If you want to make a medium that restorers use and can be made in "bulk" then do this. Cut the foot end of a panty hose off. Then put 6 tbls. of methyl methacrylate crystal in the toe end. Almost fill a .5L jar with turpentine (real turpentine). Lower the crystals into the jar so that the sock mesh and methyl methacrylate are at least half way into the turps but no more than 3/4 in (away from the bottom?. Wrap the excess panty hose over the lip of the jar and then screw the top on. Let this sit for a day and then gently rotate the jar to get the turps moving through the mesh. Let it sit again until the crystals are clear and the pandy hose toe has shrunk,indicating the crystals are now part of the turps. The medium is ready. This costs little to make. It can be used as a non yellowing varnish/sealer also. It can be redissolved as well ,important. (epoxy cannot be redissolved because it was formed in an exothermic reaction and damar yellows). While painting, any combination of linseed oil and this medium is allowed. Brushes cleaned with turp then soap and water.
