Unboxing a very large lot of James Bond books by Ian Fleming, as published by The Folio Society. This includes all of the Fleming novels except for The Man With the Golden Gun. All of the titles are illustrated by Fay Dalton.

The book you can’t remember is Thrilling Cities, a collection of Fleming’s travel writings.

My set arrived from the UK to the US in similar shape. The whole side of the box was wide-open. But they packed them extremely well.

Thanks for sharing. I have the first three and cherish them (Casino Royale, Live and Let Die, Moonraker). I'd love to get the full set one day! Until then I'll just experience them vicariously through unboxing videos.

I just purchased the Folio Edition of "For Your Eyes Only", which contains five short stories. Once "OctoPussy and The Living Daylights" is released (presumably in 2023), the Ian Fleming collection will be fulfilled at Folio Society.

I have been on quite the Fleming/007 kick lately and have come across Folio Society's editions and Fay's stunning artwork. Gonna have to begin my collection soon, probably starting with Moonraker since I'm currently listening to Audiobook (narrated by Bill Nighy). Due to cost constraints, I'm thinking two a year feasible 😂. Great unboxing, congratulations!!!

Thank you for watching and best of luck with your own collection! Folio Society used to do book bundles for slightly reduced costs during the holiday season, which would've helped with the full Bond set. But I don't think they've done those the past few years.

It makes me miss when Folio would offer bundles at a reduced price during their sales. This would be an excellent set to have on sale.

Nice haul, Mr. Bond. This is a suburb series. Fay Dalton was born for Bond and may be the greatest of the Bond Women! I'm behind on three titles, i think, but I have all my favorites. The final volume of short stories should be out this year. FYIO: Even as a first draft, The Man with the Golden Gun is an excellent read. Every book surprises and that one does too. Don't sell any Bond novel short.

@@Splync_TooManyBooks To my point: I never would have imagined Man with the Golden Gun was a first draft. Your mentioning it was the first I heard of it. I'm also a big fan of The Spy Who loved Me. But I'm also a romantic at heart... I loved the change in narrative and the Canadian setting. Fay Dalton brings great sensitivity to the woman's POV of the story.

FYIO is out now (as you probably know), and I think "OctoPussy and The Living Daylights" will be the final Fay Dalton and Folio Society entry for Ian Fleming's 007 literature.

So far I’ve finished the first 6. Favorite so far is Casino Royale or Moonraker. The CASINO ROYALE with Peter Sellers was a parody novel

Thank you! I bought these from a seller in Denmark and it took 17 days to get the package, but that's only because it got held up in customs for several days.

why is the artwork on slipcase and not book?

Folio Society doesn't do dust jackets on their books and I don't think they'd be able to do Fay Dalton's artwork justice on the book boards, which is likely why the art is used on the slipcase.
