When Transformers came out I was on awe how realistic and complex they were, especially compared to GoBots at the time. 37 years later I am again in awe of these things 🤓
This head sculpt looks much better. The one on Sunstreaker is the reason why I never bought him. I hope they release a 2.0 or at least reissue him with two heads. **Edit: I just bought both for the express purpose of putting Spinout's head on Sunstreaker.
i must admit, i am so oddly grateful this video exists. i actually really enjoy spinout as a character (from what i’ve read about him on tfwiki) and i’m really glad to see the toy is as amazing as it could have been. just wish my price range for individual figures was a bit higher so i could get one, lol.
I think the best thing about this video - with taking the time to point out small details, multiple action poses, etc - is that you genuinely had fun playing with it while filming. 🤖😎 *TOOT* 💨
My heart goes out to you for all the work you put into just transforming all of these guys for this video!!! That would've taken me a weekend. Also, Glad to see Badcube Blaze getting a shout-out! I kept my Sunsurge, they have a lot of their own likeable flair, still.
Fantastic review, one of the best I've seen! I got Spinout for the main reason that I couldn't find Sunstreaker at a reasonable price. But oh boy am I glad I got him. I had no idea of his significance as the first Car Robot of the Diaclone line, finding that out just makes me love him more! I just wanted the Sunstreaker mold and found a good deal on this red version and hey! Result! He is a really great toy, so much detail and engineering. Transforming at first was daunting, but not so bad once you get the hang of it. I do have a little trouble getting some things to fit in quite as flush as I would like in car mode - mainly the roof and doors - but it's not a dealbreaker. I would still like an actual MP-39 Sunstreaker, just because that's the character I grew up with, but if I never get one, that's fine too. Spinout is in no way a consolation prize, and may just in fact be the champion!
@@jeffreyloskoskill4901 there's additional surface detailing on the legs, black windows, and a slightly different head on a hypothetical "toy" yellow version.
You don't mention that the backpack puts a lot of pressure on the top joint, when it's fastened to the back at the underside with a hook. I didn't feel comfortable using the hook after the first time I fastened it tight. Also, during the transformation a lot of red paint flecks will come loose from all over the place. Another thing that you don't mention (I believe) is that the side doors don't seal up nicely and that they leave a pretty big gap at the top, certainly compared to an original Bluestreak masterpiece. The gaps probably serve to make the side doors come loose and slide upwards by applying a slight bit of pressure at the right place (which is really nice), but it's still visibly noticeable.
I have Sunstreaker and Cordon. It's my favorite MP mold. If I get some extra money I will get this one. The problem is that I'm almost out of space and I have too many Lambos already. Thanks for the review!
I've one of these on the way. I'm a sucker for these Diaclone homages and couldn't resist. Especially after watching your review :P Good work fella! I do like that these Diaclone homages have been popping up in the Selects line too. Got Deep Cover from that line and he's awesome. I'd love an MP version of Deep Cover, colours on that are sooo good. Tops G2 Sideswipe for me! ...none of which is related to Spin Out. Who looks awesome. Except for the yellow ears. I know it's accurate and all, but they still look out of place next to all that red. At least Cordon had red lights to offset his bleeding ears.
I'm surprised we never got a black repaint of the Iron Hide/Ratchet mold. I still really like BadCube version. I have both versions they put out. The official is superior but I won't get rid of the BadCube bots. I do think the Takara Sunstreaker mold is their last really good release. Everything else has had some fairly major problem. It still makes me sad I paid more for that bad Bumblebee 2.0 then Sunstreaker. I will have to disagree with you on whether Takara will make a new Sideswipe mold. They can get so many repaints off it, they will definitely remake it. Takara has no interest in releasing all the G1 figures, just on how to maximize their sales on each release. With three versions of Optimus, and three versions of Starscream, it is only a matter of time till a new Sideswipe mold is rolled out. Thanks for the video, as always.
Love the 80s cartoon music! (And Lamborghini bots) Oddly enough the music makes me immediately think of Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends... I think its episode 1 that's a Halloween dance at their school. But I know several 80s cartoons reused soundFX and music... Transformers, Spider-Man, Hulk, GIJoe and even D&D to some extent. Long story short, I CAN SEE THIS MUSIC, LOL!
So the official Masterpiece cars still don't have rubber tires? I've been upgrading to the MP+ and putting the older carbots on a toy accurate shelf. I was hoping the new releases would have rubber tires, especially since they're over $100 now.
had to stop the review when you were transforming when you got to the little pieces that flip out under the fake side windows, I didn't know those were there, lol. so I guess I'm still learning stuff, lol.
Sixo, Your diorama is so beautiful. I can’t remember if you said you made it or bought it. Which is it? If you bought it, I have to know from whom. If you made it, then Awesome job!
Thank you! It’s a bit of both. The road is a piece that I bought, and then a lot of the trees and rocks came from different places, some of it then came from my garden lol. The actual backdrop is then on a screen.
