Hey playas; here is my new vid, a genuine unboxing of a real car, in real time. Pour yourself a stiff one or spark something up, because it goes on a bit.
Yes this make much more sense, I watched it all back in november, waiting for the jokes to come. And 16min later I was like "Why the hell James May did something as useless as an unboxing?"
No, actually. Back when the trio was still in Top Gear, Clarkson and Hammond pranked him by having a truck ram into the side of the Dacia Sandero that Clarkson bought for him. He ran when the truck rammed into the side of the Sandero.
Just saw the new Grand Tour episode and when this video showed up, I freaked. I saw this vid when it first released and it was cool to see that this vid beat Jeremy's YT vid. Nice.
And to think. When i first saw this video, i literally thought this was how the car was shipped to customers across the world by Toyota. Now after watching The Grand Tour SE3E10,. I see now it was all made up for a challenge...lol. Good Win James. U literally had me telling friends here in Jamaica that that's how the car was shipped until recently lol
"Remember you only unbox something once. Something that has once been unboxed can never been boxed again, because it has already been unboxed." - James May
"Elsewhere in the world, awards are rewarded to reward excellence but here on the Top Gear Awards, we'd like to award an award that rewards a car that we found particularly, unrewarding." - also James May
Me too and I wonder when they filmed it. In episode JM claims there were only 330k views, while currently there are 616k views. Unboxing video was awesome, just like GT Christmas Special.
Jeremy's version would begin with him cutting a massive hole in the box with a chainsaw and simply drive the car at full power through the rest of the box
I'm really high, I'm listening to this in noise-cancelling headphones, I love Top Gear, and this YarisGRMN is my dream car... Lowkey one of the most pleasing videos I've ever truly experienced. Godspeed, James May.
Just watched the episode. I have to admit, I follow this channel and was awful excited when this first came out. Glad to know I was one of the 330k millennials that decided to watch it. Then again, not a typical one given I get great joy out of watching you reconstructing odd bits and Bob's. Out of all 3, you really are my favourite 😂
If Jeremy Clarkson were to do the unboxing, the whole video would be over in 3 min - open 1 side of the box, start the car, POWERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I remember all those comments from when this video first came out that said it wasn't a "real unboxing" because the box had obviously been built around the car and its tyres were dusty. Makes perfect sense now!
ive been subbed for ages and after watching this channel get some use for the grand tour i was excited ever since i saw this come up and knew it had to be somehting for that!
As you can see, this fellow, the most out of touch of the whole Grand Tour trio, has in fact done it right, once again. I don't know if this was on purpose, but he really did hit on the most bafflingly popular type of RU-vid video that can be done on a budget. Not surprised at all that he won that contest.
How did you get Toyota to send you a car in a box. I'm thinking they're going to start selling them in boxes to put under giant Christmas trees!!. 1.1 tons, that's really light !
Even this one didn't come in a box, you can see where they drove the car into the bottom price if cardboard and the footsteps on it too with the same dust as Mays footsteps from the warehouse. Fake box! Fake news
xDDD that's the future of car buying... Buy it online, it's delivered to your porch next step- Build your own car DIY. You receive the car in parts and have to assemble it :D an even MORE compact shipping container, heck yes
There was these two brothers who tried to one up each other on giving the most useless birthday gift to each other. One of them finally win by shipping a Cadillac, disassembled and encased in a concrete block.
I am pleased to have been one of the 330,000 that helped you win the challenge. Shhh... we won't tell anyone that I'm a somewhat fat middle aged man, not a millennial.
Depending on how middle you are, you could be almost a millennial! They run from ‘81 to ‘96, meaning the youngest millennial is now over 20, and the oldest are nudging up on 40!
Oh my gosh, saw grand tour and then just had to see this, laughed so hard, missed a trick, would have wrapped it in bubble wrap :) this is brilliant and now you are at a million views, you rock
