I had the old blade! Such a great heli, you will love it! Worked amazing until my cousin flew his 1/5 scale gas heli into it and shredded it to pieces... Lol
good heli i have one in order to fully explore the potential of its flying characteristics you might want to get yourself a spectrum programmable radio it will fly much better dx6i is a good one
I just watch a review of a flying rc car. Looked pretty neat. It's just small and the battery doesn't last long. I'd like to see a 1/8 scale flying rc car lol.
I'm not trying to be a downer but I've owned about 5 blade heli's and the 120sr was my least favorite.. It's to big for indoor and way underpowered for outdoor with wind.. It's very slow, not much fun, and batteries die's off quick. The tail motor is also not reliable and needs mods. It's also pretty old , Horizon hobbies doesn't even sell it any more so parts might be a pain.. I would go for a newer 180, 200, 230.. Don't be intimidated by the size, it will have more power to fly in the wind and there actually easier.. They all have safe tech for newbies and you can go to more advanced levels as you get better.. If you return 120sr before flying it you might be able to get an exchange.. One more tip if your not caring about doing 3d hell stuff and just want to fly , Multi copters need a lot less maintenance and are just as much fun to fly.. Most hell's also break parts when they crash because of so many moving parts.... Once I bought a muti copter I haven't broken any parts except for a few props and haven't bought another hell since..
+george aronis Thanks for the info! However my hobby store actually can still get these heli's the warehouse has hundreds of them from my understanding. and parts are still available. and i do plan on going bigger here soon. Im not worried if i totally blow this one up from learning. ive already flown it a few times and even tho it may have some quirks. to me its still a blast for now. Thanks for the info tho ill definitely keep it all into consideration!
Id love to get my hands on one! Hopefully next winter i can aim at getting one. I have some future plans already for the summer including the Xmaxx, a dragster and another helicopter already...so thats definitely on my list for next winter for sure!
if you want to get in to flying rc planes, get the hobbyzone champ. that is the best trainer you can get. when i started 5 years ago, i started on the champ, there will be sometimes that you will crash but the plane will be easy to control. and then from there you can move up to a sport cub s that hobbyzone makes. even the sport cub can be a great trainer from personal experince.
Sorry... That's a horrible heli. If you are a beginner try Nano QX. It's not a heli but it will help you learn your orientations much better than that thing. Less broken parts and less maintenance, much better to fly and perfect for indoor.
+qntt2002 I have already flown that one in the past. It was definitly fun to learn on however i had been out of the heli world for a couple years and i just wanted to get the hang of it again. Ive already flown this one and so far i have done very well with it and to me...anyways...its easy to learn on.
