Really like the video, thanks for showing this to us!!! i just got into fountain pens and the Montblanc 149 is one that i hear a lot of. I also hear a lot about the Pelikan M1000, really nice stuff. Keep doing more vid's !!!
how much line variation does this pen have? and im sort of new to fountain pens, but does the nib size matter for giving different line variation and if so which nib gives the most? or at least some.
Not much, nothing like the new flex nib of the calligraphy pen (it has the most line variation). the nib size is important, as is the speed with which you move it over the paper, and the propensity for the paper to bleed or feather (absorb and spread the ink). Thanks for the question!
I prefer softer and wetter nib, hence Pelikan m1000, m800 and m805 are more suitable for me, I got a MB LeGrand and was very disappointed with the nib - very boring nib in my opinion, and way overpriced - the price tag was more expensive than my Pelikan m1000; the only good thing about MB pen is that I can use it to "show off" and "impress" people, in terms of writing experience MB cannot hold a candle with my Pelikans.
ink can dry in the feed, so it would not flow well. Empty it of ink and try flushing it with water, not via the cartridge, but via a converter so you have clean water flowing in the nib.
Mine is coming in the mail tomorrow. When I looked at them in the store, I was definitely surprised as to how cheap they felt. Oh well. Still bought it lol
@@DarianG98 please be sure to check over it very careful when you recieve it. I have notice their quality control (not to mention also their customer service, both at the boutique and online) is horrid. I went through 3 exchanges for this pen and even then the 3rd and final was still not perfect in some aspects.
@@DarianG98 yep 👍. Hoping yours arrives flawless 🙏. Its a great writing utensil, so i doubt you'll have an issue there. Just be sure to inspect it well. Its a $600+ pen, so it should arrive no less than perfect.
