I remember reading an article in 2021 in which someone at Nintendo said the Switch was about halfway through its lifespan. Hopefully that means we've got at least 2 more years of Switch before another console comes out. I think the Switch is perfect, my 2017 Switch still runs great, and Nintendo is so good at making the hardware do amazing things. I see no need for an upgrade! In any case, great video! Always fun to have a new console around!
Having a specific lifespan doesn't mean a new one isn't coming out, I'm sure Nintendo wishes Switch 1 will continue selling as a budget option even after Switch 2 comes out. It's a great system, but for ease of porting games it would be good to get a boost in performance.
I hear that the OLED screen is a great one and worth the upgrade.. im still debating whether to upgrade or not but i guess i will. Since the new console wont see the light for at least 2025
Thank you for increasing the likelihood of a switch 2 in the near future! :D But that really is gorgeous console, a worthy successor to your original console. I wish you tons of fun with Tears of the Kingdom! Looking forward to it too
The limited edition legend of Zelda consoles always look so cool it makes me wish I had the money and space to be able to collect them also! Always happy to see your videos finngamer, I’ll tune in for your Tears of the kingdom unboxing! Take care
I bought one too, it will be here may 2nd, can’t wait! I’m in the same boat as you, a dying day one switch. IGN stated that it’s confirmed of no new switch coming soon so I think we made the right choice!😅
Your unboxing videos are always nice, The first video introduced me to your channel was Bloodborne Nightmare Edition The collector edition, and I bought after I saw your video. Now I heard it's very rare.
Thanks! I have a soft spot for that unboxing as well. Sadly that game was on loan from a friend, how allowed me to just open it. I would love to own that, the price has skyrocketed!
always nice to see new videos from you. are you planning on making an updated amiibo collection video? after the link amiibo releases would be a perfect time i think, also because i have no idea how many are out now and you are the only person i know of who i can confidenly say has literally every single one
Thanks for watching! I'll definitely be doing an updated video once all Smash Bros amiibo are out. Pyra + Mythra come out in July, but that would still leave Sora. Can't believe they wouldn't do an amiibo for Sora, but just strange they haven't announced it. But in any case, I'll be doing an updated amiibo video sometime this year!
Nice unboxing, thanks! How are you liking the OLED so far? I think it's very good, try handheld with Metroid Dread for example and you really notice the difference.
@@finngamer I totally get you! I recently sold my switch and bought a Steam Deck. And while it’s a great machine (that will probably run Tears of the Kingdom soon enough) seeing your unboxing makes my inner collector itch :D.
tysm for this video!! i was originally planning to get the totk switch myself, but after seeing that it didnt include the game (even though it was 50€ more than the normal oled which isnt justifiable to me) it was a hard pass. instead of that im trying to find the closest aliexpress replacement shells, so the shots in this video are very useful in that regard (hopefully I'll get some of decent quality that at least match the real version lol)
No problem! To me it was more than justified, as a Zelda special edition will always be collectable and valuable, whereas at some point the regular Switches will be cheap as chips.
@@finngamer I totally agree, its the point of limited editions after all! i also enjoy collecting things but not really for the monetary value if it makes sense? its a matter of preference honestly (at this point i might aswell get it if the price drops in a month or two.. i guess that the aesthetics of it really captivated me + the plain white oled looks really boring and kind of ugly imo) also i forgot to add this question to my original comment but how is the overal quality of the totk OLED compared to the original switch? (ex. feel of the material etc) because I've heard in other comments that the materials might've been different to normal (OLED) switch but im not sure if this is really the case
Has anyone noticed the difference in the construction of this model? this model is lighter than the normal OLED model, and I don't think they used aluminum here (kickstand and front in old OLED is made from Aluminium)
Omg feels like Breath of the wild just came out not too long ago when i just turned 24 .. now im 30 ... Has it really been that long since that game lol
Mahtaako myöhemmin tulla myös Zelda pelillä varustettuna? Itse en aio ostaa, vaan odotan Switch 2:sta, mikä toivottavasti on Switchin kaltainen ja taaksepäin yhteensopiva. Näyttää kyllä hienolta tämä 👍
Everybody has written off Nintendo each generation ever since the GameCube. And currently Nintendo is seeing it's biggest boom yet. Nintendo will be more than fine. Its exclusive games just demand attention. Even at worst it's the perfect second console for people who play "serious" games on every other platform.
@@finngamer serious question here if Nintendo next console failed like WiiU can Nintendo still survive? Remember young gen today have 0 interest towards Nintendo games cos they all grow up playing games on their moms tablet. Also most gamers on twitch RU-vid worldwide prefer playing games on ps4 ps5
