I almost fell on my ass with the intro 🤩. And the rest of the video is also terrific! Fantastic lighting, even lilac light like Midge's box, very good rhythm, well-chosen and well-timed music, precise movements, surprising moments, great colouring... I'm ecstatic! The original VS reproduction comparison is absolutely great, that's what we all want to see. The detail of the missing towel is exquisite, the icing on the cake! I know vintage Midge dolls can be an acquired taste but I agree that they really did a good job with the screening on the silkstone repro making her look cute again. :) I'll be interested to see who the next Silkstone Repro is going to be - signs hint towards a PJ doll, wonder which one she'd be and from which era.

Really enjoyed your video on Midge, still waiting on mine to arrive. Like you I think they did a great job but they could have a done the hair a little better. When Mattel came out with the 35th anniversary Midge doll, she came with the swimsuit, booklet, repro box and the Senior Prom dress. Wish the could have included a little more with this line. I love the silk stones but they have done the swimsuits to death. Anyway I will continue buying them as this is what got me into collecting Barbie in 1994, the reproduction line. One thing I really wish they'd fix about the reproductions is the body; it's very close but all of the limbs are slightly shorter, and imo it really does make such an aesthetic difference when it comes to the proportions of the body! They did a pretty good job at lengthening the limbs on the more recent TnT repros (I think starting with Hair Fair but maybe it was Mod Friends?) and giving them longer/more accurate legs and necks that bring them much closer to the originals. Also, this isn't about Midge, but I do wish they'd have another go at recreating the original Barbie sculpt because they seem incredibly reluctant to the idea of making one that is 100% accurate, most notably all of the 1959-sculpt reproductions lack the lengthened chin/jowel (?) and neck on the head! I have to guess this is a remnant from the 35th anniversary reproductions, the prototypes of which were so incredibly accurate that focus groups were scared of fraud- causing Mattel to completely redesign the repro to deliberately look less accurate, most notably the lack of longer neck and overall shorter body compared to the original. Such a shame! Such a great video! Always nice to see a new upload after watching all of your videos within a single day last week lol

I have the Blonde Midge who came in the blue two piece bathing suit. I got her in 1963 for $3.98 as a present from cousins. I was only 9 years old. So I still have her but her face darkened, and her hair on top is sparse from my sister always doing ne hair styles on her. I would love to get a repro of her. She was always my favorite.

She looks beautiful but the hair men mattel must do a better job and I had maybe wanted to see her In silkenflame red flair or Friday night date that was already made with the reproduction dolls So mattel can use it easily again. If I get her once then I wash the hair and style it over and make her beautiful ❤

Mmm I don’t think the original came w towel, i have several in box and none has a towel😊. She is beautiful but… in Europe she will be around 80€… no way. But she really stands out ❤

The hair to me is the biggest thumbs down, my vintage blonde Midge's hair just stays perfect the way it is, curls and bangs in place without all that gel, the hair fiber nowadays sucks.

The vintage brunette is my favorite but they usually pushed the redhead maybe because she 's Irish( her last name is Hadley) Yes you are correct the brunette had a pink top and red bottom I hope they issue them in vinyl with different hair colors The blonde Midges are pretty too My vintage brunette is from 1964 when they made her with a longer flip I actually like the shoes as they may seem more durable on the hard polystyrene feet (or silkstone) The right shoe of the hard plastic seem to break according to the old collectors She's very pretty Your brunette( stunning!) is wearing the blue two piece originally made for the blonde Great post Boss!
