I love Habit Rouge, especially the EDT. I’ve always considered it an oriental, so it was cool to see you connect it to citrus chypres/aromatics like Monsieur de Givenchy. How cool that Eau Sauvage, Aramis, and Habit Rouge came out within 2 years of each other. Incredibly different and striking visions of what a man could smell like. All masterpieces in their own right!
As far as I've seen, the 2003 EDP of Habit Rouge was the first version to cite "oud." That's been the case for while. Them rewriting history to suggest the EDT has an oud note is a new development.
It's just on the American entry for the entire scent line Itself, which is troubling. Compared to the European site where it is not. They're Creed-ifying themselves for dumb US ruling class spawn.
I never got the "Shalimar for men" comparison, too, apart from the presence of vanilla. This new Rouge Prive flanker seems interesting. I don't find G. Vetiver extremely vetiver-centric like, dunno, Encore Noir, the florals, tobacco and citruses make it semi-complex imho. Have a good day!
It is classic. I kind of enjoy the EdP version. Just seems to wear better on me. Dress Code was an interesting gourmand take on the scent. I need to be in a kind of retro mind set to wear it.
I was honestly shocked when L'Instinct came out. With the way the market was going, the last thing I - or most people for that matter - expected was an HR flanker....that, didn't really smell like HR? 😄 What a waste of valuable funding. But then Rouge Prive was released and all was forgiven. 😂 Absolutely bottle worthy for me. Really hope they continue the line, but I suppose it all depends on the numbers doesn't it. Appreciate the video! ❤
