Cheap homesteading is unboxing and assembling his new 30T hydraulic wood splitter made by black Diamond. The wood splicer is sold under many different names. Here are some different stores that sell the same wood splitter under a different brand names. Princess Auto sells Red Rock, Firewood hoarders club Sells Forest king, YTL sells Brute and performance build. Home Depots sells Country pro.Canadian tire sells Yardworks. They make incredible log spitters at a reasonable price.

Just bought the same model from Peavey Mart in Ontario. It's a very heavy unit and DOES NOT COME WITH HYDRAULIC OIL. So its about $90.00 here for a pail of 5 gallons of oil and it will apparently take all of it. I haven't put mine together yet hence I was watching the video for any hits. Thanks for the information. I will let viewers know how it went once I assemble it.

Nice, I used a come a long and ratchet straps to put it together. Hung the come a long from a rafter to lift the heavy items up

I bought the exact same unit after seeing this but its marketed under the name Performance Built as well and sold by Rona and Lowes Canada. Super impressed by it.

Hi Mark, I just bought one today from TSC but it did not come with assembly instructions so I really do appreciate you doing this video on how to put it together. Unfortunately I didn't get the smok'n deal that you did but like you said it looks like it is really well built.

Hi Mark, the wheel bearings need to be packed with grease. I still do it by hand only because my bearing packer walked off or I left it somewhere.

I have the 25T model only down fall is it’s hard to start in -20c weather lol but I do have a Herman Nelson heater and it takes 10 min and it fires up Looking to put an electric start motor on mine

Just put new one together, without instructions (not included). Did pretty good... 20 ton unit .. Well built....

Make sure you always shut off fuel valve let carb run itself out to prevent any flooding or ethanol corrosion problems

Excellent buy! I saw the flyer too & couldn't get down to the TSC fast enough, I can't build one for the cost of this unit & all the used splitters on kijijii are either junk, worn out or they're asking almost MSRP for a newer one.I'm assembling mine once I finish repairing the garden tractor, your Kohler engine fired right up!

I get TSC daily specials on line every day . I saw that splitter on sale . You could have ordered it on line and picked it up at the store . It does go on sale a few times .

@@henryrodgers3409 In fact that's what I did, I was attempting to be funny about how fast I got down there! I was so worried they would sell out before I drove down the 60 miles the next day that I did in fact buy it online first at 10 pm the day before.

I like when you just said you should probably get someone else to help you lol. They loaded mine up in my pick up trust me you need somebody to help you I’m pretty strong and that main piece boy that is heavy you don’t want that to drop

Don't know how pleased I would be paying over nine hundred bucks for a log splitter and have to assemble it when I got it home it better be ready to roll after I pay that money

These supposedly come with road-rated tires, but I would not recommend highway or rough road pulling at speed. The wheel axle stubs are 3/4 inch round steel with about a 2 inch length welded onto the hydraulic fluid tank, which is also the cross beam. There is no spring suspension so a bumpy road with the 500 lb plus weight would would put massive stress on those welds. Mine is a 27 ton, same brand as in this video.

I like how people point out mistakes that the video producer makes. Here's another one: You're pouring the oil from the 5 gallon (18.9L) jug incorrectly and making a big mess. When those those (including one liter jugs) are full, pour with the spout at the top of the jug, that way you can tilt it much further before any comes out, avoiding making a spill. I will not make videos because I don't want my self-image of being perfect destroyed by commenting people like me.

Is it possible to add a second log catcher to it I bought the same one and bought an extra log catcher would it work basically might need longer bolts attach one on the opposite side?

The filter screen stays IN tank during fueling to keep crap out of tank.

g'day good video m8. . . . ..i am putting together a 40 tonner . . . easy assembly to do. . . .except for that plastic suction pipe there is no way that i can get it on the pump its like the motor is sitting too close to the oil tank. . . . . .

Is it possible the suction pipe is to long. Or if you turn the fitting so the pipe loops more. Hope you get it

I haven’t had a chance to use it much with the snow and all but the spring I’m going to use it lots I can’t Foresee a problem it looks pretty well-built. Spring is just around the corner hopefully. Thanks for watching

What’s the rating on these wheels it could be driven on the road correct but not over certain limit?

They’re definitely have road tires. But I wouldn’t want to Tow too fast. I just tow it around behind my 4 wheeler I don’t have to go anywhere.

@@cheaphomesteading Yeah I go on the website and says yeah you can drive it on the road the only thing I might do is go to my local tire shop and see if I get better tires
