“We don’t need the NBA” will age like milk. This will go down as a historic whiff by TNT. These guys are winning Emmy’s and TNT thinks they don’t need them.

I like that Charles takes no prisoners. He's willing to call the people he works for "clowns" and he's right, so nobody can really get mad at Chuckster for saying that. Inside the NBA being forced off the air is a lot like NBC ousting Conan O'Brien from the Tonight show. But what Conan did is take his talent (and his entire crew) to a new network. Conan paid his staff when they were all jobless. I hope that Chuck, Shaq, Kenny, and Ernie do make their own show, even just a podcast, on their own should TNT lose the NBA. Why do all the good things have to be discontinued? 😭😭

The little interest I have in the NBA is largely due to watching Inside the NBA. Might be the best show on tv right now. Wish those guys would do a football show or college basketball show.

Zaslav is one of the worst CEOs. He has been WB CEO since May 2021. Since that time, he has done nothing good. He canceled many beloclved shows and killed many good completed projects. Now, he fumbled the NBA. Worst yet, during his tenure, the WB stock went from $37 to $8. A chimp can do a similar if not a better job.

Sucks to hear this, but also encouraging that Charles is so up in arms about it. Clearly he still has the desire to keep the good times going, hopefully the other three do as well.

Warner Bros is going to take Chuck's advice about the Mercedes. They didn't buy the rights to the NBA because they can't afford it.

Im completely missing games a lot of the time, but the one thing I’ll always watch NBA content wise, is Inside the NBA, it’s what always draws me back in and keeps me engaged with the NBA, such a shame if we lose it

Problem is even if the other studios get Ernie Chuck Shaq and Kenny, yes it will be great… but it won’t be the same, the staff, underdog and them, they’re an important part of the show. The culture behind that production will be gone.

All things must pass, so if it's over, then it was a helluva ride for a great many years and I appreciate each & every person involved in putting on the show. I like the idea of them doing it via another production co., but those options rarely seem to work out for all parties.

Inside the nba alongside TNT’s production of the games as well as their play by play announcers is second to none. Not just basketball, but any production in sports. This is a real shame if it’s going to most likely be replaced by garbage elsewhere. ESPN basketball broadcasts are unwatchable

WBD, the parent company of TNT, and their CEO David Zaslav was stupid for saying that he didn’t need the NBA. WRONG!!! You know who he really needed? Charles Barkley!

Why would TNT do this to the best NBA show in America? The cast, led by Ernie, has it all: chemistry, three former NBA players, two former champions, humor, debate, healthy arguments, sprinkled with more humor. With all their wisdom, experience, and insight, these big guys can laugh at themselves. It's a beautiful thing to see in this uptight world, and it's absolutely heartbreaking for us fans that it's about to come to an end.

Really hope the gang stays together. Love inside, nothing else compares. Nothing lasts forever but it would suck so bad for it to end this way.

I only ever watch TNT for basketball. For me, there's zero other reason to watch TNT.

This is why Chuck is, & has always been something unique, he shoots from the hip, tells it how it is when nobody else does! The big 4, Ernie, Chuck, Shaq & Kenny, are the NBA! This will be the biggest sports blunder since the Mets traded Ryan for Jim Fergosi!

Luckily the NBA is still a good competitive league, otherwise this may hurt many fans but it won’t hurt the league as bad. I grew up with these guys back in the early 2000’s!

I really truly don't think NBA fans don't get why Ernie is not leaving. The way we talk about Walt Frazier or Kevin Harlan is what Ernie Johnson is to baseball. Ernie is LITERALLY one of the best baseball commentators in the entire sport and if TNT loses the rights to the NBA, they are just going to have him do more baseball.

I’ve never had an opinion about Mr. Barkley. You could say I’ve been indifferent about him as a commentator. The few times I have gone out of my way it’s been to see him clown those big ol’ women in San Antonio to have SHAQ bust out laughing like it was scripted. After seeing this today, I have a new found respect for him. The way he is advocating for the people that works with him, and how they came in as high school students to post college grads with their children. He even called them his family. That’s something that I do have an opinion on. Well said Mr. Barkley, well said indeed sir ✌🏾

It’s ridiculous that the top rated NBA show is about to be no more for the sake of more money, and saying it like that will never make sense on either side.

If I was an executive at a network bidding for NBA broadcasting rights, I would reaching out to to the agents of the inside the NBA crew to see if I could get them for my pregame show.

People it’s not the show that’s bad it’s the nba. It’s no longer pulling in the ratings.

Whatever corp picks up the NBA, they'd be stupid not to take on the Inside guys and their production team or at least the top people and up-and-comers behind the scenes. But Chuck saying TNT shoulda spent the money on keeping the NBA over college football just tells me he isn't aware or is in denial of which way the ratings winds are blowing for the NBA.

Apologies for the thesis but here me out. I would hate to see the INSIDE shut-down...I think the other reason why Turner decided to let NBC have the rights is because you have some of these basketball games where teams are being beat 20+, 30+ points. I'm not going to watch a slaughter game and so as a viewer you're more inclined to watch a football game, provided you're a football fan, or eventually something else. I think also the aspect of load management is also something that has hurt the league, which if I know a player is not going to play, I'm probably not going to watch that game. I love the show. God knows I do. Lastly, a lot of these networks are now competing against streaming networks like Netflix, etc. I love the chemistry that Ernie, Kenny, Shaq, Chuck, and heck, even Underdog bring to the production but I think Turner is looking at the fragility of the league and saying is this league what we know and love. When you look at All-Star Weekend, the past few years after, I want to say 2020, it hasn't been as captivating to watch in compared to years past. At first I definitely hate that the show was coming to an end but then I had to think, they may not be missing much. I think the audible, pun intended, is for Chuck or Shaq or whoever to secure this production but maybe add a twist because I can tell you this, if you take all four of these people off, and lets not forget Tuesday Night Basketball, the NBA is more than likely going to lose its television fanbase for sure.

I personally dont even watch the nba highlights section on their show bc the show is right after the game which i usually watched so i already know what happened. Charles couldn't have said it better. Don't buy the product if you cant afford it. There's a reason the channel is successful and it's these guys. Getting rid of them because you cant afford them completely counteracts why you bought it in the first place.
