Ultrawide Monitor Tier List - OLED & Mini LED (Q2 2024)
Today we are doing a tier list of the best ultrawide monitors I have reviewed so far. This includes exclusively OLED and Mini LED monitors which are capable of displaying a good HDR picture. UPDATE: I accidentally overlayed around 2 minutes of B-roll on top of the 57" Neo G9 section. Not sure how I missed that.

I have the G95SC G9 OLED 49" and it's nearly perfect but I feel it needs to be at least 1600p instead of 1440p. All the super ultra wide OLEDs out there are way too cramped screen height-wise :\

I Got the asus pg34wcdm a few weeks ago and iv no idea what might be wrong with your unit but the monitor looks great! The image is clean and clear and the 800R curve feels really nice to use for gaming. and the matt coating is not really a problem, iv got a glossy msi QD monitor and it doesn't really look much different when playing games or watching movies, it's a great monitor.

I don’t think it make sense to buy any gen1 Samsung panel right now unless you can get it for ~$600ish. New msi @ $1100 just makes $800 not worth it.

Bought a 42" q92c (144hz), I'm happy with it. I'm so glad that I don't feel so much conflict over a monitor purchase anymore.

@GregKealey to each his own. In my case, my monitor is used part time for my wife's work and the rest of the time for my gaming, browsing the web and light video editing so 1440p is plenty but I'd love a 4k monitor down the road.

I have the LG 45gr95qe-b I’ve had it for a week now and I love it especially for gaming I’m coming from a 27” cura 1080p this is my first high end monitor and my pc is my first high end build it’s a 7800x3d paired with a 7900xtx

I have the Lg45gr95qe i rly love the size and the curve but man i was a little disappointed when looking at the colors, I'm not sure if it's the matt coding but i just didn't feel like it looked htat diffrent from my va panel. I mean the black looks way better but the rest is not that amazing

i really dont know what samsung was thinking w/ the 57"" neo g9. Its big, yes, but aside from amd cards that have the 2.1 dp, it is next to imposssible to run it at native specs for modern titles, and not to mention there are no companies that have monitor arms that will offically support it. Ergotron is the closet but you have to use screws to prop the screen so it doesnt sag

Who needs to run it at native specs? I'm planning to get this one as my first monitor since they got flat. Not even kidding, I've been on just a 17" laptop fopr dedades as ready to get serious. No gamer but intend to give sim racing a serious shot as a 47 yo total rookie. This one monitor which seems to do desk work outstandingly, is also good enough for all but the nerdiest sim racers that need triples, quads and quints. 240 Hz is cool, but I doubt I'm going to tell the difference from 120 Hz, so until I learn otherwise, I need not spec a laptop or desktop to do anything I'll use over 120 Hz, but getting just about there with a sim racer at high detail would be mega sweet and a 4080 or 4090 will get me there. I may do racing on 1080P if I end up with a temporary PC or a new laptop (will need one anyone) to get me going. How's a 57" for watching cinematic movies? It would have to be a solo desktop experience I suppose, but I'm also planning to get my first TV in decades to ahve something to watch from the couch. HDMI 2.1 already tucked under my new floor for convenience :)

Hey display guy bud. By any chance chance can you provide info about the mod s90C you have that allows you to hit 1400nits on your 55 I’m either going to buy a S95C my third one hoping blackouts issues at finally gone but if I do that according to rtings peaks at 1200nits 3% and 10% window so my question is how did you get higher when you went in service menu and changed your s90C name to s95c giving you higher than actually s95c also considering maybe I should buy a S90d and change name to S95D to see if it mode the same way for 1600nits

I don’t want to post anything publicly because of it maybe voiding warranty or potential for damage, but if you read online if you have the right model code you just change it to the corresponding S95C model code in the service menu.

3 Monitors of Samsung g8 oled 34 inch , one was working good boought for 1300 Euro and 2 others had issues including a line in the middle of the screen after a week of use. Returned the G8 couldnt justify the 300 Euro price difference back then and bought AW3423DWF for 933 Euro and kept it since August 2023 no issues at all. Tried the Asus pg34wcdm for 1266 Euro open box like new, as it was retailing for 1450 Euro, I bough it although the displayguy said it ain;t good just because I wanted that immersive curve that helps with warzone as its easier to see the whole screen and the 240hz more frames and fluidity, loved the monitor and its features however the matt cover was not good, it is not as clear as the glossy alienware which has much superior image clarity and better colors. So I returned the Asus and kept the alienware, still waiting for an Ultrawide 34 inch 240hz qd oled. The display guy is right, once you go glossy your eye would not like that agressive matt layer on all the WOLED monitors.

At this second I have the LG 45” 2024 edition and it’s amazing for gaming… but the text quality sucks balls so much so I also have the Alienware AW3423DWF 34" sitting side by side… and I’m going to move to the smaller Alienware. I’m definitely going to miss the size but I just can’t with bad text on a multi-use monitor. I 100 percent want a 40” ish 21:9, 4k monitor with crisp text, 1ms gtg, and 240hz… too much to ask for????

alienware is poop tier, recommend avoding them like the plague, their customer support will fight you. And if you get a shitty calibrated panel youre shit out of luck because you hdr locks everything.
