in person and spent sometime in it really looking around and imagining what cooking in it would be like. The problem with the kitchen is a few things. Thing 1 is it lacks a proper pantry space. Thing 2 is It looks spacious but when you really look at live the cabinets are not very spacious and it lacks storage. When we imagined all our dishes, glasses, pots and pans etc in there it left almost zero room for food. Thing 3 is the "flow" of the kitchen is horrible. Having the trash across the kitchen from the sink when your prepping is sub optimal , where your prep space is vs where all your pots/pans and utensils are is also sub optimal. The location of the microwave is horrible, etc. As a couple that likes to cook that also live in their RV full time this kitchen was just not going to work, we felt like we would be doing laps around the kitchen constantly. We wanted to really like it but just could not get past the layout of the kitchen. What we bought is a DRV JX450 and we found the kitchen layout to be perfect for us and we realized that very quickly after touring both of them back to back in Tampa. Not only is the layout more functional we have more storage in the kitchen than what is offered in the Riverstone and all of our kitchen stuff fit in there with room to spare and we have plenty of pantry space too.

I met a man that had this rig several times in several different parks and he pulled it with a ford F-350 dully and he says he wished he had a bigger truck for full time pulling. Yes it’s beautiful and built like a beast but to tow it a lot I think you need more than a one ton truck.

You definitely don't. If you have the money to buy this, which I have, there is performance upgrades on trucks you can do that will allow you to pull this with no issues. I even have aftermarket gas tank along with fuel system. Much more efficient.

@@ITIRICI It's not the towing capacity that's the limiting factor. It's the payload. Performance upgrades won't boost the payload...

JD appreciate your videos. I actually purchased a Riverstone over some competitors, because of the steel framing you mentioned in earlier reviews and my own research. I found not one Riverstone with frame flex (knock on wood). I guess if I had one complaint it would be the use of 8k axel on their two axel units...seems a bit light for a 20k lbs trailer. Keep up the great work!

This RV hit all the marks. The kitchen has a great layout. Even having the stove in the island makes good sense. The toy hauler area is the right amount of space.

I just walked through this unit today. My issues with the kitchen are opening the microwave door can be tight with the island behind you. The other issue I found was opening the fridge doors (top recesses) my hand gets pinched between the radiused valance above it and the fridge doors.

I pinched my hand the first time I walked into one of these front kitchen RiverStones. It only took that one painful moment for me to figure out there's a recessed pull spot on the bottom side of the fridge doors

This should be only pulled with a HD single axle semi. 21000lbs is to heavy even for the 5500, because air breaks are needed to controll it. And most fifthwheel hitches only goto 25k.

Ram's factory optional fifth wheel hitch, made by Curt, is rated at 30k. A newer Ram dually with the Aisin trans and HO engine is rated to tow over 30k. All Riverstones come standard with disc brakes. If you've never experienced them on a triple axle 5er, I can assure you that air brakes are not needed. The biggest reason for a truck bigger than a 1 ton with one of these trailers is the pin weight, which will often put the truck near its cargo capacity.

I feel like since the garage is smaller, there should be sleeping space for more than 2 people besides the sofa sleeper. Even the bedroom is a bit smaller for this caliber of an RV. But overall, its a beast,

The floor heat vent right in front of the shower is a head scratcher. Why not move it a couple feet toward the wall so it’s out of the way when entering and exiting the shower.

Don't like sleeping over garage where oil and atf smells originate. Would worry about toys being stolen outside especially in mexico with a slippery Mexican. Too heavy, need a new overpriced truck.

I'd love to know what the height is with the bed all the way down. Would a full dresser motorcycle fit under the bed? Also could you lay in the bed when it's in the upright position. I love the floor plan, could it possibly have a sale price of less than $140,000?

Bob and Barb from Hetteshworld have this model and they fit their Spyder CanAm in the garage with the bed in the fully down position, so I'd think a full dresser (I own a HD FLHTK for reference) would fit in the garage with the bed down.

My Indian Roadmaster fits with the bed down. I wouldn't try to use the bed unless it's all the way down and fully supported. In the fully raised position you'd need a small ladder to get on it.

Well, each Firest River division has the ability to make what they want to make largely the way they want to make it. And they are struggling with many of the issues some other brands are.

Hey JD,I hope you're having a great day! I love the Riverstone Legacy fifth wheels, because of the way they are made! I like this unit the way its not your traditional toy hauler. I think I would leave the living room the way it is and not have two tri-fold sleeper sofas in it. I so wish it had the shower hardware that has all the sprayer ports on it! I love the different color contrast in this unit. Thank you for showing us this unit

Everything is great except the floor heatvent right outside the shower. The should have vented to shower tray and had horizontal grill on tray bottom coming into bathroom. Or same into bottom of sink cabinets.

I’ll never buy a Fleetwood unit again . The bolts to hold the sidings up were faulty . The siding was dropping and it fell under a warranty issues . 5 months to totally repair it . Never again fleetwood . I was told they used the wrong fastener bolts

This is very nice and I wouldn't mind having it, though I want my king-size bed and since I don't have any toys I really don't need it for me and my wife since we are not full timers. I do want to say that I have heard of one couple, a RU-vidr was having a problem with his Riverstone 5th wheel frame, he had a video out on how their Riverstone frame broke some how don't remember how but he took it to a company that did repair work on frames. My dually has a 5242lbs payload and since I'm not a full-timer I won't have a problem but I have seen people that tow their Riverstone with 1 ton dually with no problem, this is above our leveler for just a weekender.

Our '22 42FSKG was purchased for $155K, 2 years ago. This was with every option available, including the IS package from Morryde. We're full-time, towing with a Class 8 Volvo semi. Safe Travels.
