See how the Gen 2 Mini Mover is used to park a STACER Outlaw 429 boat from an incline. This could be used to move a caravan or a trailer. The incline used here is over 5 degrees on concrete. No problem. The load moved would have been in excess of 850Kg (~1874lb).

Nice vid Bob, cheers. Is the tube used on the mini mover a standard (48mm) size? i.e. fits a standard jockey wheel clamp? I cant find this anywhere & my trailer has a 120x50mm drawbar, still under warranty so drilling/bolting in is a no-no. I need to buy a clamp that bolts over the drawbar, not into it & the tube size is necessary to do this. Appreciate the assistance.

Awesome. Just bought one of these in Brazil. Is it not fully retractable, thou?

Would like to have heard the noise the unit makes, as I've heard they can be quite loud. Thanks for the video.

Thanks for the review. Does it have enough power to get the boat right up the driveway from the bottom ?
@bobrobinson8544
@bobrobinson8544 2 года назад
Reg I have never tried. If I have time I will give it a go on Friday. Might be a bit of an ask though. Will also check angle of driveway at a couple of additional points.

Some more info. The steeper parts of the driveway vary between 8 and 8.6 degrees. Over the manufacturers rating. I started at the bottom and got the boat through the gates. By this time the motor was struggling.Still moving the boat back, but I was not prepared to stress it out. Don't know if it would have made it to the top. I suspect not.

@@bobrobinson8544 Many thanks Bob. Yes it did look a bit steep and I believe 7 degrees is the maximum recommended. Where I need to use mine to manoeuvre the trailer on the driveway is on a slope but about the same as your drive where you need to swing it up and around so fingers crossed I should just be able to use it Ok. The Mini Mover just arrived so looking forward to putting it into action !

@@regwatson2017 Hi Reg, I’m just wondering how the Gen 2 jockey wheel pushed the van up 7 degree slope, cheers

@@annahubatka6471 Hi Anna...I have been able to avoid having to use mine on the worst of my driveway slope which would have been much steeper than 7 degrees but I have pushed a very well laden trailer (7x5) around on that sort of angle and maybe a little more manouevering it on the drive - whilst you can hear the motor is definitely working harder than when on the flat it still worked ok and never looked like giving up. If you had anything bigger though like a caravan or big boat on that sort of slope I think it would be risking it. The motor is powerful but very slow like a snail - maybe 1 mile per hr but speed isn't important for me and the wheel has made life a lot safer using it. The trailer got away from me once before I bought the wheel when I was trying to move it by myself and tried to squash me through a wood fence. For practical purposes on a slope and if I had to guesstimate I'd say the motor is similar to having the equivalent of two and a half / three average strength men pushing so if they could do it the motor could. In my case I was lucky to escape with just a bruised wrist! Hope that helps 😀

Thanks for the upload, please can you advise which quick release clamp you used for this, to allow removal whilst towing? Thanks

Chris I just used the standard jockey wheel clamp from SuperCheap. By quick release i meant as compared with the lock provided.

day can you please tell me what kind of lead I would need to rewire this to have an anderson pug end given it seems to only come with a positive and negative lead.
@bobrobinson8544
@bobrobinson8544 2 года назад
I took my cable to an auto electrician and had him extend the provided lead and fit the anderson plug. Because the cable comes with a non standard plug on the motor end, I can only suggest that you get some 8 gauge electrical cable and connect it to the other end and fit the anderson plug to this. Sorry I can't be of more help.

@@bobrobinson8544 Thanks Bob. Ive got a mate who is an auto electrician. Ill ask him to fit an Anderson end. I reckon there is a good chance my caravan has an Anderson plug permanently fitted somewhere up near the aFrame. Otherwise my KINGS 4wd centre battery box has those black and red screws on them that I recon the mimi mover eyelet plugs would go on to. Just trying not to add a 30KG AGM battery (carting it around) to the mix if somehow I can plug straight into the caravan - one less move that way. Thank you again Bob

Why don't you explain how to assemble for example the steering handle? I've looked at 4 videos now and nobody explains how to assemble the handle? Does this have a neutral gear?
@fishingwiththefossil.6199
@fishingwiththefossil.6199 2 года назад
MP there is really nothing special about fitting the handle which is most probably why I never spent any time covering it. However yours is the second question re the handle so I will do a video on it. Because RU-vid will not allow photos or videos in a reply you will have to wait for me to find time to create a new video.

So slow moving... are there not different speeds?
@bobrobinson8544
@bobrobinson8544 3 года назад
Unfortunately only the one speed. It is a bit slow, but you get used to it. I suspect that the gearing might have something to do with the load it can manage with a small motor as well as the ability to handle a small incline.

Thanks for a great video - what was most important to me was the assembly configuration (I didn't get a manual!)
