I just wanted to record a little update following on from my hospital video, at least to show I did get out eventually but that all hasn't been going as well as i'd like it to be.
I don't particularly like puting out videos where I feel like I'm whinging but I'm so fed up of myself and how I feel, its difficult not to - keeping it real as always but always on the search fro the brighter side.

I was with my husband through all his gruelling treatments to support him. My heart ached to see what he was going through. So pleased that John is by your side. Stay strong!! Diagnosed with bowel cancer 20 years ago. Had an excellent old fashioned GP who spotted something was wrong early. Thanks to an excellent local surgeon (thank you Miss Cheek) I am still here today aged 77. My heart goes out to you and all the other patients who have to deal with a cancer diagnosis.

Don't ever say you're "stupid", or "deserve" a stern word. You're on the steepest of learning curves - and helping so many others with your honesty and sincerity. Love the glow in your eyes as you speak of John's care and the prospect of seeing your grandson. Rooting for you Mandy - and so much respect.

You are wonderful! You must realise that you are priority. This is so tough it needs to be all you focus on and in a few months you will be through your treatment. You're both doing fantastically well. I've never been on the chemo side, but I've been the carer and it's incredibly hard. You're in the background of it all and yet incredibly important to the healing process for the person you're supporting. Well done John.

Ah Mandy sending you hugs , I was admitted every cycle of my chemo …. You not stupid at all , it is too much ….i was always told not to take paracetamol and always go in if temp went above 37.6 …it’s a learning curve but as long as all those meds are doing their job you’ll get there, listen to your body and always ring your chemo unit if you feel like crap xxx

Oh Mandy- that sounds horrible for you, and shame on those police for not being understanding. You’re having to deal with so much. Hugs are good. No consolation but all this unpleasantness is temporary….you will get through this. You absolutely will. As always you are constantly in our thoughts ❤

It is rough for you at the moment and chemo can make you so tired as well as the radiotherapy, double whammy really. Just rest and is good that John is looking after you, tough for him as well. You are one tough cookie and know you will survive this, just bear with as you have lots of things to look forward to, take care xx

Mandy, it's rubbish that the treatment makes you feel worse than the cancer, isn't it?. I've been in John's position, when my late husband had treatment for CML, we had to go to Southampton General, three or four times a week, which is an hour from home. You've got this, keep strong, sending lots of love ❤️❤❤

You are amazing Mandy, you've been so strong for your loved ones about facing this ordeal, now you must allow people to help you, I fully understand how you would feel about going back into hospital but it is all a learning curve, I know you will come through all this and get back to the wonderful life you and John have created for yourselves. It was so good to see your video on here. I know that it takes a lot of energy to make it and get it ready to post and we all appreciate your efforts. I know you said that you don’t feel good but you sure look good. Even the rosy cheeks give you some color. I cringed when you called yourself stupid because you are anything but stupid. And yes, maybe you should have called the hospital but I understand why you didn’t and I don’t blame you for not wanting to. That does not make you stupid. Please do not call yourself that again. I am excited for you that your daughter and grandson are going to come to visit this weekend. I know you are looking forward to that. Family is always a good way to get to feel better. I did watch John’s video. It was good and I can tell that he is supportive of you and wishes for this to be over. Your story of his hugs brought a tear to my eye. You get to crackin on and get ready for your family’s visit. I am sending hugs and energy for you and John as each week goes by. Blessings to you both.

Your poor body is being put through the ringer but you're on your way now to getting rid of that cancer. It must be hard when you felt fine before, to have to go through this, but it will be over soon and you will feel better. Be kind to yourself.

You have your nanna naps, Mandy. You are one, after all!! Hope you have a great time with your grandson. The first time my husband had a temperature spike was just after diagnosis and before he'd been given a 'red pack' (the magic wand that gets him straight in at A&E because of the danger of sepsis). He was starting to get incoherent yet still wanted lace-up shoes (put on by me) rather than velcro ones - aaarggh!! I couldn't go in with him at A&E (or visit once he was admitted) cos it was early 2022 so extra worry. 20 years ago I think he would only have lasted a few months and here we are - nothing detectable/measurable so far. Oh my goodness you poor thing(s)…. Glad you have John around.. You really need to ring and get advice you may not need to go in every time…but you should ring.. Hope you have a chart up with which medication,how much and when….It’s vital…as it means other people can look at the chart and make sure your all up to date….with the meds. Don’t worry about videos…just as and when is fine… John needs hugs too…you think he’s doing it for you,he is,but it’s good for him too.. Take care Mandy……and John 👍🇬🇧

It’s hard when you’re so independent and used to being in control cause the chemotherapy takes all that away but do take comfort in the fact it will come back. Sad fact is the treatment is much worse than the disease. Nap as much as you need, when my husband is on his steroid days he can’t sleep not easy when I’m snoring away. You are certainly going through the wars with this treatment glad you have a wonderful family and friends , and John is amazing. Take care and know that you will get through this.❤️
