the real steel M1A1 (The one used by the military) was actually only shooting at 700-800 rpm so from 11.5 to 13.3 rps is the ideal real world rof. the original experimental variants ( dubbed the persuader and annihilator) shot much faster at around 1200 rpm so 20 rps.
Great review as always, the screen switch with batteries, i would make it little bit longer, so when you are trying to find it on the "timeline" of the video its easier. And maybe next time use second camera/ just mobile Phone and do some paper targer practice on the "range" you have there or just show some grouping od the paper targets in the video. The zoom on the "range" was OK, finaly i saw where the bbs were going. But overal again great work and thanks for the work you are putting in
Kool video, now I need to get one , the information you gave us was great because I don't see alot of videos on this one . Now I feel better and more confident on buying one . THANK YOU
For me my inner gangsta comes out and I'm all about the drum mag. Just looks alot more intimidating with it in. Plus the winding mechanism is more reliable for feeding on higher rates of fire. I can see why people like the straight mag though. Pheas
hi pheas as always a magazine with a content that reminds us of a replica of the world secondary or prohibition a very symbolic replica pleasant grip but with a certain weight especially with the camembert charger a replica that requires respect but that's only my opinion a replica that only needs to be powered by its original battery because other voltages do not give a realistic shot a replica that all airsofters must have owned good work pheas as you know how to do it 🍻 cheers 🖤💛💖
Thanks for the in depth and clear review! Just a question, are those Tamiya connectors full size or small? - need to grab some adapters for my 2200 plane batteries. Thanks as always 😁
Intend to get this but before that, just to confirm that other than the handguard, the pistol grip & stock, the rest of the parts are made of metal including the magazine?
Amazing review! You've helped me make my final decision on buying this gun. I do have a question though, do you know the name of the connector type for the batteries? I want to buy 11.1v Lipo and I want to make sure that I buy the right ones that will work with this gun.
Glad you found the video so helpful! The connector by default on these is a Mini Tamiya Connector. I would see if the retailer is willing to swap it to Deans as they are a better connector, and then buy deans based batteries. Pheas
Hello Pheas! First of all, I loved the video! I'd also like to ask, would this airsoft be an adequate starter gun? Recently I had the chance to play with my friends' airsoft and I really got into it and since I absolutely love the M1A1 and I thought it'd be good for the first gun since it's moderately priced. What do you think? -Bence
Hiya, I am glad you enjoyed the video! This would be a decent starter for you to get to grips with. It has a plenty big enough stock for a big battery so you don't have to worry about lots of smaller ones to get through a day and there are plenty of mags available in different sizes (high caps, mid caps and drum mag) to suit your needs. The range and accuracy will need upgrading eventually (way down the road) with a tight bore and better hop rubber, but its should be a perfectly serviceable and good runner until you decide to upgrade! Hope that helps! Pheas.
@@PheasAirsoft Thank you for your answer, I think this might've been the final push for me to pick up the gun. Keep up the good work, your videos are awesome! -Bence
Hi Pheas great video and just watched the disassembley video aswell 👍🏻👍🏻 One question tho does the hop wheel not get covered ?? looks like it stays open to the elements??
You are right. It is left open to the elements which in general use should be ok, but could also leave it easily caught on something and change the hop or for muck to accumulate. Pheas
I found it to be pretty good, worked and fed well for me during my tests. The guy that has it now says it can be hit and miss with heavier weight bbs, he was trying 0.28s in it and said it wasn't amazing, but anything below that feeds lovely! Pheas
Hiya. I don't recall it having the foam in there. It would have been to keep the battery from rattling about, but if its putting pressure on the seams when pulling... thats some strong adhesive... Maybe cut though it with a knife close to where its stuck on?? Pheas
Is this the cyma Thompson on Taiwan gun? I see it on there for £79 and I'm thinking of buying it because I want to start a ww2 set up but I don't have lots of money for Airsoft
Hello! It is indeed the one from Taiwan Gun. They are still not currently posting to the UK, however their website now says they plan to be shipping again "in the next few weeks" I believe they are due to sign a new deal with a new courier. Pheas
I've ordered one of these Cymas, too. I am thinking about getting a drum mag in the future. How many bbs can you shoot when it is fully wound up? Great review and regards from Germany!
Hello! Glad you like the video! I am partial to a Thompson! Especially with a drum mag. Fully wound I think you can get anywhere from 200 rounds and up out of it on a full wind up. They use almost identical innards to a normal m4 / AK high cap for the winding spring, but each drum will be different. Hope that helps! Pheas
@@PheasAirsoft Thanks for answering! Having so many rounds to fire without rewinding is great, even more when using a 11.1V Li-Po. I also heard you can make some changes for it to hold more than the ~450 rounds.
@@hendrikg3616 you are very welcome! I don't know the exact instructions to do it, but I am lead to believe there is some internal structuring you can cut away to make more room for ammo! And who doesn't need more ammo! Pheas
i have a question about battery, what type of battery cant use for this? I have 8,4 V battery, and 9,6 Battery and both are 1600mAh, but i am afraid the 9,6 could damage a shooting cables, but you have some stronger battery i saw at your video, arent these batteries damage the gun? Or i shouldnt not be afraid using some stronger batteries? Thank you for your answer and opinion
Virtually nothing. I believe cyma make the cybergun one and they rebrand it. Might, miiight be a couple more metal bits and that's it. Internally absolutely identical! Pheas
Hey! Can I use a 9.6 or 11.1 V battery for my Tokyo Marui M1a1 which is recommended to use 8.4v? Is it risky to plug in higher voltage batteries to the replica? Thanks!
Hello! I certainly wouldn't risk an 11.1v it wouldn't last long at all. The 9?6v you might get away with as it's not too much higher than the 8.4v. but will put it under more duress, so will shorten the life span of the gearset and / or piston a little. Pheas
Hello! For the price they cost, yes they are great pieces of kit. Not much for them externally like you can get for an M4, but they are decent enough guns! Enjoy! Pheas
Hiya, with it being plastic it wont ever sound and feel like real wood, but considering the price point of it, it does a good job to look the part to onlookers. Pheas
It's just the normal cyma one not the cybergun version of it. From what I can see... Just be delicate with the selectors as they could be a little easy to pop off and loose. Loads of potential in it though! Make sure to check out the disassembly as we that I have done. Pheas
Hello! I am not sure if it would be powerful enough to get the metal bbs out of the end of the barrel to be honest, what weight do they usually come in? The magazine thats included has a winding wheel at the bottom, when you add bbs, they are wound up the feeding tube and when they cant go any further, the spring in the winding mechanism then starts to be compressed with further winding. As the BBs fire out, the spring unwinds and keeps the bbs firing out, but it needs to be wound up more during use to keep them firing out. Hope that helps! Pheas
Hello! This one did yes, not a very good / strong one, but it did. Some people report that they don't have a sling or battery in the box though, so this could be batch or retailer dependant. Pheas
Hiya. If the mini type fit in which it came with, then the 9.6v nunchuck should also fit in there, there is enough room. Is it the smaller style cells? or the larger type ones? Pheas
Hello! I am looking to buy this Thompson gun but many people tell me that the battery doesnt last long. What battery should I get for this gun that lasts a long time? (im new to airsoft)
Hello! The included battery will certainly not last long. I would advise getting a high mah 7.4v lipo to go into the stock. Something like around 2200mah I find will last me a whole days play and then some! But you will need a special charger for it. What country are you in and I will find a couple of links for you! Pheas
@@PheasAirsoft Its fixed again Idk what happened but when I put the mag in "aggressively" it started to work again. Have you found any batteries that work good with this gun? And maybe a smart charger too if you have a good one. Thanks!
Hiya. Yes you can put an 11.1v into it, but its probably not the best idea. I would have thought it wouldn't last very long before something breaks in there. TM just don't build them for that sort of battery type. I would stick to the 7.4v and upgrade the motor! Pheas
Hello! It will depend on where you are and where you are buying it from. I have seen it as cheap as £90 but as expensive as £160, so will depend on your country of residence and the retailer you buy from. Pheas
yeah, it would do you well. Can be a bit uncomfortable where the stock is around the pistol grip, but will perform well enough for any airsoft field. Pheas
I love my Thompson. Got a Vintage Wood Kit form the 1950s and put the Stock and Front grip on mine. Had to do a bit of work to get a battery in it though. Totally worth it though!!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rP63SDw9LE8.html
@@PheasAirsoft well, only on automatic i can a shot or four in a row, but when single shooting nothing comes out...guess the feeding isnt working properly
