Subscribed to the channel and really like the content your sharing. My son and I hang out all the time working on our project cars...His 64 Impala and My 67 Convertible Impala. Sounds like you are in WA State as I am. Your car is 100%. Stay focused and never stop wrenching.
Awesome! Thanks for the support. Always great to connect with other car folks. I am in WA. Hoping to get this car on the road for some shows this summer.
I just installed my UMI control arms. Had no issues with the passenger side but did damage the tie rod and had to order a new one. When I was installing my lower arm on the driver side I really struggled to get it lined up with the bolt holes. I could get one bolt in but the other would go. I could get a small punch in one hole and pry a little but couldnt get the bolt in. I ended up sharpening the end of a bolt then driving it through with a hammer. After I put everything on and lowered the car I realized it sits way too low. I started with the nut about an inch from the bottom...should have set it about 2 inches from the bottom. BTW, I went with red.
@@MrGriffin23 I was surprised at how much it changed the way my Chevelle drives and rides..somethings you do dont make much difference and you question why you did it, but its like night and day difference esp at high speeds. I had the car aligned and a few days later drove to a carshow an hour away.
Hey i just installed the Umi upper and lower arms did you notice any issue with bump stop on the upper hindering getting the ball joint to reach the nuckle
Can probably find on Summit too. Upper www.umiperformance.com/home/product/64-72-gm-body-1-2-taller-premium-ball-joint/ Lower www.umiperformance.com/home/product/proforged-1964-1972-gm-a-body-lower-ball-joint-1-2-tall/
The 1/2 increase in length along with the aftermarket arms increase overall handling by correctly the geometry from the original stamped arms and ball joints. Mainly I wanted to for handling and keep the tires flat on the roads during turns.
Let me share something with you, there’s a “button” icon that looks like arrows: it’s called “fast forward” you are more than welcome to use that at anytime when watching RU-vid videos. Thanks for the feedback. 👊🏾
