Wow Silver Slacker! That's quite a nice box of Silver and with the recent prices a great time to be buying. Surprised at the packing mistake but packing errors do happen. Thanks for sharing another great video.
Thanks bud, and yeah no big deal on messing up my order. At least provident will be giving me free shipping on my next order! So they can mess up any of my orders they want lol....
I enjoyed every second of that video. Filled in my lunch brake lol. Your channel is one of the best on RU-vid. Thanks for the spectacular show. Cheers.
Thanks geggs1 that is VERY kind of you. I'm glad you enjoy them and I should have another Epic unboxing of silver in about a week :) Hopefully that video won't be as long lol...
I'm relatively new to silver stacking but I have already love the lunars. Loving the pyramids, I pick up a few 1/2 oz lunar horses whenever I can find them available for my kid. We really enjoy your videos! thank you for sharing :)
Thanks CCT! I was pretty excited to get this one in as I have been waiting a few weeks. I just wish they had designed the Lunar Goat coin a little better.
CyberCurtainTwitcher Yeah I want to get those, but man the damn premiums are pretty high. That and they have so many versions! I am a collector at heart and I know if I start picking those bad boys up I would have to commit to another full set! But yes, they are pretty damn nice. :)
"I'm just not going to pick up all the other sizes for those" you said it for the lunar series. I know the feeling though, I want to get all the ATB coins but the premiums on most are way too high for me to justify.
I know I’m rewatching this years later, but do you really think that the white cotton gloves are going to preserve the finish on your coins? Most are in capsules, and the rest are being handled with gloves full of packaging dirt (and paper fibers), as well as packaging tape glue. I know your coin handling skills have improved over the years…haven’t they?
Thanks for sharing. I hope that you changed your mind on the Lunar Sll 2015 Goat design. Right now they are selling at a higher spot than the Chinese Panda minted in the same year. BTW - I purchased the Goat Kilo after seeing this video. It has increased in value at the point of 35%. Thanks!!!
Yeah the lunar series always seem to do well! That is why I have done multiple videos showing how well they do over the years. I don't care for the Chinese Panda's because they just make to many of the new ones.
I really like the Old style of the 2015 Kook. Man this was one hell-of-an-unboxing! I'll probably add about that much silver though the rest of the year lol (if I can keep my hands off of the fractional gold)
LOL thanks bud, yeah I am trying to take advantage of the low prices on the coins I wanted. Also I wanted to get the horse coins since they are last years coins and I think the premium will go up quickly once they sell out. I'm lucky to not be into gold, because you are right the cost of gold can really downsize those silver unboxing videos lol. For the price I paid for all this silver I could of got maybe 1.5 oz of gold lol. I wouldn't of looked nowhere near as impressive! :)
Very nice. So far I have been sticking to bars only. But I like the 1oz Kooks and Chinese Pandas. Might get some. Buying silver can be very addicting! :)
LOL I know right! :) If the premiums where not sooooo damn high on them I might actually consider it. It would be very cool to have. But the premiums on the 10 kilo are just crazy. $30 per ounce... no thanks!
Impressive order. Like those pyramids..... Videos like this make my head spin on what should i buy next..... hope the prices stay down a bit longer....
Those kilos look amazing!! Interesting point about the other sizes having less mintage than the 1 ounce!! Although i think they are able to re-release those other sizes all the way up until the end of the series.
Thanks 24k, you are half right. After they release the mintage numbers then they are done, BUT the kilo coins can still be minted. If you see the mintage numbers of these coins and track them each year you will see the kilo numbers go up by a hundred to a couple hundred each year. Here is the link so you can see the mintage numbers of the perth mint coins: www.perthmint.com.au/investment-bullion-bars-and-coins-mintages.aspx For the Lunars you will see the previous coins have a Declared Mintage while the Kilo's still say Sales to Date.
Impressive order. I have been into older more obviously collectible coins for some time but I have started silver stacking now. I have a couple of the 10oz coins and about 20 of the 25th anniversary maples. Thanks for the advice on the half ounce coins and the two ounce. I will probably get about 60 of the half ounce lunar next order...........thanks for posting........
Progressed up to about 160 ounces of half and 2 oz Lunars, and 25th anniversary Maples...the growth if you hang on to them for a few years is pretty amazing....
2nd time that I have watched this unboxing. I absolutely love the lunar series! Do you know of a website that has all the mintage numbers for the Lunar Series? Perth Mint website has some listed, but not all of them. Thank you Silver Slacker!
Thanks, Here is the link that I use, it has all the mintages, but doesn't update until about February: www.perthmint.com.au/investment-bullion-bars-and-coins-mintages.aspx
WOW! Thank you so much! While looking around the site I found out that colored, gilded and proof lunar coins are not included in the bullion mintages!?? Is this true? Check this out Slacker : www.perthmint.com.au/numismatic-mintages.aspx
One of the most enjoyable unboxing videos I've seen in a long time! Thanks for taking the gloves off too. Why do RU-vidrs insist on wearing gloves with encapsulated coins? Why?! It's nice to see someone posting though at a time when everyone seems so disheartened by the recent metal's price action (or lack thereof).
HA! Yeah I was thinking that I would be touching some raw silver, but realized they were all packaged away good, so there was no need for the gloves. I hate the gloves to, that is why I like my poured silver bars :) Yeah I don't know why people are so disheartened, I am loving these prices and I'm like a kid in a candy store! Thanks for watching and the kind words, I'm glad you liked the video.
I put the money I get from my rental properties into silver to help diversify my assets. I did a video on it if you are interested: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-si8VW3Vt9Ko.html
+Loree Angel I take it you didn't see this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JybBNUMMbTU.html or this video from me :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VuLALjINuCE.html
Why do you worry about video length? Personally I like videos that take time to show each piece instead of blitzing through everything as fast as possible. No rush, anyway nice pieces you just picked up.
Jonathan B Thanks Jonathan. Yeah I try to keep my videos around 10 min because if to long you lose people. But sometimes I just can't get them that short because I have to much to show or say.
Do you still recommend buying the 1/2 oz and 2 oz coins. I figure I should start buying the lunar coins every year and was thinking about getting 2 rolls of each when they are first released.
Brian Cramp I actually did a video about this topic. I came to the conclusion that the 1/2 oz and 2 oz are the best to buy for future appreciation. Here is a link to my video on it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-f7X3ai3wvZc.html
Brian Cramp I know you can't just rely on APMEX listing prices. That is why in my video I had sales from Ebay and Provident metals. You are right that 5 and 10 oz coins are much more rare, but it is supply and demand and it seems that the 1/2 oz and 2 oz coins are in much higher demand.
Up here it is two(2) step down from Retail(.So It goes,Dealer,Retail,Break,Wholesale,Warehouse and Warehouse distributor, cost plus is a ? of it's own and then off to the Used market and that is where we play for the best part and that init's self is a whole different ball of wax I suppose as it is tied really hard to the auction world and that makes my head really hurt.
Very nice unboxing. I have to ask. I know you have a full silver bar video, but do you have a FULL silver stack video? Or do you literally not have the time in the day to set it all out? lol. Nice stuff.
I have contemplated doing a full stack video, but it would take SOOO long to get it all laid out. Maybe during this winter when work slows down for me.
It was just me checking the website from time to time. I don't have any special access. You can sign up for weekly special though now at provident, apmex, or JM bullion. They will send you emails from time to time if they are having a sale.
I found the video. I highly suggest you do the research yourself. He did go over a lot of numbers, similar to what I did a couple years ago. My biggest issue with that video is where is he getting those values from? For instance in my video I show the prices that Apmex, Provident, and eBay are selling things for. The true value is what you can really sell them for, so it is best to look on eBay sales to get the true value of what the return is. But as a head up, I have stopped buying multiples of the lunar coins because I think to many people are buying them to "flip" them and make money. It is bringing the values down, and that is why you just never know how well coins will do in the future. For instance at Provident the 2015 5 oz Goat is 2 years old and is only $20 more expensive than the current one. I did a video on how my strategy has changed: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QvI8O77FcRU.html
Mmmmm I love Ramen! I fell in love with Ramen when I lived in South Korea for a year. Never had it before then. It's great with a slice of cheese in it! :)
If you mean the value of the 4 pyramids of the last 4 years of lunar coins I would guess around $5,000-$6,000. Each pyramid consists of 50.65 ounces, so all 4 would be 202.6 ounces. And the snake and dragon coins carry a decent premium on them now.
Gollammeister Sure, check out these 2 places. They are where I get most of my supplies, or you can check ebay: www.apmex.com/category/70000/storage-supplies www.providentmetals.com/supplies/coin-supplies.html
hey how are you, ive been a numismatics guys for a fairly long time but looking to make the move to stacking i already started to collect hand poured silver but will like the perth lunar series my question is how should i go about buying silver and were to buy from any advice will be appreciated
Jose, it is important to shop around for the best deals. I like Provident Metals, JM Bullion, and Apmex the most. Here is a link to a website that shows all the comparable prices for the larger dealers: comparesilverprices.com/ Lastly, if you are active military or a vetern Provident Metals offers bulk rate pricing on their products.
That tape looked like it kicked your ass LOL; maybe a sharper knife... Awesome video as ways grate stack. I might have to look into the 1/2oz coins. What's not to like about the goat. great design simple good detail. and yeah its a goat how else you going to make it look good LOL
Thanks for the advice, I have changed out the blade and now it's nice and sharp, so on my next unboxing video I will slip and cut myself! :) So stay tuned! lol
Thank you for making me shit myself lol. Soo much silver. Thats like what i would collect in a whole year! Great stuff man. Hope you are blessed with more silver to come!
Very nice..I love all the lunar sizes. Im trying tk get all of the lunars. I was planning just from 1/2 tgriugh 2 ounce..do u think I should go higher? To like 5 or 10 ounce?
I would mainly try to get the 2 ounce series. They hold the best premium. I personally avoid the 1/2 ounce and kilo. Just check the buy prices at apmex for the lunars and tell me what you thinkv is the best
encepurdy68 I don't really go off the buy price of APMEX or Provident. Provident is buying the 1/2 oz snakes for $16.40 but with APMEX you have to sell them $10,000 for that $75 price (for the 2 oz) and with Provident you have to sell them $1,000 to get the $16.40 per 1/2 ounce. Ebay is a better place to look to see the going price as I'm sure that is where Silver Grabber would sell his silver when the time came and the 1/2 oz go for about $20-$22 (equivalent to 2 oz silver would be $80-$88) and the 2 oz goes for about $70-$75. But the 1/2 oz coins will cost you about $3-4 more (for 2 oz worth for comparisons) so they both perform about the same. Either way those are the 2 sizes as far as Lunars that have performed well in the past.
