This fantastic. I remember being captivated. I immediately went searching for more of her stuff on YT.

She's definitely advanced in her guitar playing from the mid-80s. More virtuoso. Enjoyed her work here, she was getting down! Even though she was doing hard, wild things she was staying on beat which I appreciate.

Before I watch this I want to relay how I'm familiar with Joanna Connor. In 1985-86 my Mom had moved to Chicago and I used to go visit her (a 300 mile drive) and I would go to Kingston Mines, a blues club, on every visit, often 2 nights in a row. Joanna was one of the house bands there so I saw her many times. She was young then. I haven''t watched this yet but I'm curious now....

The slow, great intro, is partially from Blind Willie Johnson's "Dark Was The Night Cold Was The Ground".
