I've been saying this since these were first announced. Some of the Arrma guys are just out there, I have seen some saying the new Team Associated Rival MT10 is a copy of the Arrma Granite.............

Oh dear, please tell me that's not true... 🤦🏼‍♂️ That Rival MT10 is actually the old Helion MT with some minor changes. And those trucks were out long before the Granite 4x4 was even an idea. Haha.

slick2500 you have to remember that such a popular brand as Arrma will attract all kinds of people, some with rather strange views. Why can’t people just be RC fans, and not delineate themselves into blinkered brand warfare eh?

@@AussieRCPlayground I think it was on Jay Tees video where he was showing pictures of the car on the Team Associated website on his computer, some dude seriously replied it looks like an Arrma Granite copy. I watch a lot of videos of random cars and there is almost always someone in the comments saying that it is an Arrma copy, it's worse with anything that is a 1/8 buggy or truggy.

+David Fernandez absolutely. Just like how the arrma typhon took ALOT of inspiration from the HPI vorza flux.

What did Arrma take from the Vorza? Im not trolling or arguing just genuinley curious. Im looking at both buggies online right now and the chassis' look very different

I wanted this car and also just bought the arrma typhon and modifying it. Besides the radio service and tires it’s a great car.

Indeed. You'll have a much easier time finding parts for the Typhon over this just because Arrma is popular.

@@rsoul7282 yes, it's fairly big but I doubt I'll even be able to use half throttle. I have a Savage XS Flux which I rip around and set up jumps for and that thing shifts too but, agreed, the Kraton will be a different prospect altogether!

Thank you for the kind words, but disagree with you about calling this a Typhon clone. Putting the name aside, there is nothing on this car that is a clone of ARRMA's version. Sorry.

Did you even look at this car? Or any other 1/8th buggy for that matter? They all look similar to an extent.

So you're paying a certain amount for a car around the price point of armaa, that looks like armaa. Yet they don't come with diff oil

That Swedish Guy much cheaper no doubt, but if you cannot get parts for either brand your fun is going to get cut short very quickly. I like my Arrma because I know I can run it with near impunity, safe in the knowledge that if something breaks my LHS will have it within a week. Not sure the same could be said about a Team Corally product, even though it looks quite good.

@@ThatSwedishGuy that's not the point of my input..... for the price u get diff oil/grease, plus a radio with an arrma... you don't have to worry about messing up the diff

from what ive seen from other reviews the team corally cars are actually weaker than arrmas...

@@kaozer666 Yup was not very impressed with the Kronos or the Dementor. I've only talked to one guy who has the Python and he seemed to like it.

@@slick2500 i actually hoped they would be good. More competition is good for the market. But when i saw all the factory hop ups i had a gut feeling they would need them...

@@kaozer666 Me too, I had such high hopes for their to be someone to be on the same level as Arrma, but alas they made the same design mistakes Arrma did but did an even worse job at it, the Arrmas will at least hold up a little bit with their crappy rear brace system, but not the Corally, their brace seems to be even worse than Arrmas.

What better way to get people's attention and get them talking? I see it as clever marketing. 😏

To me, this marketing strategy says that the company did not believe they could not carve out a following on their own merits, so they needed to do something clever (tricky) to breakthrough. It’s like when I go to my local convenience store and there is a knock off brand off Coca-Cola. Same red can, same white lettering but in a slightly different font. To me, that says the cola is probably crap and we need to do something desperate to make you buy it

That's a more cynical way of looking at it. I'm more of an optimist and like to think they did this play on words as bit of banter or humor while getting people talking about the brand. To imply the car is crap just because of the name is a bit unfair. I'm not saying it's good or bad, I'm simply referring to the name, we will soon see how it compares in due time. 😉

I would like to know what arrma will do, I mean they even clone the bodies of the cars 1:1... but they are Looking not so cool as the original arrma bodies

Give me a break... The only body that looks similar to any of the ARRMA cars is the Dementor, but you can also accuse ARRMA of copying Proline's body on that one and the Badlands tyres on the Notorious/OutCast. None of the other bodies that Corally have done are copied. As for the names, I think that's just clever marketing to get people talking, nothing more. Get over it.

When I saw your thumbnail I have to say that I tought that this buggy looks very similar to a typhon... mainly because of the colors of the body, Red shocks ends and wheel nuts. Do Not get me wrong, I think its a great buggy. They decided to take a Look at another Company, so they have to Deal With it when people say their first impressions when they See the car.

+coolcross look man, hate to say it but you’re clearly not correct in that statement. The only reason you think they look similar is because they’re both 8th scale buggies and they both have red anodized aluminum parts. Arrma didn’t invent the flat planed 8th scale buggy, arrma didn’t invent red anodized aluminum, and arrma was the first to none of those parades.

How is it a "knock-off"? The only reason you and a few others say this is because of the name, but had they called it Sally, I bet no one would say that. To me, this just another buggy and there is nothing they've done that would imply they "knocked off" anyone. The name is just a clever way of getting people to notice them, it doesn't mean it's a "knock-off".

In my opinion, which I'm obligated to have, their whole 1/8 line up is the same as Arrmas. I mean I keep an open mind. They all look like decent vehicles, dont get me wrong. But the Dementor was what finally did it for me. If the python doesn't come off as a typhon to you, the dementor sure looks exactly like an outcast/notorious.. they may not be "knock offs" but their 100% riding on the coat tail that Arrma has built for themselves. Now, if they can handle the torture and abuse people put them threw, like the Arrmas do (not saying their bulletproof but still really stout) then I cant say anything bad about them. Like you said, on the electronics side they nailed it, now if the rest of the car is capable is the question. If they hold up, then maybe I'll have to pick on up because I already upgrade my arrmas to a max8/6, and servos.. Next thing to come to mind is parts availability. That's where arrma made it (once getting onboard with the Horizon team) imo. I'm not about to get another rig that I have to wait days/weeks/even months to get parts for. Did that with my v2 talion and it was more of a headache that it was worth at times. Time will tell but as of now, like I said, I'll stay strong with team arrma.
