I am a supporter of this Channel. There are lot of expenses for keeping this channel alive. E.g., Bart Ehrman charged $1000/hr for that interview on BT. Of course he uses the money for charity work. Please support BT financially through the Patreon link given under description. Let us do our part.
Really! I didn't know that! I thought Bart just agreed to come because the BT got popular over time. I hope at least the muslim guests don't charge money from BT as it is spreading the khair.
@@Naruto-db8yg yes. In addition, Paul needs to invest in equipments, buy books, and cover travel expenses. Keep in mind Paul is doing this full time and he has to support himself. He is doing a fabulous job and with passion. You can see it in the quality of the content and his productivity. The work he is producing is substantive and he is filling a much needed gap. Kindly tell your friends and acquaintences about this channel and please ask them to support. If I remember, one can support at $5/mo, $15/mo, $36/mo. $15 is less than what it costs for 3 Starbucks coffee! If we can't spare that much to support a channel like this, our claim that we want to defend and revive Islam is hollow. Remember, there is no Ottoman Caliphs or system alive today too support such works. It is our collective duty now (fard kifaya).
@@BloggingTheology Paul, Knowing the situation I am doing this on my own without any request from you. Can you pin my post on top, please. Most people are not aware of the need for supporting this work financially. Insha Allah, I will keep posting these messages for next few months until enough people supports your work on a sustainable basis.
MashaAllah brother Paul another great video, Jazakum Allah Khairun this will do wonders for non Muslims and Muslims alike. Have a blessed evening brother Paul salam alaykum wa Rahmatullah.🤍☕🥧
This is about the best video I've watch in your channel, 70+ minutes and it's all worth it. Very comprehensive report, thank you very much for sharing this with us. But surprised why only 8k views. Can I suggest we create subtitles for other languages to increase views? Love from Singapore.
Walahi I can't explain how I feel inside! I was following the channel for couple of years now, but this episode and the one you did with Imam Tom was a paradigm shift🤯
Mashaallah this is my ultimate favorite lecture. I hope this speaker returns again soon. I enjoy most of the lectures but this one I can apply and use right now.
Thank You both from the bottom of my heart! Jazaakumullahu khairan! A very constructive presentation which really helped me personally to clear up some fog in my own mind. This very clean/clear top down approach (peeling the layers) helps me immensely to organize my thoughts ... and I see that you were just touching the top/outer layers ... more to come hopefully. (Some layers deeper it might become "controversial" I assume ... so maybe thankful for your careful treading :) )
I can’t thank you enough for these discussions. You’ve introduced me to a an entire field of scholarship I would have never dared to explore. Would you please post a list of books and reading material as reference lists for those interested to learn about Islam from different backgrounds and dedicate one for muslim youth growing in the west? You are doing very important work May Allah guide and protect you and grant you and us the companionship of Prophet Muhammad.
I am yet to listen to this discussion but whole heartedly looking forward to it. A request to brother Paul: would you mind having an in depth discussion on Sharia law if possible? Seeing as how the Taliban have reinforced their version of a so-called 'Sharia law' and a lot of misinformation is being spread yet again. Would appreciate it greatly. Regards.
I am thoroughly impressed with your guest. Finally a visionary with practical solutions for the plight of Muslims around the world. This should be disseminated far and wide and we should all do our part to make it a reality. I would add though that the problems are not only in Muslim minority states but also Muslim majority states ruled by autocrats who only use the religion as a means of control. Look forward to his recommendations about Muslims living in oppressive majority states.
Thank you so very much for the efforts you're doing to enlightening us with such good ideas with your knowledgeable respected guests! But I want you to have some rest , because the umah needs you for a long time! May Allah the almighty bless you and bless your knowledge and bless all your honorable guests !
May Allah swt bless you for your dua for Paul. All of us will die sooner or later. What is needed is we need to help Paul to institutionalize the work he has been doing single handedly and with great success. Support his work financially.
Am an anthropologist, and keen on further academia in Anthropology of Religion, and hope to find an online curriculum in any university... InSha'Allah!
Aslmz ... perhaps we need a unified ummah body representing made up of representatives of all parts of both the majority and minority Muslims in the world based on this report.
Dear Paul, Impressive interview. Do invite Peter Hitchens someday and talk about demise of religion in West, maybe invite him to Islam? Also, maybe debate Cosmic Skeptic and obliterate his atheism in a debate. Regards.
Thank you again for this blog. Morality based solidarity, whatever the common thread, religion, innate consciences and altruism, neighborliness, etc. must be a good thing for the world. May Mr. Birt be successful. I'm confused about the use of "liberal" as a term for anti-Muslim thinking. I am an American liberal. I am part of and financial donor to a charity that specifically supports impoverished new arrivals here, mostly refugees from Muslim countries. Conservatives, by definition, support maintaining the status quo. Famously conservative president Trump based his policies on excluding Muslim immigrants as a way to maintain the status quo; supposedly "Making America Great Again". As a liberal, I embrace the cultural richness these immigrants bring. And helping them is just the right thing to do. How is it that I, as a western liberal, am harming Islam while conservatives with their racist attitudes and policies are not?
#Chuck. It may be how the definition of liberal, progressive or other associated terms apply. Anti-Islam, Islamophobia, anti-muslim, racism or anything that is anti-pluralism or anti-universalism cannot be liberal or progressive. Islam promotes universalism, in an and as an. an ethical community/society as Mr. Birt alluded to when defining Ummah. Respect for diversity and the appreciation of/for/by the Other is the key to our world today.
@@yousufcajee I agree. So why do Muslim commentors describe "Western Liberalism" as a bane of Islam? Liberal means conservative? I believe Torys (aka conservatives) invented the reprehensible "Prevent" policies. Where I am, western liberals are Islam's best friend.
When Muslims say "liberals are anti-Islam", my understanding is that , they often mean "the progressive secular liberals" who shove their "moral" vision down the throat of traditional family based societies. Muslims, like practicing Christian, don't accept this. Historically, Muslims have been the most tolerant of other religions. Read about Ottoman rule and how all religions had the freedom to practice their religion for almost 700 years of their history.
Dear #Chuck & others. Most Muslims are against some liberal stances / trends or what can be termed tendencies. These are the LGBQT+.. abortions without restrictions and other such contradictions, phobias &/or values detrimental to people and society / humanity. These values cannot be imposed or promoted for Muslims by such liberalism./progressiveness. An maxim in Islam has it as, "there is no compulsion in religion" that faith or Islam cannot be enforced / imposed on people, that people have freedom of conscience, to believe or not to. my humble thoughts & statements. It'll be nice to converse more on the issues with Mr Hiller & Our Others here. Thank you.
I agree that liberals being inclusive are friendlier towards Islam than conservatives. The point being made here is that Islam claims to have the truth which is antithetical to liberal values. However, while claiming to have the truth, it also accepts that others may not agree with it. A big point of departure is probably when it comes to women's rights which viewed through the liberal lens appear to be oppressive to women and LGBTQ. Conservative Muslims are leery that while claiming to accept Muslims, liberals want want to dilute their beliefs.
What minority? We are marching forward to be the majority by far.. No one can be in denjal forever, when they are faced with facts upon facts in this era of science and easy information..
What are you saying?? Era of science and 'mis' information Where on earth Muslims in India are going to be majority?? Of current growth rate continues, Muslims in India are expected to peak at 20℅ of population by 2080. They won't grow further.
Does the myth of the Mahdi actually undermine efforts with regards to making real change as people just passively wait for somebody else to sort it out?
Islam's a political system first, which is a big part of why students of knowledge are expected to lie about Shariah when speaking to non-Muslims. From the days of Sa'd and Umar, they were well aware without lies Islam dies. To date this alongside apostasy laws are directly credited to being the sole reasons Islam still exists today, typically by the highest scholars on the subject.
This people you mentioned never lie in their life Time thats why they were unbreakable the became so powerfull through out History and empire stand before them stop being deceitfull
