It would be a good home defence item...if "home defence" in the uk and germany with weapons wasn't considered assault. You can end up in more trouble than the home invader. It's ridiculous but just wanted to point it out
@@scottmurray4080 Here in the uk, the term "defensive weapon" doesn't exist apparently. All weapons are labeled as "offensive" and it is illegal to carry any article intended as a weapon, be it for self defence or not. So basically if you get held up or threatened by people in the streets or your home by criminals... You are powerless unless you want to end up in the same trouble the criminals will be in when they have finished putting you in hospital or killing you.

You're getting into the territory of the Umarex AirJavelin airbow now on the foot pounds of energy, with slugs, through thick tin cans, wow. That's really impressive! The Airjavelin is like 34fpe for 170 grain bolt on a 90 gram CO2 tank. You've cranked this gun up to 11 with some good mods, double digit fpe and fps numbers in it's range and above for small grain shots and it's as impressive as any 12 gram CO2 tank powered gun could hope to be. No wonder it's got a loud crack indoors in that room, hehehe, it has a good crack outside, unmodded in the 7.5 Joule version too judging by videos and one of the most distinct paintball/riot ball gun sounds ever. It's destined to become the AK47 of the paintball and non lethal defense world, with a crack like no other. What an enthusiast, love your channel and the best part about this video (besides a hole clear through the can, lol) was the slug was still intact and possibly reusable?! Good job, you don't see that every day with homemade slugs on other channels. I'm already a fan of this gun and just bought it, but you turned me into a superfan.
Thank you my friend. Iam very glad you like my videos. The HDR50 is a powerhouse. The bolt can sometimes jam in the cylinder, but you just wiggle the cylinder loose and it will fire. If you oil the chambers a bit before loading it wont jam. The barrel can sometimes also jam, but just remove the cylinder and push on the barrel from the inside. That normaly cures the jam. Its a very cool revolver and I love it to :) Take care and happy shooting :)
@@runerebel8441 Yeah I saw a guy from Replica Airguns testing it and it was an odd thing when it jams. Make sure it's pointed in a safe direction when you do get it to cycle and unjam the cylinder, because once the shot lines up with the barrel the gun will shoot that charge it was going to before the jam. It happened to him and when he turned cylinder into position, it fired a rubber round into his cabinet beside him. And he said "ooo, I didn't like that, that's concerning and I don't like that. It's a weird system in this gun. This highlights the importance of pointing your weapon in a safe direction". Yeah, weird but a powerful shooter nevertheless, thank's Umarex, hehehe.
@@MrBilld75 Yes its a strange design. But if I remember to lube the chambers in the cylinder it works fine. Maybe some "wet`n`dry" sandparer around the edge of the chambers will cure this issue to. Not sure...
@@runerebel8441 I noticed how religious you are about the silicone lube, very wise and I am big believer in lube preventing many problems, in many things (like vehicles). I also loved your info. and tip about why Umarex CO2 cylinders were better than say Crosman etc. Unfortunately, I have trouble getting Umarex CO2 here where I live, it's Daisy or Crosman. I could order them, but not a lot of places here in Canada carry them and getting them from the U.S. can be kind of a hassle. They don't ship CO2 here by air or optics from the U.S. (which is so weird, but that's how it goes).
@@MrBilld75 Iam glad my videos are usefull. The ASG brand also seems like a good CO2, but if I dont get my favorit brands I use whatever I can find. But I might get leaks and also gunk and metal shavings inside the valve. I think both Daisy and Crosman CO2 are better than other non branded types. Crosman also has some silikoneoil inside the capsules (or they used to have it). So dont worry to much. If it leaks a good cleaning normaly fixes it ;) Cheers :)
To fix the threading problem wipe it down good then use 1 or 2 drops of O-ring oil smear it around with finger and it goes right in and out really easy.
Good morning, wow, that really is a hand cannon. Definitely a great home defence item. 20ftlbs for an air pistol is more than 3 times what we can have here in uk. Great video as always. I have recently came into contact with a 40cal 4ft blowgun/blowpipe which is interesting, , it shoots long needle-like darts. It can be taken down into 2 halves to put in a survival bag. Great fun, darts are very cheap, and actually has a bit of power penetrating a pineapple at 10metres. It would be a viable close range small game hunter for survival, putting food in the pot if all else fails. All the best from lancashire uk

@@runerebel8441 Hi yes, the uk has some crazy laws as well. You can have all kinds of super powerful crossbows, compound bows, but you cannot have an air pistol exceeding 6ftlbs or an air rifle above 12ftlbs unless you have a firearms certificate. Crazy because some crossbows are nearly 20 times the power of our air rifles. You can hunt with air rifles and pistols but hunting with a bow or crossbow is illegal but yet they would be alot more humane than airguns. All the best again from lancashire uk.

@@topshot2787 in the UK too buddy. Blowguns are illegal here as far as I'm aware (Dunno why) Best paintball gun available for power would be the FSC paintball pistol. You'll reach over 30 joules with an Allen key..illegal obviously but just sharing some info.
@@ldon6608 Yes are correct there chap. Uk laws are so all over the place. Legal to hunt with lower powered air weapons as long as you have permission of land owner. Illegal to hunt with more powerful weapons like bows and crossbows even though they would be more humane. Did have a go on blowgun but it wasnt my blowpipe by the way. Do not know why blowguns are illegal, they are good fun but yet you can go and buy a high power slingshot and a load of 9mm steel shot legally that would do more damage. Important to stay safe, keep other people safe and show people/children how to be responsible so that they can pass that on and hope they havent outlawed all fun by that time. Thanks my friend. Last time I tested it I got 16 shots from one CO2. Maybe it was a faulty CO2 canister. The gun uses more CO2 when shooting heavyier slugs I guess. Not sure. More testing is needed :)
Hi there! What a nice power upgrade! I have I question: What If you could use .50 cal steel balls? A .50 cal steel ball is around 8.5 gr, so do you think this will have a powerful impact? Or maybe this balls can destroy the inner barrel? Thanks!
Thanks. Yes it has quite a bit power now. They dont sell steel balls in cal 50 here, but it should work. No idea what sort of energy they would give but I think they are to heavy for this gun. If the balls are 12,5mm they should fire without any problems. Cheers :)
Imagine that small 50 cal ball weights almost 2.7 kilos. Now drop it on your solar plexus from one meter height. That's equivalent joules to an 4.5 cal 315m/s rifle.
Hi. With the short barrel I get around 20+ joules, but with the long barrel I can get over 30 joules. This is using heavy 86 grn/5,6 gram slugs at ca 20C.

You got some high power from that kit, i realy like the look of the shotgun version and maybe buy one as a christmas gift to myself, one thing tho, these are sold as a "Home defence" non lethal weapon, but i would NEVER point one of these at another person breaking in to my home or in self defence, you never know what type of weapon "the bad guy" has, if he has a knife or a real gun these will probably get you in more trouble than if you are unarmed! But it is a fun plinker killing tincans and stuff

I really wanna see some further testing on this. I have seen a few videos of the upgraded shotgun version and it's sending metal projectiless through a coconut which is supposedly harder then a human head.

Thank you for this video my friend, and Wow! a Lot of destructive power out of the Revolver. it is Now a descent Home protection gun. I would think that penetration into a Gel block it would penetrate at least a couple inches deep. I was hoping for at least 12 shots or two cylinders worth of shots for a quick cylinder reload. So I may be able to adjust the weight of the Slug to get the number of shots, i am looking for at least 12 shots per 12 gram co2 cartridge.
Impressive Sir, I would think it had more shots to give but due to the volume of gas needed to push those heavy slugs the internals my have froze allowing the gun to de-gas. In any case great video, I wonder how hard it would hit in Hawaii, being our ambient temperature is 80+ degrees
Yes there is. You can buy that from www.homedefence-24.com and other places. I was sendt one as a gift but it failed... The internals of the shroud melted, and the shroud cracked. Not sure I can recomend one... 🤔
Nifty I guess. Just HPA a Crosman SBR BB gun. For the same or lower cost you have a select fire BB gun firing at 800 - 1000 FPS and you can sustain fire. Also even though it's a 4.5mm steel or brass BB it'll cut that can in half in the blink of an eye.
Yes. I know. I had one. But different gun for different purposes. This HDR50 is a paintball marker tuned for more power. With the right slugs it can be used for home defence, not just blasting cans ;)
I also tried to make ammunition of this type, it is obvious that the output power is high but being limited cmq I prefer to use ammunition that does not exceed 3 grams to also have a longer range.
When tested last time I got 16 shots from one CO2 canister. It depends on what slugs you use. I havent tested for accuracy yet. I make more videos later :)
Thanks bro. I have problems with the neighbours and cops here, but I will se if I can do some other kind of shooting tests later. It has nice power now. Jumping up from 7,5 joule to 29 joule. But the ammo plays a good deal in the energy to. Heavy ammo around 80 grns in weight seems to work best :)
Would it be possible to upgrade the gas system to use a large gas tube from a pcp air rifle as some of those tubes are a bit thinner but also longer I'm thinking if you fitted an extension to the tube the same size as the existing gas cannister you wouldn't have to modify the gun, Would that produce more power or would you have to increase the valve size to match?

I would be curious about a test in which to use a thick winter coat to cover the can ..... something that imitate a person. but what happened? after the fifth shot it sounded unnatural .... Hei Mikael. Hyggelig du liker videoene mine. Med vanlig pipe og lette gummikuler (1 gram) får du rundt 14 joule. Med tyngre kuler ca 18-20 joule. Jeg tror slugs/kuler på ca 3 gram er det ultimate når det gjelder kraft og max anntall skudd. Enkleste måte å få mer kraft på er å øke løpslengden. Så en video fra Taiwan der en kar hadde laget seg langt løp av 1/2 tom vannrør. Han hadde trimmet ventilen til max, og han fikk ca 33 joule. Ganske utrolig å tenke på når den orginalt er laget for å gi ca 7 joule ;) Flere videoer kommer. Ha det bra. Mvh Rune

I really think aboute to buy this, i like how it increases the Power but only 5 shots is not that much. Is it just because of the slugs? What aboute the normal plastic or rubber balls?
I have only used it 3 times afther the power mod. This video was the second time. I guess it was a faulty CO2 canister. In my last video it gave ca 15 shots before it was out of CO2

I will defenetly Check out the slug maker. But first i try it with the Muzzlebrake that i bought at ram-shop24.de They also offer great Tuning parts for these guns. I can recommend the aluminum drum magazin for the hdr 50, it makes the pull of the Trigger much more smooth. Thank you and merry Christmas for you and your Family.
Hey my friend. I cast them with my cal 36 (9,5mm) mould for blackpowderguns. I had this before back in the days where I shot with firearms. These lead balls was something left from then. They happend to be the same size as the 9,5mm steel balls for slingshots. I just put one 9,5mm ball in each chamber in the Slugmaker and fill the rest of the chamber with hotglue. It seems to work very well :)

It makes a huge difference. The barrel comes in two parts and is screwed together. You can get it from www.homedefence-24.com along with other tuning parts and the Slugmaker5026

Thank you my friend. I got 29 joule because of the heavy slugs. With lighter weight slugs it shoots at around 22-24 joule. it all depends on the ammo, plus the Powerkit50 ofcourse. I havent tested the Devestator ammo yet. I got some slugs in the box along with the Powerkit and Slugmaker. Think they are Devestators but Iam not 100% sure. Will try them later. Cheers :)
@@runerebel8441 I saw the ammunition you got in the video where your new stuff arrived! That should be the High Speed or Ultra High Speed Ammunition! The difference is in the size of the steelball! So there are 3 different Versions to find: High Speed (big Steel ball) Ultra High Speed (bigger steel ball) Devestator (biggest steel ball) But the devestators are from another Producer! They also have the best price but I didn't tested them yet! I have the ultra speed ammunition and it's really good but I don't have a chrony to test the real power! I have two T8.1 and know they are powerful. Most I got out of them was 33 joule using breakerballs. I dont have the Grimburg to try but I guess it can go over 40 joule with those..
I really hope you don't have to use it. Be advised if you do, you will have to justify why you modified a weapon to be more or closer to lethality. If its just for fun, then have a good time.
Not sure. I have used plenty of silikoneoil in it. Both on the bolt (inside &out) plus oil in the chambers. Also put Vaseling on the sluges and chambers, but so far nothing is dieseling. So I doubt it work..
