I just picked up the 605 poly protector.357 for $250 in 2024. Not a bad deal used. Took it out to the range 50 shots of .357 thought might be a little to powerful for public defense. Since these bullets can travel. So I opted to carry Critical defense HP Hornaday 125 grain .38 special. Loving this gun so far. Main EDC is Glock 43x with OEM 10 round mags x2 and this on the ankle with 5 round strip clip. Think that should be enough to save the day if it ever comes. Unpredictable world we live in. Stay safe and awesome video. Now subbing
Thank you! It’s growing on me. Didn’t care much for it at first, but really like it now. I won’t be off until next week. Going to go shoot them then. Excited to try them out.
I keep watching for a 3 inch all steel 605. Never seem to find one when I'm liquid enough to take one home. I get the idea behind a polymer revolver, but it does not give me the warm fuzzies. I'll find one eventually. Looking forward to the videos to come.
I’m curious to see how well it holds up over time. Hopefully you find one when the time is right. That would be about like a model 60. Wouldn’t mind one of those myself.
It's too bad Taurus decided to emphasize the "Poly" in the name of the Poly Protector. Because of that it seems people dismiss them as a "plastic revolver". The fact is that the gun has a full metal frame like any other revolver, and a steel barrel, cylinder, hammer, trigger, etc. Only the peripheral parts like the grip frame, hammer shroud, barrel/ejector rod shroud and the trigger guard are polymer, for weight savings. I think the fact that the gun is designed to fire .357 Magnum is evidence that it doesn't have a "plastic frame".
@@sacrificialscience4405 well the first day I shot it after 75 rounds a pin came loose and fell out the side of the revolver after that the entire cylinder fell out. Second time around it would light strike over and over. But hopefully this time it’s good.
You're not checking lock up properly, pull the trigger all the way to the rear allowing the hammer to go all the way forward, do not let go of the trigger, hold the trigger all the way to the rear, then check lock up. That is when it is most important at the moment of cartridge detonation.😮
