Fun fact: in Macross it's very common for a Valkyrie to just swing down its legs and not do the full transformation into GERWALK mode, usually if it's coming in to land without a runway handy or for skimming over a surface while not in combat. It's never been given an official designation, but it's often called Ostritch mode, after the VT-1 Super Ostritch in the Movie Do You Remember Love - which is only ever seen in fighter mode, or with the legs swung down. The full GERWALK and Battroid modes were only shown in line art or in the various toys and model kits.
A great unboxing video fella! I can’t part with my MP11 squadron so will keep them in alt mode and have MP52 and MP52+ (as well as Skywarp when he finally arrives) firmly in bot mode. I know they are pricey but they do look absolutely stunning.
MP-52 has never looked better, excellent work, Sixo! By the by, I'd love to hear your take on Crimson Wings and how it transforms, talk about challenging, lol.
Great video, as always! I would have liked to see comparisons to the older official versions. I have only taken my MP-52 out of the box, not transformed it yet. My only remark so far is that the grey colour is a little bit too dark. In the G1 cartoon Starscream looked almost white at times, just like Optimus Prime.
I purchased both MP-52 & Crimson Wings, both figures are fantastic and you can not go wrong with either one. Ultimately I chose to keep CW as my definitive Starscream as i felt it was the better of the two
I've got the original green MP3 Starscream and the later cartoon coloured version, so after seeing your review of MP52 it's tempted me to get this one and maaaybe sell my old ones... but holy hell, why on earth is MP52 so expensive??? It's like, 3 times the price of Masterpiece Megatron.
MP-52 G1 Starscream's jet mode ALMOST looks good. As for his robot mode, he is spot-on G1 cartoon model-accurate in the front, but in the back, not so much. I can say the same things about MP-52+ G1 Thundercracker and MP-52+ G1 Skywarp.
Another amazing!! Review!! To be honest I was kinda waiting for your insane comparisons!! I would of loved to see him next to your Mmc ocular max Combaticons!! And maybe your Shockwave and Megatron! None the less thank you. Am still waiting for your xtransbots Stunticons and DX9 Menasor video!! ♥️🌟
For the clear piece that clips in for the stand it’s easiest to get it in by putting both tabs in at the same time, and to get it out flip that piece up and push it out from the bottom with your nail
I'd like to see a modern attempt at the original masterpiece intention. I'd like to see a day where we have a perfect F15 model with a toon accurate bot mode. I'd pay a premium and wouldn't mind an over-complicated transformation.
Sixo mate, please don't make me want this, it _looks_ spectacular but the lack of a waist swivel and the fake cockpit should NOT be a thing on a nearly $300 figure...but you make it look *so* good...
Thing is, the fake cockpit is a total non-problem. Actually, that's a reason it *should* cost more - it uses incredible *extra* engineering and parts to achieve the desired look. Otherwise, the robot mode would be a slight compromise. They didn't have to do it but they did. Waist swivel totally forgivable IMHO.
Gawd it's such a nice figure. My big money spend has gone on Victory Saber though. Maybe next year. I do like the new approach you're doing with these vids but I do kinda miss the way you were discovering the toy as you went along in the earlier vids. Especially with the articulation. Still, you cover so much ground in about half the time now which is pretty great.
@@SixoTF That's one thing I like with your channel. There's constantly new touches being added. Watched the Lio Convoy vid again the other day and it's crazy how much slicker the videos have got since.
People can say what they want but takara knocked this outta the park he looks like he just 🚶♂️ right outta the 📺 he's a beautiful figure that face sculpt is amazing, I have him and I love him imo I don't think he's worth the $275 I paid but it's the best Starscream out there d.s. is good but 2 me this is Starscream to the fullest. And usually all the grumbling in the community are from people who can't or don't want to shell out the money 🙄 oh well, just like M.P.44, The Best Prime 2 date...Get ur 💰 🤑 up and stop being cheap 🤣🤣👍
I have Transforme Element Prime and Deformation Space Starscream for the price of this new TT MP SS and have 400 £ extra. For the money the savings the presence on shelf the build quality and materials I'd happily buy more MP figures with that than have offical 1 MP SS.
@@NinjaSquirrel30 ur absolutely right, I said he's not worth the price of admission @all, but he does look the best 2me(IMO), I have T.E.01 Prime as well but he's very limited in articulation and lacking the paint that mp-44 has, I keep mp-44 in 🚚 mode and T.E.01 as my definitive Prime 👍
I think I'd make consider if it had a waist swivel and being able to pose the thumbs more naturally but as it, it looks good, but I just feel something is missing. That and I've heard too many horror stories about qc and the fans hobby armada prime already burned me so I skipped him. I don't see the price like I do on other figures. Also the coronation gear fiasco is just scum. Really mixed overall.
@@SixoTF yeah. I get some people don't mind the waist, I just find it wanting. I'm waiting for the zeta seekers myself since I have a diorama idea for starscream on a throne with megatron's head or something. The mp looks fine, I just don't feel like it earned it's price for me. Glad some people like him now though after how many horror stories he has. He just ain't for me. Good work as always though.
These Masterpieces are beautiful but when the War For Cybertron, Studio Series 86 and Legacy figures were released, the gap between Masterpiece and mainline figures is getting smaller and smaller. I do plan on getting a few Masterpieces. I have Trailbreaker on preorder. He’ll be my 1st MP. Skywarp might be my second.
"top-tier toy engineering in all its glory" ...you, good sir, must've been extremely lucky and obtained a flawless copy, because a lot of folks have had some ugly issues with this new mold...no matter how much they like it.🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️ (Issues that carried over to Thundercracker and Skywarp to varying degrees) I THOUGHT that they blew it with the shade of gray, but...lookin' at the screenshots you provided, it seems that even the color scheme is an obscure reference. (The pilot did indeed have ol' Screamer in that dark gray) Problem with that is the lighter gray is the color that's more commonly known & associated with Starscream. Funny thing: not sure if anyone has pointed it out, but the new Megatron gun ain't the same as the one that came with MP01, MP02, MP04/MP04S, or MP13/MP13B, as this one is based on the redesigned gun mode of MP36... complete with the "crooked" stock.
No issues with my copy other than some ankles that could be a wee bit tighter, but he still holds a pose just fine and my TC is perfect. I can only speak of my personal experience.
