Overall impressive acuracy, specially with Hell on Earth and Deep Stinger considering those animations most likely had to be jury-rig from other characters.
I pulled myself out of full vergil fanboy mode just long enough to come to the same realisation. It legit looks like a DMC5 version and i could fully see it being an official moveset with the animations touched up, they did a lot with what they had
@@user-wy1et9dk9w lol what? iv'e played a lot of fighting games: all gg, all bb, all sf, soul calibur, dbfz, mb, even mvc1 and 2, and i can say that umvc3 its top 5 hardest, because of infinite combos that harder than mvc2 infinites, because of how hard to deal with top tier bitches like pheonix and zero. and because how shit the practice are for training
@@TakehisaYuji well if you are doing infinites that is very high level. He said play it to any extent. In that regard, I couldn't think of any easier game to pick up and do cool looking shit. Launch, jump up, hit some buttons in the air together land and do 1-3 supers. I'm not sure why you are talking like the only way to play this game is if you know infinites. It's that mentality that keeps people from trying fighting games.
Its pretty impressive that modder can make the dmc 5 vergil combo version work in this game , well yes there is bit stiff on animation since most of them borrow from other character but im sure someone will make custom animation someday
If you ask me…his damage is lowered a bit. If this was normal Vergil they’d be dead half through a combo. He is also kinda slow compared the original. And this one seems ALOT more difficult to use.

So, out of curiosity, does Vergil still retain his "Devil Trigger-exclusive Level 4" or was that removed to make room for his new Supers? Very impressive work by the way. I honestly thought this was made as an genuine update to the character in a FighterZ like sense.

Although it seems broken. This Vergil does seem to be a little slower and his damage is kinda lowered I think. And to boat…he actually looks pretty hard to use.
Less dmg? This character when played optimal is one touch kill, and it appears a lot of his new specials are combo moves/reqqas. He scales really well as well considering how hitstun scaling barely affects him.
@@coldblizzard5880 the whole game is unbalanced I know. But if you watch the recent "umvc3 is broken" video, you'll see that Vergil has half the video dedicated to him for a reason. Tons of OP stuff that is almost unblockable.
One thing you probably could've done was make it so that he has three movesets he can switch between. One for Yamato, one for Force Edge, and one for Beowulf. And switching could be done via any attack button + special.
They kinda just... take them from other characters, like how Vergils rapid-kicks are just taken from Dante's animations and stuff, and how like Overdrive you can see the last part of it is take from Magneto's projectile. Don't take that as me saying this isn't impressive though, it very much is, and it's really cool that somebody did this.
I'm not a modder but I assume some of these animations are locked behind the scenes. For instance take Ryu for example in this game. I'm pretty sure he has animation for all of his normals and command normals from SF(Jab, strong, fierce, short, forward, roundhouse, crouch and jump, collar bone and the gut punch command normals). But in marvel 3 you can only do a fraction of those moves. But when they made Marvel infinite I believe he has access to all of his normals(Don't quote me on that though). I assume modders probably found some scrapped move animations from other characters and maybe spliced them together to make it look like a new move.
This is scarily good, and the new moves seem to be surprisingly balanced, I mean compared to the rest of his move set. I hope someone mods a new move set for hulk I really think he needs to be more of a grappler, and god damn it he has no thunderclap!
2:46 you can also seemingly do an extra non-overdrive drive by inputting it again without charging it, I believe. Don’t think it’s listed in the movelist.
For some reason, round trip is bugged for me. It only comes out 10% of the time, and I'm inputing the command perfectly. I looked at the changelog, and it doesn't seem like they moved anything around. Am I doing something wrong? EDIT: It seems to work consistently when it's done with double quarter circle back, instead of a shoryu motion...I don't know why.
I’ve had issues with that too. The input works 100% of the time without meter. Because for some reason the summoned sword takes priority over the round trip input
