Great relic saves Chris. Really liked the finial display of “how it would have been”!

Thanks man! I don’t know how people feel about them but I love doing those moments away from digging where I can talk about a relic a bit more.

First time I've seen your vids, but I'm a subscriber now! Love how you follow up with your finds and show what they are. That's the first Maine state button I've seen. Great find!!

Thanks so much! I really appreciate the kind words. I promise no more windy audio! The funny thing is I had purchased wireless mics that came in a week before the hunt to help with audio quality and it was just too windy for them. Thanks again my friend

Thank you so much for your kindness! I know not everyone is a fan of me kinda going off on a tangent for a little bit talking about the relics but I love learning and sharing some of what I know! We have a Facebook group with the same name. Would love to see you share your finds! Thanks again so much!

Nice hunt guys. just subscribed to the channel. Im a former relic hunter fro GA. All my activity was in coastal GA and SC. Found some good stuff over the years from both sides. Haven't done any digging to speak of in at least 15 years. Good to see stuff still being brought out for history and preservation. I have some carved bullets and yes they are such a very personal connection to the soldier who carved them. Also have some buttons from confederate sites that i haven't been able to identify. Specifically a three piece one with BS on a lined field with an era back mark. always had a hunch it might be a school button of some kind. Anyway Im enjoying the videos. Its getting my jazz up. might have to dust off my old Whites Spectrum. Thanks.

Man that’s so cool!! The only Georgia digging I’ve done has been out close to Chickamauga but I have done some on the coast down around Hilton Head and the sandy soil of the low country. It’s amazing how kind the sand is to the buttons dug there! I can’t tell you how much reading comments such as yours lift me up and inspire me. I hope you get back out and find some sweet relics this year! Thank you again for watching and being kind enough to comment!

Great day! Looking forward to seeing day 2s footage! That rare Maine button is killer… I live out in Oregon and Civil War era relics are almost impossible to come by, but I did just dig an Oregon button out here at one of my few known 1860’s site. First infantry regiment. It’s so cool when you can pinpoint what unit said button came from! Congrats!

Thanks man! Let me start by saying I really appreciate you taking the time to watch and leaving a positive, encouraging comment. You don’t know how much that means. Finding any button that is state specific is so cool. Congrats on yours! Would love to see a photo of it in our FB group Davie County Diggers. The site where I dug that Maine button has seen a ton of confederate and Union buttons come out of it. There has been a Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Rhode Island and now this Maine button come out of it. Not to mention countless Eagle buttons and confederate Script I and Script C buttons. We’ve definitely had some success there. Day 2 footage will be out soon and for what it’s worth I have bought wireless mics so hopefully the audio will be better going forward! Happy Hunting!

Awesome, awesome video! Love the info and tutorial on the finial, that is an epic find! Wow the Maine State Seal button is amazing, we have a non-dug one that we picked up from an antique shop up here in New Hampshire. You do a really awesome job with your videos, keep up the great work! From Jim and Mason.

Thank you so much Jim! That Maine button didn’t clean up as nicely as I’d hoped. There just wasn’t as much gold gilting left on the face as I’d hoped. So- I went online and ordered another Maine Staff Officers button that is perfect and beautiful and Im displaying them in a case right beside one another. I think it turned out pretty cool! Thanks so much man!

Great job !!! Only Maine buttons we find up here in New England are the star militia versions from well before the civil war, never even seen a two piece.

Man it was a shock for me to find this button too. We have dug a ton of buttons off this property including Virginia, North Carolina, Rhode Island, and South Carolina but to pull out a Maine button is super exciting considering how rare they are

Man that’s really just so kind of you to say! Thank you for that encouragement! Making these videos is something I really enjoy and basically just started doing it as a novelty and so my kids and maybe grandkids could look back on them years later. But the more I make them the more fun I have. Hearing positive comments like yours just kinda motivates me to keep going. I sure appreciate it!

That particular one went on the end of a scabbard tip and the scabbard is what housed a bayonet. We also see them on the bottom of cartridge boxes and percussion cap pouches. They’re kind of ornamental. Thanks so much for watching!
