My very 1st amplifier was an Alpine. In those days Alpine was top of the line and very expensive in the early 90s. I was so proud of that thing and it was only 120 watts 60 rms.😅
Yeah man alpine was the shit that warmth of there a/b amps paired with there components great sounding gear man up there in the dayzz miss there old stuff
Type Rs are what made me start building boxes back in 2016. Had a guy down the street from me with 2 12 type R (older model SWR-1242d) in a Chevy Avalanche in an undersized prefab box and they still sounded amazing. He would rattle my windows and walls from a good 300+ feet away. I couldnt imagine how much better they wouldve sounded in a spec box. My buddy had a single 12 type S in a spec box and it would rattle the metal sign menu bolted to the outside brick wall at our local ice cream shop from the other side of the building and parking lot, great SQ as well very smooth clean sounding subs from Alpine 👍
I have a pair type R on PDX amps and a pair type X on their MRX-m240 amp. Never had any issue with either pair. Its also great that Alpine provides exact dimensions for their enclosure for the average user
Accordion surround actually came from JBL back in the early 90s JBL GTI 1000 Watt subwoofer, one of my favorite best sounding subs my ears very heard. I’ll never forget that sound,, back in 1994 hearing 2 GTI 15s on 2 punch 200’s big sealed box in my cousin ford explore
Nice review.. I feel like mb is fair with his reviews.. he finds the woofers best attributes and applications.. he could have just scoffed at the small vc.. but he discovered its vas may help people in limited space . Good job sir🎉
Bring back the old school bass. It's been years since I've have a good Alpine install. I'm thinking about getting a pair of type r d2 12s to see what a moderate day amp and low tone box can do with them.
I'm ready for my fosgate entry. From what i gather, high kicker sensitivity, plus fosgate dampening will equal all the trunk violence i need for now. Ppl keep saying go with kicker or alpine amp, but cant keep spending money for the same thing💯
been wondering how these subs sound the type x looks real nice and theres the type s to i know back 25 years ago before the type series my buddy hade a pair of 15s on a kenwood 920 amp and i guess the amp was 100 by 100 clean power he had them in 2 boxes i wanna say the were 4th order sub was seeled then had like a 4inch open slot in front of sub so the port was faceing up in a small square body blazer on a alpine cd player and kenwood eq they saprized me this was the chronic album came out lol
Hey back in 98-99 I had a Alpine v12 240 watt amp pushing a single 10” mtx 7500 in a Virtual Technologies truck box which was the first bed liner box I’ve ever seen and she made my little Nissan 4x4 beat the block down no one ever believed it was a single 10
These Alpine Type R 8s or JL 8W3 ? Im looking to do a SQ build with maybe 3 or 4 subwoofers, that still kicks hard ! I'll get a 1200 to 1500W RMS Amp to drive them. Appreciate any experience with both subs !
I can’t wait to see more on this driver. I got excited when you mentioned four 8s. Which lead me to looking at Alpines S series amplifiers. Specs had the dampening factor listed for more than 750. Unless I’m missing something, the S2-A120m might be worth checking out.
Hey bro do u think tuned 31hz is the lowest u can go b4 u lose ur highs 40hz n up? Just wondering becuz i do play rebassed alot and love the 31hz deep bass and also down to 28hz, but I do love the high bass as well mainly 39-41hz my favorite. Thoughts? Thanks mb been fan of urs for years now learned majority of my knowledge from ur channel.
Cone area it king. Would you say 2x12 type r sealed 2 cubes or 2 b2 rampage 8” 2 cubes ported. All music. Hip hop old school and new. Country jazz soul dance trance
I remember having a 1200 mono v12 on a 9500 sledge hammer MTX BUT ALPINE FAIL OFF WHEN THEY CAME OUT WITH THE NEW TYPE R they didn’t use the same technology to build a new one the old ones are stronger
@MBEnclosures™ nahh I definitely don't work for them lol. I just respect your opinion and know your not gonna tell me some bs. That's why I love your videos. I just wanted to know what you thought about them to be real. I see that your always trying new subs just wanted to know if these were worthy of a video or not in your opinion.
Can't speak about the 8's, but the VCW10's get down pretty nice. I most definitely was not disappointed when I was rocking them. Especially for their price.
I've hurd a single Alpine type R 12 in person, the guy was in the same compound with me but he was parked below an huge open shed warehouse and the volume on his head unit was a little under half and I'm not joking, the entire warehouse was rattling 😮 I've got to say in 2023 this sub is still expensive but it's worth it, I believe it can go up against some of the modern big brands on the market
