Unboxing the ChiaoGoo Forte 2.0 Interchangeable Needle Set! 

I 100% agree with him. I have the first edition, but noticed all the same things he mentioned so apparently the second edition are not much improved.. These are just not worth the hype or the price.

I would check out Nimble Needles review. He bought his set with his own money. It appears they did not fix that issue. I have the first edition of these. They are not good.

We did not get a set for free, but we have sold lots of them and folks love them.

I got the first edition. These aren’t worth the price. One of them was broken in the case, all of the cords caught on the join and the tips are dull. The case is nice and they look beautiful, but the workmanship is shoddy. Even the tape measure was sewn crookedly. For this price, they should have been amazing. For the first time in over 40 years, I contacted a knitting needle company to complain. They did send me a new needle and a bunch of red lace cords and a tape measure and apologized- they stopped production of these to correct the issues, but it doesn’t sound like the new edition is any better. I have 2 full 5” sets of the original CG, a set of 4” inch, the sock set, the little shorties sets (all 3 of them), a set of DPNs and many CG fixed needles (been knitting many years and I knit a lot!). CG is all I use, so I am a committed fan of this company, but this set is not good. Personally, if I had these on hold, I would pass on them. I think the first set was only $300 and I thought that was a lot, but almost $400? No thanks.

They have addressed all of the issues that they had in the first set and we have had no complaints from people who have purchased the set, only compliments.

We’ve not had any reports from our customers of snagging, and the tips look and feel similar to the shape and quality of regular Chiaogoo needles. Thanks for finding us here on RU-vid!

I have a set and haven’t had any of these problems. I love them

I just got a forte 2.0 set last week and I haven't had any issues with them and I've used them daily in size 6 and size 15. I've also been using the swivel cables with shorties and my 4 inch bamboo set since last year and I haven't had any issues with them snagging yarn. So far they're great because they're not as slippery as metal needles and still have the warmth of wood / bamboo needles, but the metal tips help the stitches glide easily from one needle to the other. I like Norman's videos but I feel like he has bias against not liking chiaogoo and preferring knitter's pride. Like he complained about not knowing the exact composition of metal in chiaogoo needles but as someone with a severe metal allergy I've never had any issues with using metal chiaogoo needles. KP makes some nice sets but most of their cables just aren't flexible enough and I've had issues with them coming untwisted during projects. The lantern moon they produce now as well are a great option with similar swivel cables but they only have wooden needles / no metal options which not everyone may want. My LYS sold the forte set for $330 so I have no clue where his price point came from in his video unless they're more expensive in Europe or the conversion rate maybe?

@@cashmeregoatyarn5892 although I absolutely love this company, I hated my first edition of these, but needles aside, if you don’t know Norman, he is worth knowing. He has pretty amazing reviews. Even if you disagree, he is a lot of fun and interesting to watch. He makes me want to go to Germany and give him a hug.

They have addressed all of the issues from the original Forte set, so these are different. Unfortunately, that doesn't fix last years issues. I have heard that they will replace the defective items. I would contact Chiaogoo.

the case isn't leather. it's pleather.
