It won't be the same. TNT lets the Inside the NBA crew get away with a lot of stuff. NBC and ESPN won't let them be their selves. This also includes people behind the scenes like Underdog.

Y'all are underestimating how good inside the NBA actually is. When the game is a blowout or not very entertaining, they keep the show going even when the game is an interesting anymore you still want to hear what they have to say so it keeps your eyes on the screen and you don't turn the channel. You can't compare this to any other commentator like Joe Buck and them they aren't entertaining enough to carry the show when the actual game is whack

That's not the point he's making though. He started his commentary on what is ultimately driving this whole deal through. I don't know why people haven't learned that, no matter how much one doth protest, all of this is strictly & structurally profit driven. If the commas line up then it stays. If there's even a margin of diminishing returns that outweighs an alternative then it goes.

It's not just Ernie, Kenny, Shaq and Chuck, it's the entire production team that makes this show what it is. The pranks, skits, and edits is its on character. Not having Ernie and that production team w/ the players will be like having a cheeseburger w/ no top bun. You can put all the fixins on it and it still may be delicious but consuming it will be quite the task you will eventually just starting eating something else.

Y'all are forgetting the fact that these companies aren't taking y'all "in your feelings" comments into consideration. Regardless of how you feel, the largest part of the pie...the areas the advertisers are targeting...is what is going to drive this deal. The NBA itself is the prine real estate. Now it'd be nice if all those acres came witg a fully furnished house with it but I'm not all that concerned about it in the long run. "But people think you should have this specific house here because it will make the landscape that much more attractive." Then they need to purchase this land from me. I got investors ready to turn this thing into another conglomerate that we can maximize profit from....without that house you love so much. Folks are too emotional about this and I get it. But that's not how Businesl$$ works for these companies and corporations. Period.

Unc makes it awfully simplistic here. Sure it's about the money. But that's not what we're talking about. Firstly, there is no NFL show that compares to Inside the NBA neither in format nor personalities. There is no show in any sport rn that is worth watching like Inside the NBA. Looool, nba ratings have been declining, and most people watch nba on tnt for the cast of chuck, shaq, kenny, and ernie. So Shannon's argument is silly. I think most people avoid the espn halftime show like the plague, so they lose rating when people see Stephen a's hairline begin to peak out. Good programming and good presentation of said programming go hand in hand. Because when the programming (a blowout) happens, good presentation (the inside guys) need to pick up the slack and make light of it. That's what inside the nba does best.

I work in the tv industry and the big problem is that people are forgetting about people like myself and the background people the production staff. That's what chuck ernie shaq and Kenny are worried about because nbc can get them but it's the rest of the crew. I worked for the WWE in the truck and Cena and taker were always cool. Shannon you not wrong about the the buying of the NBA. However, that is the Best NBA show hands down and cast that has awards to prove it. NBC doesn’t give a fuck about that show. It won’t be the same. But if reports are accurate $2.5bn NBC bid is hard to ignore. The TNT won’t go over to NBC. Barkley has said so. NBC would love that crew switch over but Ernie is loyal to TNT. That said… Shaq, Kenny & Charles won’t leave without Ernie.

Shannon's totally off on this. A lot of people who dont even like basketball watch inside the NBA. I was hoping the Mavs would sweep the Wolves until I realized that that would mean no more NBA on TNT. Now I want it to be a 7 game series. That's how much better they are than ESPN

Honestly dont care about 85% of the nba season, but I watch it solely to see Inside and that group of gentlemen. This is going to be such a hard hit to so many people.

Shannon is off on this one. Inside the NBA is a staple of TNT and the NBA. The problem is TNT will no longer have NBA and Ernie is not leaving Turner. The show has a documentary. TNT may not survive

I might be stating the obvious but I don’t think Unc & Ocho understand that the Inside crew are under contract with TNT- they can’t just up and do the same show on another network unless all 4 of them can break their TNT contract somehow.

I'm telling you Adam silver was a blessing and cruse for the NBA, he is part of every deal done and if they not resigning he didn't agree to it, that show literally got us thru years of ups and downs, they keep millions of people engaged to the show during and way after

Watching the NFL thru the Mannings is better than any booth broadcast save Joe Buck and Al Michaels. Same with The NBA. Shaq and Co. are much more knowledgeable and entertaining than any booth crew.

Time, effort and dedication can help the chemistry grow. First things first and the football(soccer) UCL team at CBS both have the chemistry similar to inside the NBA.

The main reason TNT isn’t in contention is due to digital application. They don’t have the apps that grant everyone access to the games.

It's the BEST studio show period. GOAT Show. Most consistently entertaining show since Chuck came on. Guaranteed Emmys. Chuck paved the way for Shannon and everyone else. Better than the games most nights. Chuck, Ernie, Shaq & Kenny are unmatched. TNT has tried with their Tue show but nope. ESPN/ABC, Fox, CBS, NBC...not even close.
