I have gotten a MS Quilt subscription box for a couple of years now. They always include 16 fat quarters, 1 or 2 notions and the pattern booklet! I think it's a great deal.
I just got my first Mrs. Quilty box the other day. I've started the table runner, and so far going well. I am a beginner quilter. I sew clothing so this is a new adventure for me. I'm impressed with the quality of the fabric.
I really like the subscription boxes because I get want I need. I learn something new and they choose fabric which gets me out of my comfort zone. I received my first Mrs. Quilty box, have started the table runner.
That's a lot of fabric for the price, so I agree, the value is definitely there, without a lot of fluff! Also like the pattern.:) Thanks for sharing this one, looking forward to next month's!
@@sewbeitquilts oh I agree...cutting instructions should be standard. I'm not really a template quilter, but it may take them a few months to work things out. Is it a brand new sub box?
This looks like a great box. That's a good price for 16 fat quarters and those fabrics are to my liking. Looksnlike a good value and the table runner has a nice design.
I agree. The only complaint I have is that I wish we didn’t just receive paper templates for the pattern. I wish there were cutting instructions as well.
Have seen these boxes reviewed before. Some commented about the quality of the fabric and the simplicity of the ‘magazine’. More of a beginners subscription box. Not very satisfying for more skilled sewers. Glad you showed it to us.
I totally agree! I honestly didn't find the quality of fabric to be as bad as some did... however, I am sure they pull from different manufactures so quality may vary. I was more disappointed with the template way of cutting fabric and piecing rather than rotary cutter instructions.
I'm glad you shared this, as now I know this is not the subscription for me. I tend to make small projects and rarely buy duplicates of fat quarters, plus I'm not a huge fan of florals. There also isn't really a whole lot inside it. I did like the little pincushion, but all in all I would have been very disappointed to receive such a box. Thank you for posting!
That is a good price for Mrs. Quilty. Sew Yeah had there fabric Sale Friday and FQ’s were $2.25 each!! I had yo stop all my monthly box’s until I get caught up! Lol Right?? 😂 Sew sampler will end this month I think! Oh and Thank You sew much for telling me what I was doing wrong with those darn geese! Made a bunch more practice it was the 1/4” at top that had got me. Anyway I’m happy just have to get row together and it ready for MSQC! If you need anything just ask I owe you big time 😊
Were templates in the magazine for the 2 items shown with the patterns. I will watch you in the next couple of months receiving and showing us the Mrs Quilty boxes. Then I will decide if I want to cancel the sew sampler box. Thanks 4 doing the unboxibgs.
Yes you only receive paper templates for the patterns. You do not receive a cut list with dimensions for the pieces. You would have to use the templates to cut.
@@sewbeitquilts I would leave the templates in the book. I use disposable cutting boards that I get at dollar tree for $1.25 for 2 sheets and make my templates by tracing the templates that are in the book.
Thanks Fallon. I am not excited about those fabrics. Not my style and I think the magazine may be more for a beginner, which is great. I like that. But the pricing for the value is just not something I would go for. Thanks for doing this.
So I’m new to quilting. I came across this box on IG and it really appeals to me. My question is: did you continue to receive this subscription and did they continue to impress you?
I've been on the fence on this, but you helped get me over the edge. I will subscribe to this box. I tried to subscribe to sew sampler, but they're maxed out. I thought about pineapple fabrics. Have you or anyone subscribed to their box?
I just ordered it and it has not come in yet but many negative results from different u tube channels I am an avid quilter and waiting for the box to arrive I just want a monthly box that I will enjoy and I just received your bundle box of the 2 rulers and love them thank u so what is your favorite monthly box
I’m so glad you love them! I didn’t think the fabric in this box was as bad as many thought. I didn’t enjoy that the pattern is put together using templates though. My favorite box is probably the open gate quilt box. Definitely priced higher than this one though. Another one I enjoyed is the sew sampler. I subscribed to that one over a year. I liked that you get precuts of a lot of the current designer fabrics. I only unsubscribed because I was getting way to large of a collection of notions and a lot of them I didn’t use.
I only purchased this box once. From what I remember there were templates in the magazine that you needed to cut out. You use those templates to cut out the pattern pieces.
You are the third unboxing I have seen this week. Each box had different fabric same project with the templates. Both of them were ok about the box. I am wondering who is the designer also.
But… do you like the using templates you have to copy out of the book and use as a cutting pattern vs cutting instructions like we are used to having in quilt patterns? I don’t like templates! Do you like unknown fabrics vs fabrics from the top brands and designers. I want new designer fabrics! It’s an almost perfect box, it’s just not
This is why I love sharing the different boxes out there… that way people can really see if the box will work for them before purchasing. I personally wish that the pattern came with the dimensions of the cuts for each piece as well as the templates that way I could cut it out with my rotary cutter instead. I don’t mind unknown non designer fabrics as long as they are a good quality. I found these to have a great feel to them and I loved all the designs and colors.
I’ve just completed this Mrs Quilty box. I really was shocked all pieces were templates. I haven’t done these for decades since I began quilting. I feel the lady doing the video intentionally avoided to at least advise her followers this is all templates without rotary cutting dimensions. Sorry I had to return the kit. I’m a 21st century quilter
Your the second person I've seen unbox this. I don't understand the templates. The quilting world has been revolutionized with the rotary cutter why would we go back in time a waste time cutting templates.. jmo
I got one box. I liked the patterns and designs of the fabrics but felt the quality of the actual fabric was not quilt quality. More like what you get at a big box store. Not something I’d used for an actual project.
I did not care for it at all, the material looked cheap, and I don't need two fat quarters of the same thing. It just felt like not much care were put in boxes and I cancelled my subscription.
