I’ve figured Gil out. He’s pro player and anti corporation to the core. He will never hold a player accountable or speak negatively about one. He also discredits the era before his. Gil is 100% right. Phoenix has been better than the Lakers and GS but no one questions their leadership due to losses. There are circumstances that leads to losses like injuries, not having a PG to put players in their right positions, etc. The trade for Beal was a bad trade because him and Booker play the same position and Book is not a PG. This is a badly constructed team thats had injuries and they still will finish with 6th seed. And that has nothing to do with leadership.

Who did we trade for Beal? It wasn’t Cam and Mikal. Shamet was traded because he was fuckin awful and Chris Paul was washed and injury prone. As much as I hate that Beal contract that’s a lie that they traded two of the best bench players for him. Suns got KD and had to trade Cam and Mikal because they obviously weren’t gonna trade Book, CP3 was old, Ayton has attitude issues and isn’t that good, those two were the only ones of value.

Gil has to be careful attacking people's opinions based on their playing career. Chuck's best year in the NBA, he won MVP and made it to the Finals. Gil's best year, he scored 60 against a bad Lakers team (with Kobe Bryant on it). That's his career highlight.
