Unboxing and Reviewing: 1975 Volkswagen Beetle Baja Blue in 1/18 scale by Solido

It's been quite a while since I've reviewed a Beetle! I saw that Solido released a pair of cool looking versions and decided to get them!
First one is this Baja themed Metallic Blue beauty. Solido is a budget diecast maker so I guess, as usual, the question is, How did I like this one?

I bought both versions. Have not looked them in detail as they are now stored. Thank you for showing me the model. Nice model for the money. Owners can do some nice detailing on interior, engine and under carriage to make it more realistic. ✊🏻✊🏻

Yeah, I think these particular releases would be great for that (i.e. Good looking and cheap enough to take some chances!) I'll be looking at the red release as well.

Blue punch buggy no punch back!! 😜 Just had to get that out. Lol. Cool little model, but I was very much expecting suspension especially on a Baja car. C’mon!! Even a roll cage shoulda been part of the interior. But, then again, I don’t have any solido’s, so I didn’t really know what to expect. The painted belts made me laugh though. 😂

Lol!! Those painted belts like... Why!?!?! Solido makes "solid" (pun intended) models, good looking, cheap but of course lacking on the details dept. Oh well...

Not seen one of these before but I really like it - there are some weird details visible if you know your VWs though; Dash is from curved screen Super Beetle/1303, whereas this is a normal, flat screen car. front suspension is very odd, the standard torsion bars are in place but not connected to anything, but then it has big A-arms between the front wheels. Think I'll leave mine on its wheels and not think about it too much...

Oh yeah, probably a mix and match from previous Solido releases lol. It looks cool, but yeah, I think that if you want exact or just proper details, Schuco might be better with VWs.

How hard would this be to take apart? A bit of paint on the interior details like knobs and dash would make it much better. Exterior is nicely done, though. I think they put the money where it's most visible. Their Challengers have some dash and door detail and look very good on the shelf.

I haven't seen any videos recently but I don't believe they are too hard to pull apart. Indeed, exterior looks very good and I really like their Challengers too. I think these would make nice little side projects!!
