Francis ran away, Jones was coming to the divison no matter what. It's not easy to gain 40 pounds and keep your game at an elite level. You think Jones would retire at like 35 rather than facing Francis who would probably get subed by him in 1 minute just like Gane. Another terrible wrestler.

He also was bigger than Jon and would have slept him easily, we saw Jones be hittable against Gustafson and Reyes at the very least. Imagine a guy that’s bigger, stronger, and had a longer reach.

I don‘t think that does take away anything from Islam though. His striking and overall game has immensly improved. That‘s why he‘s a dominant champ now. He doesn‘t need to have a perfect career, so there‘s no need to diminish his loss.
