That is truly staggering. I've never seen you so excited too! As you know, I'm a huge John Hiatt fan and I have the split colour vinyl of Crossing Muddy Water to Master of Disaster (my favourite actually!), and Same Old Man and Open Road on black. All outstanding pressings and great albums. That stretch is incredible. I've never heard Live from Austin or the Eclpise Sessions, which I won a signed copy of but never arrived. "The amount of great music here is absolutely ridiculous." No kidding. It looks like a treasure trove you found filled with gold.
I had to share my excitement! :) I played Crossing Muddy Waters, The Tiki Bar Is Open, and Beneath This Gruff Exterior last night and the sound was phenomenal. Master of Disaster isn't my favorite but has grown on me since I got the CD. That's the thing: there's no substandard album here :) Every one of these is an excellent record on its own. I have several of them on vinyl already and those will be going to friends who need them.
@@brettsmusicreviews2641 Tiki and Gruff are like one album in my mind, likely due to the presence of Sonny Landreth. They are the best of two albums in his discography IMO. Masters of Disaster just sounds so good based on how it was recorded and the first half is as good as anything he ever did although it tapers off towards the end. I was fortunate enough to have seen Hiatt on his Mystic Pinball tour and it is a real sleeper of an album. I am so happy that you got that box. After everything you've been going through over the past while, you deserve to indulge yourself with something as special as that incredible set from one of the best artists of all time. And it will last forever.
@@roblabelle7874 I spun Master of Disaster last night and I really like it more with each spin. Having it on wax seems to bring out its personality more. I was floored by how good some of the lyrics are.
