So I decided to get my C&R license and used it for the first time to get this surplus firearm from Royal Tiger Imports. I have heard mixed reviews on them and was leary of ordering form them. I bit the bullet, ordered a gun I have wanted for a while, and this is how it turned out.

Congrats on getting your C&R and thanks for sharing...I don't recall seeing other reviews of MAS 49/56's from RTI, so this is helpful.

Prepare for a long cleanup, it was plenty dirty and smelled of goat, but turned out pretty good. I don’t think the bore had been cleaned since it was new. 😂

Very cool rifle. I've wanted one for a long time but RTI would never guarantee bore quality that I saw even on the refurbished ones and didn't wanna risk getting such an expensive (to me) rifle that might not even be a shooter.

Some RTI guns need a lot of tlc, but it’s a fun process. Got a pretty gun there, nice white bolt handle

That's how a lot of my guns come. I bought an SKS couple of years ago that was in similar condition, couldn't even see down the barrel. I "pushed out" all the cosmoline and after cleaning it up, the barrel was like new.

Nice thing about those rough looking Chinese SKS rifles is the bore is chrome lined so even one with rusty metal usually has a nice bore. On these you never know what you're going to see once you peek down the barrel.

CETME Bayonet will fit G-3 pattern rifles and some Spanish bolt rifles .

I just shot sixty rounds of 6.5x55 Swedish out of my M96 that I am going to convert to 7.5x54 French. Should be interesting. Tune back in for a range day with it.
