Nice choice. 1973 was a great year for albums, many of them huge sellers such as "Dark Side of the Moon". Here is a lesser known album from that year which I like very much. - "Cannons in the Rain" by John Stewart.
@@brettsmusicreviews2641 I just always remembered singing that song he did with Stevie Nicks called "Gold" on the school bus circa 1978! That is a lost classic super 70s jam.
I am a metal head to the core, but Shotgun Willie will ALWAYS sit around in his underwear! 😅 Love that album because my dad had a bunch of outlaw country records I used to spin when I was a kid. Gonna check out some of these things on your list. Thanks for a great video. 😅 😎
Thank you for the kind words! Outlaw Country and Metal may not seem to relate, but both were conceived by musical outsiders, bands few labels or critics would take a chance on but who fans loved. I'm a huge old-school metal fan (Motorhead, Sabbath, Priest, etc), and a huge fan of Willie, Waylon, and those folks, too. The attitude for both is similar. When we music fans can share our tastes with others, it's a great feeling. Let me know what you think of some of the others!

I was lucky enough to have a couple of girlfriends who were music nuts and friends who were about ten years older than me (who lived thru the 1970s music era and that I was too young to appreciate other than KISS and The Beatles) who REALLY gave me some life-changing lessons in music! Including Trapeze, Grand Funk (Red Album), Budgie, Roy Buchanan, Nick Drake and Captain Beyond! None of those people are around anymore, but their influence on me lives on. I'm still here at least, loving life and music, and it's a beautiful thing. 😊
Fantastic selection. Those are all killer albums and I have them all except the Zappa and Sabbath. 1973 was a monster year for music. The Allman Brothers released "Brothers and Sisters" and Marshall Tucker released their incredible debut, which I consider the definitive Southern Rock album. Gregg also released his solo masterpiece "Laid Back". I'm love that you include the Dead album which is, in my opinion, one of their finest. And thank you also for not including Dark Side. The most overrated album of all time. Great stuff there.
I'm not surprised our collections overlap on so many 😁 I've never heard the debut MT album in its entirety, so that's one I need to remedy! I was just turned on to that Dead record last year at the local vinyl night. Such great songs.
