I bought a used 2023 model for $1250 and so far I’m happy with. Could have got a new one for $1350 but this one looked just fine. Really nice gun and always wanted a Python since the early 80’s. I don’t shoot much but went and picked this one up with money I had after selling my truck. Now I’m all set, I have Ruger .44, S&W 459 9mm, and now the Colt Python. I was due last time I bought a gun was 1983.
Got mine two years ago. Absolutely beautiful and flawless. Trigger is excellent. Smooth. Every time I go to the range everyone needs to see it. It’s just a helluva awesome gun. I got the six inch
I got my 4.25" Python last week. The gun itself is beautiful. However, the rear sight is garbage. It does not mount solidly to the top of the barrel. And the tiny set screw that holds the windage adjustment, will need to be tightened continuously. As for the grips, they are too narrow, and are not solid walnut. They are made of laminant walnut. I have corrected those faulty things on mine by installing new, Wilson Combat sights, that have recently been released. As for the grips, I just got a pair of grips that are made by Nill. They are made in Germany, and are top notch !!!! Now I have a perfect Colt Python! It has cost me a few bucks, but it was well worth it !
All colt's are beautiful with this no exceptions. However no mention of the barrel length as this gun comes in 3 different barrels. Nomenclature of gun parts needs work.
At some point, since Colt is already doing the deep high polish royal blue on Custom Shop 1911's and Single Action Army, a blued Python or Anaconda will likely be offered. But be prepared for a very expensive price tag. Go look up the Colt Custom Shop prices for a deep high polished royal blue 1911 and SAA. The blued-finished Python - Anaconda will be even more expensive due to excessively high demand.
