[Unboxing & Testing] Furitek Aluminium Case ESC & Motor Combo 

The original plug that it comes with is JST-PH (2.0mm pitch) but I changed it to JST-XH (2.5mm pitch) so it has the standard balance plug size. And I solder the wires directly to the motor.

These have too much grip for drifting. No, I don't like them but I have no choice because I don't want to ruin the wooden floor and disturb my landlord at the same time. I'm looking for something to cover it that has less grip. Some suggest vinyl but it's a bit hard to find in my town.

What type of Flood Mat are these?

@@shrimperlincs3395 EVA mats. I think you can find it in hardware stores or home improvement stores. What I have are 50x50cm a piece for garage floor or something like that.

Tie rod on the Mini-Z buggy is know to fail so you will need to upgrade that to aluminium system. Also check if the case is tighten in too much or if there's any debris in it. As for the battery, it's something that needs some diagnostics. Short runtime can come from many things from sticky drivetrain to old batteries.

The surpass rocket ESC is horrible. You'll need to change the ESC.

@@BeaversHobby I see, thanks! I thought mine was a faulty unit but turns out it just sucks but i eventually replaced both the motor and esc with m-radon v2.1 and sensored motor and now the rocket esc is pretty much unusable lol.

@@jasonlam8074 For me the usable things from that ESC are the JST-PH plug and motor wires. I salvaged them for other projects. 😅

It's a test unit so I didn't pay for the item. However I did pay for the import tax. It was 65 Euros. The ESC + alu. case + bluetooth cost $79.99 without shipping so it's rather expensive for a casual player. I don't recommend this Furitek combo if you are on a budget. Get the DasMikro ESC bit.ly/3h07teH with Surpass Rocket motor bit.ly/3ircxKC . 3500KV is around the same power as the original motor. If you want more speed go for 5500KV. This is the most cost effective set right now. You don't even need a programming card.

@@BeaversHobby Is the Suprass ESC bad? Or just not as good as the DasMikro? What would I lose if I used the Suprass ESC instead of the DasMikro?

@@shrimperlincs3395 Surpass ESC is really bad. It has a lot of cogging on low rev, it doesn't have enough power and the response is really slow. You can pull the throttle and feel that nothing happens for a while.

Receiver depends on the transmitter you have. I recommend Flysky Noble NB4 transmitter with GMR receiver. It's the only brand that has an official micro receiver. Other than that you can use Futaba 4PN, 7PX, 7PXR or Sanwa MT-S, MT-44, M12-S and M17 and use a DasMikro receiver for it. On the budget side, I recommend Radiolink RC4GS v2.

Yes, it's the same size. This is the standard of 1410 motor. Every motor is the same size.

No, it doesn't come with pinion gear. There are different pitches for each car as well as pulley so you'll have to provide your own. Most of the gears are tight fit so you just place the gear on a flat surface and push the motor in from the back. No need to heat it up. Some have grub screw though it's not that common.

The soldering video is in the edit. If your wires are long enough I highly recommend you remove the pins and solder the wires directly to the motor terminals.

@@juancar69 Maybe you can find other wires to replace them if they are not long enough. 22awg wire will do fine.

@@Mark-ci3kt Yes, the rocket motor pairs with anything else that's not rocket ESC and it'll be a good motor. Rocket motor works great with Furitek too.

Yes, it does. WLtoys uses front mounted screws for the motor.

I've got a wltoys k989 and atm I have an issue with the car...the motor spins but the wheels will move when the car is held off the ground buy when put on the ground doesn't move ....any thoughts...sorry I know this is a totally unrelated topic...also what would be your personal recommendation for a brushless combo for my k989

@@rcboyztoyz6804 It sounds like the motor doesn't have enough power to drive the car, I suggest you check if the drivetrain is smooth and when you take the motor out you can push the car without much resistant. If something is binding then you'll have to free up the drivetrain like in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TnhriaSSfSA.html . If you want to upgrade WLtoys with brushless I recommend the DasMikro ESC bit.ly/3h07teH with Surpass Rocket motor bit.ly/3ircxKC 3500KV is around the same power as the original motor. @@BeaversHobby hello thank u for u rapid response...and I too think that there is something wrong with the motor ...because the drive train seems smooth and all the wheels roll freely when I put the trim up by one....so I do think that there is something wrong with the motor....thank you for your time.
