@@TheIntronD You're both wrong. A driver must not break the Highway Code to allow an emergency vehicle to pass. It is up to the ambulance driver to find a safe way past. I won't mount kerbs, go through red lights (yes I know this light was green) or make any other infringement to make it easier for an ambulance driver. They know the rules.

What I don't get is, why was the video edited to hide out what was going on infront? We don't want to look upwards at the sky, as if it's going to tell us anything. When he set off, he should have checked his mirrors... when he saw the Ambo approaching, he should have stopped and stayed where he was. Maybe he didn't see it... could have stopped in the middle of the roundabout to allow the ambo around him there. Even behind the cyclist, the blue Ford allowed him space to join there... refused to take it.

Agreed. The first "oops" was okay as he was just said to himself. The second old "you can't park there" 'joke' is tired, immature and unnecessary. I surely hope the cammer never makes a mistake on the roads and has some a-hole making dumb comments like that at him, especially as, given he's on a bike, he is much more likely to be injured and in significant pain. @6:41 have i completely misunderstood that roundabout? I have a feeling they pulled out because you should have taken the exit there with the lane you were in. It's rare on a roundabout to take the 3rd exit, right, from the left hand lane

@@waltersobchak1719 You're both wrong, roadsign at the start clearly states both lanes are for the A120. Not all roundabouts follow the "left lane is for left or straight-on only" - this is one of the exceptions.

@@thorin4406 Yeah i managed to find it on google maps in the end because I was curious, The road states A120W and the road the cammer exited was the A120W so I had misunderstood the roundabout. I can imagine that might still be the reason they pulled out there though if they are unfamiliar with the roundabout. Not saying they should, the cammer was in the right, just trying to add an explanation as to why they both did it at the same time.

Plus, the whole point of the lights and sirens, is so that drivers are aware, within plenty of time.... he had plenty of time to move over, to enable the ambulance to come through, without having to break the law himself

In the (excessively long) clip starting 2:46, I think the car had already passed the line when the light went red so they were no longer bound by it (although they shouldn’t block the crossing area). It’s wrong to say ‘into a box junction’ as they actually left it clear until the other traffic moved forward.

1:58 It is a bit unclear, but I think the ambulance was expecting him to break the law, so he says out loud “I’m not going there”…which if so is fair enough. If you break the law to help emergency services (for examples: by mounting the kerb, or going just slightly past a red light to pull over, or being in a box junction to make an opening, or dipping into a cycle/bus lane to let EMS through, etc) you will not get leniency from the points and fines when a local authority or police camera records it.

2:51 no that wasn't through a red light. When that went red the car was already past the stop line so at that point was required to give way to join the flow of traffic as they were already past the line. Not the same as a red light jump.

With the channel's stupid panning and zooming to just show a traffic light and nothing else there's no way we can tell what was possibly going on to make the cammer not want to move. I'm not prepared to rush to judgement when the very bit that would allow us to judge whether that was reasonable or despicable has been deliberated edited out. I think he was talking about the lower speed limit for vans specifically. Nearly all vans (there are some exceptions) are only supposed to go 60mph on a dual carriage way and 50mph on a single carriageway. I had no idea that was the case until I had to drive one for work. The amount of other vans that are significantly bigger and heavier than my van that overtake me leads me to assume this is not common knowledge.

@@paul8161 They are not necessarily speed limited, because they are allowed to do 70 on a motorway. Exceptions are car-derived vans, which have the same speed limits as cars.

Sorry to clear up confusion, I meant a lower speed limit is supposed to apply in the sense that if they were following the law, they should be going slower. I was trying to imply that most people driving these vans don't know that so they just drive the same why they would if they were in a car. I was not suggesting all vans are have speed limiters although my work van does.

4:30, with the on-coming ambulance - sometimes it's better to carry on and get out of the way instead of stopping. There were two lanes coming towards the cammer, so it was more an onus on the drivers in those lanes to make space for the ambulance behind. By stopping for the on-coming ambulance without a clear gap for it, it just seemed to make things worse. The drivers behind might not have been able to see the ambulance due to the cammer blocking the view.

It proably isn't, but that one at about 0:57 looks an awful lot like the turn up to Badminton on the B4040 (Old Down Rd. junction). Probably thousands of junctions like that in the UK so I doubt it is, but the resemblance is uncanny.

How is it terrible by the cammer? They overtake goods vehicles doing 50-60mph at most. There's no reason at all to sit in lane two when lane one is clear. They were more than likely doing 70.

It doesn't really count as undertaking because they didn't move back to the right lane after it. They overtook the lorries which is perfectly fine to do, then moved back to the left after their overtake, the Discovery doing something wrong doesn't mean the cammer is undertaking. If I'm driving at the 70 in the left and someone hogging the right lane is doing 60, I'm technically not undertaking anyone because I'm sticking to the correct lane and the flow of traffic (even if it's clear)
