Some breakups are harder than others. The hardest is when you believed you were going to grow old with that person, till death do us part type of feeling. When that type of relationship ends, you think more about mortality, it's full of grief and loss. It really gets in your head. Life feels like it's coming to an end. This most likely isn't true, unless you're really old. Most likely you got decades more to live. A lot of things are still possible. That's what needs to be overcome, see the openness and possibilities. Many other potential partners are out there.

For me: Don’t try to act like you don’t love her anymore because you do. Acknowledge your pain, thoughts, regrets whatever you feel. Give yourself time to sort through things. It’s ok to grieve and go through it. Aim to be at peace with your situation and you will heal to be a more complete Man.

Having to reassure a person over and over is a huge red flag!! Reassurance will not fix what's broken in them and will completely drain you and the relationship. Shannon, although this has been painful, God had to remove that burden from your life because He knew you could not repair what only He can repair. Best way to move on is exactly that, move on. Because no matter what, even if you still want to continue the relationship. Nine times out of 10 that female is not coming back. She already made a decision in her mind, her heart, she already talked to her friends and she already pulled that trigger. Ain't no coming back from that. Don't be spending a bunch of extra money. sending candy, flowers none of that, because that won't help. But If y'all are meant to be she will be back.
