Student safety is the responsibility of the University of California, and the University police force is there to ensure that rules and regulations are followed. It is against UC policy to allow overnight encampments on University property. The UC cops advised the administrators that this was dangerous and that it was against clearly stated black-letter policy, but the administrators decided to allow the encampments. What followed was, unfortunately, predictable.

When I heard the BLM speakers say they supported black, brown and red people, I was interested because I am two out of the three they were supporting. When rioters tried to enter my family members working class neighborhood (the people they stated they supported) with Molotov cocktails shouting “Burn it down, Burn it all down” on three separate occasions, they lost my support. Burning down our homes has already been done to my ancestors and it is not the way to achieve support.

they WERE there. They were waiting for the moment that the pro palestinian protesters got provoked into attacking the jews. then the officers would have swarmed in to save the day. it was all an orchestrated event. Thank goodness the protesters showed a huge amount of self control. once it became clear that the plan was a failure, LAPD finally came to end it. They still blamed the protesters but had to do it without the footage of jews being attacked that they wanted.

@@corsh2715Protests do not allow you to infringe on the rights of others. Including property rights. And lets be honest buddy, what is the actual goal here? Is it to get a ceasefire or is it to get attention for YOURSELF? Because this only does one of those things. Even if all of these colleges devested it would do NOTHING in terms of pressuring them to call a ceasefire. If you ACTUALLY cared about that you'd be camped out in front of the white house and congress. Which is to say, you'd be trying to pressure people that can actually make change. But that isn't happening. Why? Because these whole thing is a farce. Just a bunch of brats LARPing as revolutionaries in the most low effort way possible.

We: people in the camp. I was there. It was horrible and very quickly “I” became “we” as we were terrorized together and helping each other to safety. Maybe if you didn’t have an innate bias you would have already read the news reports and realized he is super accurate in his description.
