Chad was extremely unprepared for this and it shows in his logic. If he had done his research he would have seen that Keith was totally against anyone speaking negatively about these establishments, he urged them to try it for themselves because their experience may be different. Also, Chad of course your experience was great in Atlanta, you are a celebrity. Keith is the perfect person to be a food critic because he reviews food from the perspective of an average person going to restaurant and that is why he had an issue with them pulling out all the stops when they realized it was him because what that means is that if i was an average joe I would not have gotten that same service.

Ocho is SO wrong here. THAT is the entire problem…. As a community, we’ve gotten to the point where we believe our restaurants and service prodivers are beyond reproach. This is the problem with our community; we are okay with mediocracy. We can’t take criticism to help us to be better. We struggle or lack outstanding service because we are scared to critique. We get better with the advice. Black, instead of making our stuff better, we go to the white establishment. There are food critics in our races' restaurants; you do not hear them say, no, we can’t do this to us; no, they say thanks, let me change for the better. We are not going to grow. I thank Keith for doing what he is doing; he is waking up and building for the better.

A RARE Ocho L. You don't have to be a chef to be a food critic, like you don't have to be a pro athlete to be a sports analyst. Keith seems transparent with the restaurants he reviews, good or bad. And building trust in his opinions are built by not being biased based on race, religion, sex, orientation, etc.

Just because you’re black passionate and you put your money into a restaurant does not mean you get to give people any kind of customer service I’m glad somebody like Keith Lee stepped up and spoke on the issue …

The craziest part is that Keith DID NOT LEAVE A BAD REVIEW! He even complimented the staff on their kindness! All he did was OBJECTIVELY describe his experience. People are only upset because they KNOW this is unacceptable. Additionally, he urges people to not only refrain from making negative reviews, but also go for themselves to form their own opinion! Ocho never sends things back or gives a negative opinion because he can AFFORD to do so. He has the luxury of being able to put up with a negative experience, because he can afford to give himself limitless positive ones whenever he wants. Keith has done nothing but uplift small black and brown businesses, ESPECIALLY because these businesses are what normal people frequent the most. It is so sad that people think that criticism in any capacity is negative instead of constructive. I pray that at the very least, people watch more of Keith Lee's videos to see how much good work he's done instead of tearing down his image.

I hold a degree in culinary arts. What KL is doing is spot on! If I'm ever so lucky to own my own restaurant I would want KL to come and rip it apart if need be because it's only going to make my business better. As a chef, I live for an honest critique it's the only way to excel at the craft. Now if Gordon Ramsey showed up and ripped them a new a**hole I wonder if they would be tripping.

Check Keith’s resume for helping ppl as a food critic. The one that stick out the most for me was him helping an elderly black man food truck. He sold seafood. Keith is allergic so he cleaned the grease & Keith came back to eat. Ppl from all over was sending him money via cash app. I forget how much he received but it was enough. The owner was so confused to what was going on and thanked Keith. Atlanta is the only city crying about his reviews. Chicago take their food seriously too & we didn’t have an up roar like Atlanta.

Keith is a food critic b/c we appreciate his honesty, his transparency, he doesn’t go off of celeb status. He’s an everyday patron like us, who doesn’t go sit in 5 star restaurants everyday Chad. The point is, he was invited & these restaurants DO need to do better. Simple as that

I can say that is how Ocho is. The waitress here in NC at a popular restaurant did not know who he was until after he left and he left a large tip after being so patient that they were short staffed that day ❤❤❤

As a former waitress that trained other waitresses, Keith Lee did the right thing. When you have people waiting an hour to two hours for a table that is added stress on the workers. No carryout or delivery, the owners are stressing out the workers. Believe me, I am going to be on point with service because I need my tips to live, but the owners are not providing an environment for the wait staff to shine or financially thrive . When folks wait 2 hours they become hangry. Keith Lee did not call out the service staff or the chefs, he called out the owners of the establishment for being understaffed

Chad is a perfect example of why the black community remains at the bottom till this very day. If you think you’re perfect, you will NEVER improve. Some people think mediocrity is perfection. Obviously, way too many restaurants in Atlanta think mediocrity is perfection. The only way we rise is when we give each other constructive criticism and fix our problems.

I live in ATL and there are restaurants that lack in customer service. I leave my honest reviews of businesses, good and bad, on Google, Yelp, etc. Chad I respectfully disagree with you. Anyone can give their opinion on anything. The businesses should use this as constructive feedback and improve on their quality. I’m riding with Shannon on this one 😂

Ocho's thought process on dining out is crazy. It's ok to feel sympathetic to service workers, but not to the extent where you're not fulfilled and you reinforce bad behavior in the workplace.

Chad completely wrong on this topic ignoring the customers that spending their hard earn money to receive good customer service and to have a good experience at these restaurants. In order for growth people need to receive criticism. Keith Lee is doing a excellent job to highlight these flaws before people actually go and waste their money on a bad experience.

I was a waitress and bartender for 15 years back when there was NO AUTOMATIC gratuity / hourly pay was $2.11. My job was to give the best service to everyone because all the people I served paid my bills, most were nice and some were completely rude, run you around, camp out at your table and "GET STIFFED." In the service industry we all had a saying "you have to take the bitter with the sweet" at the end of my shift it always worked out and I made good money. If you can not deal with the "rude" then do not get in this business. My family have stopped going out to eat these last 3 years, because the service SUCKS, they act like they are doing me a favor by waiting on me and 90% of the time the FOOD is TERRIBLE. So they can all kick rocks because I am not going to PAY to get treated like crap and be served nasty food.

It's clear that Ocho just doesn't like for black people to be criticized, no matter what. I am a black man, and I've worked in the service industry for years... and regardless of if it was a choice or not for me to work in it, one thing still remains the same. If you don't offer excellent customer service, then you won't have a job for long. I'm so sick and tired of this "empathy" for bad behavior. I'm not going to just accept terrible service because someone is having a bad day. And if I'm a business owner, I'm going to get those individuals out of my establishment as quickly as possible. Take your bad day somewhere else, get therapy, and figure it out. It sounds harsh, but the truth hurts. What's more disturbing is that Ocho is more concerned with his image (pride) rather than living in truth. Honestly, I don't know why Sharpe is trying to have a conversation with a guy that is already made up in his mind that even with the facts and simple common sense is presented, that he's still going to refute that information... Ocho is reprobate, and he needs to be left there. We all know what the word says about pride... it comes before a fall.

I'm here for Keith Lee! He's BEEN a food critic. His content has BEEN fire. We are not exempt from criticism just because we've had a bad day or it was hard for us to start our business.

Thank you Shannon! And, clearly Ocho’s critique of a restaurant is suspect. We have amazing Black owned and operated restaurants in Atlanta that only give 5 star treatment! So, Attention all restaurants including our BLACK owned and operated restaurants…treat people well, provide great customer service and experience and you will get a great review. Most times, great customer service makes the food better. As a Black owned restaurant, you do not deserve special treatment or excuses fir bad service. It is reckless to suggest otherwise that Black restaurants should not be held to the same standards as other restaurants and that Black customers are just suppose to take the BULLSHIT. Disclaimer: All restaurants have bad customers at some point, why should I suffer because of a previous bad customer. Atlanta restaurants, if you think you are entitled to a different standard, you will not be in business long. Because whether or bot it is said out loud… folks will NOT pay for bad service!

Keith Lee is a blessing to our society

Businesses being affected by criticism isn't exclusive to restaurants Ocho. If you hold this position against criticism of restaurants, then logically you'll have to be against criticism of any kind. That means you can't talk bad about anything people sell: food, drinks, clothes, devices, movies etc, because it can directly affect their business.

As Someone who has been customer service my entire life it's no joke. I'm a waiter i treat all my customers with love $$$

Keith Lee basically exposed how some of these restaurants operate like nightclubs and not like restaurants. Keith is always respectful and tells people to go and experience for themselves, he’s just sharing his experiences. Chad, I guess you got a problem with me because I expect great service, great food and a great experience when I go to a restaurant. I also want equal service. Meaning every customer should be treated the same.

Glad atlanta got the bad press. I went there last year and the service was shit for mediocre over priced food. Never had this problem in other big cities like NYC, Chicago or LA. Atlanta seems unique with this problem

Ocho only has a great experience in these establishments because he allows his celebrity to influence the service. Keith wants to be treated just like a regular person and that’s the difference.
